Art Crime is one of the more enigmatic figures in the Moscow music scene. Arthur recorded four solid releases on prominent record labels like W.T. Records, Crème Organization, Phonica Records and Pinkman. Piercing, emotional and energetic, the releases became distinguishable dance floor heaters. After a short pause, Art Crime returns with a new six-tracker EP on Private Persons.
«Memoirs of Naive» is the collection of old previously unreleased songs written during last five years but yet combined by the same narrative of failed love stories that were fated not to last long. Point of view of the young, naive and romantic yet, blindfolded character, who still believes that anything might work and there's a way to make it all happen. Melancholic late-night bedroom diaries full of reflections and hopes.

PREMIERE : Art Crime - Wounds

We introduce Comfort Zone, a young producer from Montreal, who has been making music for around 7 years now. He is inspired by "music from late 90s/early 00s video game soundtracks and the occasional snippets of electronic music I heard as a kid". We find that statement very much reflected in this release, as he masters the challenge of blending mysterious samples and different styles to form harmonious compositions.

On one side of the 4-track EP we have 2 groovy House tracks, reminiscent of early 2000s House by the likes of Lance DeSardi, Ian Pooley and Atjazz, on the other side 2 classic Jungle tracks which uphold our tradition of releasing timeless music.

Body Promise returns to the tape format with a 12 chapter missive from the Australian underground.  With this stellar survey of corporeally-minded music, they compile some of the most interesting mutations of modern dance music. ​Smooth Sensation marks the third and final installment in the Body Promise compilation series.  
 As the reels begin to spin, ​Fia Fiell​ (One Third of Jaala) builds to a textured wash of sound that eases the listener into the varied and exhilarating world this tape compiles. The leisurely, dubbed-out atmosphere of Low Flung​ and ​Freda & Jackson​'s contributions preface the bass-heavy boisterousness that both ​HED Ardennes ​(Fishing, Body Promise) and ​Letabruthaknow ​(aka Setwun)​ ​favour. Fishing's ​The Ghan​ opts for a hypnotic approach that slowly binds the listener in its spell until they realize it's time to flip over the tape.  
 Waterhouse​ collates broken filaments of sound into a fissured mirror,  reflecting odd visions and ghostly presences. ​Lou Karsh​'s electro transmission has a spacey, introspective edge that it shares with the dissociative acid ​Andy Garvey​ has programmed for her return to the label. Both ​Lucy Cliche​ and ​DJ Yoni​ (Holy Balm) have been working at the nexus of DIY production and unruly electronics for aeons, each contributing demented dancefloor directives that are shot through with personality. We close with ​Emily Glass​’ alien oddity, a pendulum that swings from shuddering intensity to eerie ambience until the tape stops spinning.

Mr. Fries @mrfries and Kandinsky @kandinsky are two long time partners, two friends based out in Dortmund. So far, we mostly encountered them on the WOLF Music imprint but here they land their musical work on the Lyon-based label Alélah Records @user-104603982 from LB aka LABAT. 

Fries and Alélah are no strangers, the first having already released a couple tracks on the French imprint. On this "Split Your Thang EP", he shares the stage with label owner LABAT, who takes care of the A-side while the German producer is on duty on the flip. 

The overall vibe of the release is a blend of House and Electro elements with a dirty, dusty lo-fi finish. The B2 track "Vibrate" featuring Kandinsky, here available as an exclusive premiere, makes no exception. It is the most Electro-ish tune of the EP with a good old breakbeat rhythmic pattern overlayed with low key, compressed acid lines. This one is really nasty and 100% genius. We love it and also highly recommend the other track from Fries "TBHIDC" which follows the same path but in a more housy way.
