Paulina Rodriguez aka Paurro is what dance club cats consider a real DJ. She has built a reputation for pumping House music ecstasy and complete body workout on the dance floors of New York City, her hometown Mexico City, and the new shores she’s been heading to, expanding her rhythmical generosity down south up north, east, and west around the globe. 

A luminous spheroid of plasma held together by her own gravity - she glows in disco darkness enhanced by smoke machines and strobes - Paurro, as we speak, has become an integral and essential part of not only Ciudad de México’s, but house lover’s night life - or as Franklin Fuentes put it: “It’s hot in here, it’s wet in here, it’s dark in here, I like it here!”

After a few releases including her fantastic remix of “Nuestra Forma” by DJs Pareja and Lupe, Cómeme is proud to present her very first appearance on the label:

5 dirty House bangers, driven by sharp breakbeats, acidic-straight-in-your-face-synth-madness, rolling and wall shaking (sub) bass lines and laser sharp strings.
Paurro’s “Galavision” is full of floor fillers, lush psychedelia, basement jams and peak time jacking craze for those who know and those who wanna learn. 

The release also includes a remix (of the track “They’re here!”) by no other than “The Don” aka Matias Aguayo, presenting a more stripped down version, lovingly dedicated to the vibes both DJs achieve to create when playing together in already legendary appearances at the shores of the Pacific Ocean and the CDMX’s nasty City Centre. “Galavision” Is only the beginning. Prepare for much more music from Paurro, soon to be heard in the ever-growing discography of Latin America’s most essential Dance Label, the crates of your favorite DJs, and your local dance floor.

It were as if he were swimming in some sort of thick soup, the air was exhaustive to breathe and engulfed the senses in a dense weighty fog. It was like moving through heavy cream, weighed down by the very thing which kept him afloat.

He wondered how obvious it was to those all around him, did they notice as he weaved slowly between passers by as if in some sort of dream like haze. Did they notice as he tiptoed between the glow of flickering streetlights as the sounds and sirens of the city all around him swallowed it all up like some sort of pointed shark.

Who knew where his mind was? For he did not...

Kulture Galerie kickstart a new venture with the first release on the new label coming on strong and featuring a heavyweight cast of producers. Abdul Raeva, Gene Tellem and Nesa Azadikhah all feature on the first record on the imprint which is run by Metropolitan Soul Museum.

However, it is the Alien D track which we showcase today, music from a producer who we reckon is one to watch at the moment...

The dust was blowing furiously as the sky became a dark frosty black. Out here in the middle of nowhere they were very much at risk in the midst of chaos. Others had told tall stories about mysterious evenings lost in the dense fog of a plexistorm but few had ever imagined it might be as intense or vivid as this.

The wind howled between the ears as the night became colder, it were as if god himself was blowing frostily down upon them from the great heavens up above. How the hell might they ever escape but for a prayer or a miracle? It seemed like nothing else might work…
 
LNS & Dj Sotofett have become keen collaborators having worked on previous releases for Tresor. Now they return to the label with a new EP packed with electronic heat destined to keep dancefloors two steppin’ in rapid time. This is Electro at it’s very best – somewhat melancholy undertones paired with fast paced flickering stabs of energy.

Open Culture: No Borders is a campaign demonstrating solidarity with refugees and asylum seekers, as an ongoing response to the UK government’s ‘Hostile Environment Policy’. The policy has involved a slew of regressive legislations, intended to create a deliberately challenging environment for migrants to settle. In the process, we are seeing cruel approaches to the treatment of refugees and asylum seekers, the use of provocative language intended to create division and the adaption of laws which offer protection of human rights for all.
