Returning to the Ransom Note Records offshoot, Insult To Injury boss Timothy Clerkin presents four prime cuts of rave meatiness for our ravenous consumption. Showing off his chops, Timothy’s distinctive Acid sound collides head on with Jungle and Breakbeat elements, put through the mincer to form an EP of epic dance floor destroyers.
Our choice here felt to Tour de Trance which takes the tempo down a notch, whilst revving up the Hands-In-The-Air-O-Meter! Big, analogue synths build throughout, sweeping us up and taking us to a place of pure ecstasy by the end.

The nomadic life was all they knew, for as long as they could remember they'd moved from place to place, with one eye constantly looking over their shoulder. In this day and age it was impossible to remain undercover; to don a new identity and pitch up somewhere for an extended period of time. No matter where they went, what buses, trains or planes they boarded, eventually they'd be tracked down and there was no knowing what would happen then...

After welcoming PCL to Slow Motion's Wrong Era off shoot back in June, label boss Fabrizio Mammarella makes his return to the parent imprint arm-in-arm with Italian retro-futurist producer Bottin for a brand new project: EYE-BM. The pair were jamming at CIMM studios when the release came to be; it's a melting pot of their combined musical passions. Backed by a remix from Italian synth wave icon Alexander Robotnick, the EP features three original tracks to get your body moving, which blend EBM, electro, Italo disco, cyberpunk and new beat.

On hand with the right solutions… Tech Support returns after a string of releases for Nocturne, Futureboogie & Silver Bear last year, making his debut on Ano Ano with a sublime serenade of subtle-but-shining gems, perfect for those warm-ups, wind-downs or 3am wig-outs.

One of his most comprehensive, accomplished and considered EPs to date, ‘Feelings Electric’ continues to refine and hone the London-based artist’s love for that timeless, well-oiled dark synth funk. The title track is a perfect example of his fusion as the beat pulsates with Weatheralian intent the lead line whispers sweet indie chugs into our ears.

Next we’re joined by Mexican DJ and artist Vongold who purrs sultry spoken word over a stalking mid-tempo creeper that’s powered by dubby echoes but crystalised by its sweeping chords. ‘Roaming Acid’ follows, completing the tryst of originals. A wandering 303 minstrel, wistfully zoning into the slo-mo sunset with a free spirit and a spring its step, it’s music for dreamers just as much as it is for dancers… And sets us up perfectly for the remix finale courtesy of Shubostar who ups the chug for more of a peak time affair.

Work had taken over every aspect of her life; from dawn till dusk it consumed her, and other parts of her world suffered as a consequence. Switching off was a thing of the past, now her mind was constantly racing, like a speeding car with no brakes. At some point the car would have to come to a screeching halt, it couldn't be on the track forever, but without an airbag to cushion the blow would she wind up crashing head first through the wind screen?

Dutch producer Luca dell’Orso draws inspiration from the retro sounds of the 80s. His take on Italo disco and synthwave has caught the ear of several labels pushing these sonics including Bordello A Parigi, Red Laser Records, and Italo Moderni, to name but a few. Next up he makes his way to Ritmo Fatale for Drive Fast, Brake Hard. A five-track EP full of light and dark retrofurutist grooves, it's intended as a commentary on the current climate that we live in and how pushing oneself to the limit will lead to an inevitable breakdown.

Following on from Melodic Motion, Martin Matiske returns to Bordello A Parigi with a track that first appeared over a decade ago. Released on his first album on Stilleben, “Dimension Phantasy” has been dusted down and given a new lease of life. This extended version bubbles with the same energy as the original. Steady kicks give way to scaling chords as a racing piece of future gazing brilliance takes hold. Melodies are addictive, yet cold, with a common ground between disco and electro being forged. Sharing the 12” real estate are two good friends, each offering their own remix. Captain Mustache is a musician who can turn his hand to any style. Here the French producer remains true to the Matiske’s version, adding layers of warmth while maintaining the Springtime coolness of beats and harmonies. The flip is given over to Play Paul, a trailblazing figure in electronics. BPMs are reduced as sweetened lines take flight in the “Oh Lord! Remix”. Arpeggiators rumble before bold keys and heartfelt vocals enter in this emotive reinterpretation. The finale strips back lyrics to focus on those succulent synthesizer sounds. A celebration of past, present and future on one very special release
