For Yellow Island third-year anniversary,  they've launched ‘Yellow Island Various Artists 2021’. The compilation brings new faces to the label and features artists from different countries around the world, allowing each artist to express their own essence.

This V/A showcases experimental sounds, with 20 tracks that flow through the genres of house, lo-fi, electro, IDM, breaks and jungle.

Gabriel Massan designed the cover artwork for the album.

Popp - Pingo (Ciel's Raptured Remix)

Written and produced by a close friend to the Mantissa family, this unnamed and elusive artist has helped us launch the label with a bang with three club focused, space inspired tracks designed to decimate a dancefloor or provide the soundtrack to an afters.

Space Cadet opens the extraterrestrial affair, weaving from acoustic elements to electronic and eclectic synth lines. The A side ends with Frozen Bounce, a wobbly number, woven together with quick cuts and jerky elements. U10A, the most structured of a complex affair is a warming club tool perfect for both, beginning and finishing an evening. It's remix is similarly suitable for any party specific scenario, produced by the infamously talented artist Ciel.

PREMIERE: U01A (Ciel's Subterra Dub) [Mantissa]

Listen to this new track by hitter ALPHONSE, who is a steady source for breakin bangers and distinctive production for years now. With STILL EYE he is part of an excellent compilation curated by Bristol based producer REMOTIF. On his own label FAMILIAR STRANGERS he is releasing that pack of very dope tracks with the aim of raising funds for the International Rescue Committee (IRC).

IRC is currently assisting with emergency resettlement for Afghan refugees. Afghanistan is the single country most at risk of deteriorating humanitarian crises in 2022, and 100% of the profits from this release will provide uprooted families with tents, clean water, sanitation and other basic necessities.

Since dawn had broken, the man had been sat in his armchair with the phone at his side. He'd hardly moved all day, barely tearing his gaze away from the receiver. He feared that if he left for even one minute, he might miss the call. He drummed his fingers on the table beside him until they started to become callous and hard. He knew he was in for a long wait...

Leeds-based DJ and producer Skins has become synonymous with celestial, dubbed-out soundscapes, showcased on his two self-released hand stamped white labels, SKINS001 and 002. Having taken a couple of years hiatus from the releases, he now returns with the third instalment, two originals and a drum tool that flaunt his knack for crafting weightless dub techno and crisp breaks and percussion.

All proceeds from the sale of the record will be donated to organisations supporting Black people and efforts to end systemic racism, injustice and police brutality. Each of the records comes with an A4 artwork print and a letter to the purchaser.

Much loved underground music and culture podcast Parry Talks, hosted by Parry Tritsiniotis, has announced its first foray into the world of releasing music, and today unveils its first VA release. Comprised of tracks from PT alumni and previous podcast guests, PT001 is a thrilling exhibition of the rich community Parry Talks has represented for over a year and its diverse musical offerings.

Playing host to a multitude of different guests including Triple One, Dro Carey, Made in Paris, Willaris. K and many more, Parry Talks has garnered a loyal following in the Sydney music community and beyond thanks to its genuine connection, commitment to storytelling and diversity in guests. Bedroom producers and local DJs feature in the same season as international stars and rising cultural figureheads, and the same care and intrigue is applied to all who enter the PT arena.

The digital only, Bandcamp exclusive release features a who’s who of Sydney’s underground dance community, and 100% of sales being donated to Aboriginal Legal Service Redfern. While the guests of the show have been far-reaching, the roots of the project however live in dance music, hence the record labels entering into that space.

Velodrome’s PZ Specialist offerings up a nature-fulled, trippy dub experience, filled with familiar noises and an infectious underlying downtempo groove, while Body Corp, fresh from releasing an EP on Soothsayer, takes a darker, clubbier turn on his offering. 

A stalwart in the Sydney dance scene, Lex Deluxe contributes a River Yarra-meets-Roza-Terenzi, 4/4 glitchy bass-fuelled belter on her track, and Caitlin Medcalf makes her production debut with 'Gel' — a slow building, omnipresent, churning, 909-tinged banger. 

Off the back of a hot Gallery Release, the Sydney bred, LA based AK SPORTS lightens the tracklist up drastically with her very relevantly titled Free Britney. It's a stereotypical glitzy, 2-step garage banger with a dark twist in its second half, before AREA CODE wraps up the entire release in style with the foreboding, peculiar slice of atmospheric electronica with a glitched-out, hip-hop moment to bring it all together.
