The villa was packed with luxury items and elegant attire. Fancy aristocrats and glamorous divas walked proudly between rooms in a celebration of "decadance" and profitability. The view from the sprawling estate was spectacular, it looked down upon the bay below as the waves roared against the cliff face. Up on the hillside a party was underway, dancing was encouraged but not compulsory. The music echoed through the glow of the evening air. 

NEP's "Decadence" is being reissued by Fox and His Friends. Originally recorded in 1989 the track is a sought after slow moving cut which works bizarrely well on the dancefloor.

Much like James Holden and Optimo, Ivan Smagghe is one of the most influential figures behind the founding and continuation of H+P over the past decade.

As such, it is tremendously exciting to release something by his new Smagghe & Cross project. In collaboration with the film composer and programmer, Rupert Cross - who counts big Hollywood blockbusters and Kanye West on his impressive resume - Smagghe & Cross has recently been picking up acclaim through superb releases on Vladimir's Offen Music, Ransom Note and their remix of The Junto Club has been a staple round these parts. Not only that, but the record also features none other than the bold Matthew Herbert (!!!) doing his best Robert Wyatt impression.
Additionally, as a very big fan of the compelling Honey Soundsystem 'Generator' series, I'm really chuffed to have commissioned a special remix featuring Jackie House with Kevin Clarke performing words by DJ Marke B. Swedish Superstars, Samo DJ & Pedrodollar also turn in a trippy groover AND as the icing on the cake; have enlisted the services of the DJ who played the first ever H+P party back in 2007, Pilooski- completing another circle during the 10th anniversary year..

Anatolian Weapons - Sunbeam Dance

Articulat is the (new) artist name of Ovidiu Stanciu, a Romanian dj/producer living in Rotterdam. Under the moniker Manikin, he worked on several concept albums with titles like Popular Mechanics, Taxim and Grandma’s Attic Revival over the last couple of years. While selecting tracks for this debut EP it felt like curating a ‘best of’, and we chose to put three thriving and pounding slow-beat bangers on the A side, and to show more of Articulat’s versatile style on the B-side. Expect experimental electronic songs inspired by themes like Steampunk and Romanian folklore, very precisely engineered to experience storytelling in the most physical way.

Label Missing Letters is proudly releasing a remix EP with FRANGIE following up their  debut, which was released earlier this year. Now they’ve invited a variation of befriended DJ’s and producers to repaint the tracks with their special love for the dance floor.   FRANGIE initiates the remix EP with their own introspective lo-fi deconstruction of Love, Your Friend. In Samo DJ and J. Skugge’s version of the same track, an infectious bassline meets ambient pads to create a spaced out dub experience. An experience that resonates with Bella Boo’s mystical rework of jazzy DDML, where trippy chords and melodies transcends into a different dimension. Bella most recently contributed with the track boyboy to compilation album Studio Barnhus Volym 1. PREMIERE : Frangie - Love, Your Friend (Samo DJ & J. Skugge's Space Dub)

The small boat bobbed on the water, looking for a place to dock before dawn broke. The two brothers scanned the shore before honing in on a derelict cove shrouded in darkness. They couldn't be caught, they had travelled for too long to risk their cover being blown. As they moored up and stepped on to solid ground, they gazed up at the famous skyline before them; a sight they had only ever seen before in books and paintings. This would be their new home; a place where they could make their names known. The unsuspecting city had no idea what they were in for...

Lithuanian-based producer Pletnev returns to local label Le Temps Perdu for his second EP, following his 2017 debut with 'St. Bones'. His diverse productions have taken him to labels like SZE, Fleeting Wax, Meda Fury and Hard Fist, with sounds spanning percussive tools to EBM and leftfield cuts. His forthcoming EP, 'Voranto Bros', features blinding remixes from CockTail d'Amore bosses Discodromo and Biologic Records' Lion's Drums.

PREMIERE: Pletnev - Voranto Bros [Le Temps Perdu]

Alexander Pletnev started an entirely new journey under his own name two years ago. Release after release on forward thinking and respected labels like Media Fury, KUMP, Fleeting Wax, SZE and Hard Fist, he has built a solid discography of incredible diversity - from percussive DJ tools to viscous synthetic EBM to dreamy weirdness.
His latest EP titled "Voranto Bros" is a long awaited return to Le Temps Perdu and the prime example of refined musical storytelling. Title track is a cinematic tale, a sound novel about two migrant brothers hitting the shores of USA in the dawn of XXth century to became vicious gangsters, broken souls ruling the night of NYC. Dusty tape hiss, off kilter percussions and melodies all alternate to later sink under the weight of heavy drums. While Hope They Wont Come Back is a severe instrumental ballad with low drums, talking bass lines and noisy guitar riffs - five minutes inside confused man's mind.
On a remix front, Cocktail D'Amore's head honchos Discodromo strip Voranto Bros down to bear bones to deliver EBM style dance floor burner. And Harold Boué aka Abstraxion aka Lion's Drums of Biologic Records fame delivers menacing remix for Hope They Won't Come Back, a dark & mystic journey, which unwinds slowly and builds up to unexpected climax.

PREMIERE : Pletnev - Voranto Bros (Discodromo Remix)

UK based Tecwaa background is in the early Yorkshire rave scene, which makes you understand his music on a deeper level. His tasteful turning of knobs on the Roland 303 takes you back to in time to an early morning somewhere round 1990 with a diesel generator pushed to the limit roaring somewhere in the background. But Tecwaa music is a lot more than a trip in time: the sound is modern and extremely well produced where the few but exquisite sounds hook in to each other naturally and creates a round solid groove. 
The sound varies from airy and light in ”Xentaeh” to warmer and heavier in the other track ”Ci”. What goes for the sound overall is the somewhat surprising elements in how the songs develop, both in rhythm and sound wise. Teecwa music bare traces of trance, rave, early techno and so on but you could call it ”uplifting, psychedelic leftfield electro” and this is his first release on Höga Nord Rekords.

PREMIERE #675 | Tecwaa - Xentæh [Höga Nord Rekords] 2019

I like to explore music, all kinds of music, coming from all around the world. That is true, that during parties I play exclusively dance music, I try to bring joy to the guest and make them dance using modern and classic club sounds. I want to send the message that electronic music is not only parties, dancing and entertainment. 

For a long time I had this though about not-dance-oriented one hour long journey or journeys, with a palette full of creations from Japanese electronics to partly live 80s Polish and other nations' music, jazz, ambient and so on. 

Have a good one! It will be soft, for a few minutes maybe harsh, maybe a bit sad but this journey will make you smile too.
