MTK060 presents a release from our friend and one of the nicest guys in the business Amir Telem, who has made a name for himself in recent years with his ethnic influenced releases on labels such as Kindisch, Bar 25, The Soundgarden. On his release with Motek, 'The Journey Within EP', Amir is showing a different side of himself as an artist, with a minimal-ish, stripped back 'Journey Within' and a dancefloor driven breakbeat track 'Be'.

The remixes come from rising UK underground producers Pattern Tusk and Dharma. With his re-interpretation of 'Journey Within', Pattern Tusk brings in the Romanian Minimal influences, whilst sticking to the spirit of the original. Dharma gives us two remixes of 'Be', with the NU Disco influenced breaks remix and a leftfield Drum and Bass interpretation.

The original, from US-based Buridan, see’s echoing vocals and elegant synths that carry the melody across an expanse of moving soundscapes; underpinned by deep bass tones and driving snares that create a perfect amalgamation of elements from a dazzling array of genres from the
underground.

Throne of Blood winds down 2022 and our 16th year of unearthing oddball anthems and dancefloor smashers with the fourth of four anniversary EPs.

Kicking things off is long-time label affiliate and mega talent Daniel Avery who follows his recent Ultra Truth album with “Ricochet,” a skuzzed-up slice of moody techno.

Next is “Nylon Future,” a massive jam with dark energy from NYC stalwart and label newcomer, Heidi Sabertooth.

The balance of the EP comes from Japanese producers Que Sakamoto and Hoshina Anniversary, who deliver two wildly contrasting visions that express the sonic diversity of the label. “Kakegae” is a wildly psychedelic banger punctuated by odd chimes, acid squiggles, and an insistent groove. “Eiroku,” on the other hand, lands in Mr. Fingers territory, with a bassline that recalls “Mysteries of Love” overlaid with traditional Japanese instrumentation. It’s deep without ever sliding into the predictable or cliché. 

And with that, it’s on to the next… Keep your eyes open and your ears dialed in. There’s more to come from Throne of Blood!

New York based Italian producer Luigi Sambuy graces us with his long awaited release ‘Gemini EP’, named after the two iconic 1960s space shuttles that were sent into space concurrently. For Luigi Sambuy, this EP represents an ascension into deeper space, exploring sounds that are different from his previous releases on Anjunadeep and Mechanical.

We are also very proud to have teamed up with artist Alaia De Santis, who brought the essence of this EP to life in the cover artwork.

Three cuts driven by warmly distorted rhythms, bursts of primitive drums, rubbery synths and uplifting chants that overall feel like the first sunrays after an excursion through a dark cave: both blinding and blissful.

PRÈMIÉRE: Lion's Drums - Bain De Soleil [Hivern Discs]

The piece hung in the wardrobe and was never worn - it had meant to be for a special day, evening and night - yet that moment had never come nor would it ever now. The dress was elegant and stylish, red and gold with hints of autumn which ran throughout. It had been bought upon a whim and a longing for something more. Perhaps that was a night in the Mediterranean, a day in the Bahamas or a mystical city getaway beneath the night stars. For now it simply hung, wasted in the back of a closet which was destined for the dust. 

Puma & The Dolphin is set to release a new EP on Chambre Noire, a newly launched label with an eclectic vision. The release is rounded off by a remix from intriguing leftfield producer Michal Turtle who has relaunched a career with great promise.

FDF009 - Panorama Mixes [Snippets]

Born in Sunderland, Dharma has surfaced with a formidable musical background - performing as a multi-instrumentalist in orchestras, bands, and most recently as an electronic music producer. Dharma’s distinctive, yet unique sound takes major influences from the likes of The Prodigy, Aphex Twin.

Still only in his twenties, Dharma has released on a flurry of labels, most notably, Permanent Vacation where he received support from the likes of Alan Fitzpatrick and CRI.

The start of 2022 saw Dharma release 3 EP’s over a 4 month period. The first being on Newcastle based label Ape-x where he delivered a monster 4 track EP ‘Escaping The Harddrive’ which explores the realms of ambient, house, techno, breakbeat, jungle, and beyond. 
The release received a wide range of support and received positive feedback from dance music heavyweights Daniel Avery, Skream and Erol Alkan.

Aside from his own productions, Dharma has been on the receiving end of a wide range of remix projects. Some of the remixer's names include the likes of Marc Pinol, Omri Smadar and Boy Short’s and in 2022 Dharma delivered some of his own remixes, most notably, remixing fellow north easterner Man Power on his renowned ‘Me Me Me’ label.

2023 plans to be a huge year for Dharma as he prepares for releases Me Me Me and his much anticipated debut on the dance music heavy weight R & S Records.
