He dreaded the morning after the night before; he was no stranger to these feelings of melancholy and anxiety. Despite the knowledge of such impending doom, it never seemed to stop him, or anyone else he rubbed shoulders with for that matter. During those moments of elation, stints of euphoria and unrequited love, it all seemed worth it. But as with anything, what goes up must come down...

Following recent releases from Club Bizarre and Aurum Miles, Blindetonation boss Kezokichi steps up for the first time on his own imprint with two original tracks backed up by remixes from Freudenthal and Arthur Johnson. The Tokyo-based producer and DJ has built up a cult following through his distinct take on hypnotic electronic sounds via both his label and his own Back To Back events thrown during his time living in London. His new EP titled Ess Tie flaunts these signature sounds, moving through eerie, tripped-out rhythms, cosmic atmospheres and deep rugged bass lines.

Escaped Records returns with it's first digital release "So Many Memories'. This EP centers on an original track by Romain FX, founder of Hong Kong's Fauve Radio, that lays out catchy vocals over bright piano chords that combine for an uplifting early 90's nostalgia. Berlin duo Ca$hminus composed of Gratts from Belgium, and Eluize from Australia, strip the track leaving us with raw covered vocals mashed with analogue style beats and an overall grit that makes you want to move. Transmuted once more, Reba from France, shifts the sunny original to a heavy trance revival packing it with high energy, it's dancefloor ready.

Ca$hminus' delivers a raw and tender cover version of the Romain FX original. Not using any of the original parts but re-recording everything  (synths, drums, vocals) themselves, the Belgo-Australiana duo take he track into completely different territory.

The EP consists of 4 deep & heady grooves made with a variety of gear including an E-MU XL-7, Moog Mother 32 along with samples & soft synths.
“When I listen back to my music, I’m instantly taken back in time - to the place where I made the song, the mood I was in, who I was with, how I was feeling at the time etc. I make music pretty much every day so to me it kind of feels like the cataloging of memories. It’s abstract but it feels like my version of a diary or a form of meditation or personal therapy. Memory Foam is a collection of songs (& for me, memories) that I made towards the end of spring as I was approaching the beginning of a pretty major life transition.”

The full moon lit up the road, casting a brighter glow than the dim street lamps that bordered each side. It was her nightly ritual, watching the comings and goings from her window, hoping to catch wind of a neighbourhood drama or some strange activity only carried out during the nocturnal hours. But nothing stirred, not even the rumble of a car ignition or a stray cat sniffing out its next meal. Everything was quiet, peaceful. Too peaceful... 

Next up on Massimiliano Pagliara's Funnovojere Records, lovingly named after a small beach in southern Puglia, is an instalment from London-based producer Harsh Puri under his Reformed Society alias. Joining the likes of Rotciv, Armonics and James Booth on the label, Reformed Society brings a collection of raw, harmonic synth cuts that blur the boundaries between techno and house. With the first drafts getting the seal of approval from the Guv'nor himself, the late Andrew Weatherall, you can be assured Cosmic Perspective's celestial synth melodies will have you beguiled from lift off to touch down.

PREMIERE: Reformed Society - Sci-Fi Love Story [Funnovojere]

Aspetuck has been delivering his quality take on house, breakbeat and electro from the woods in Vermont, US, where he is residing. Picking up pace over the last year, the young producer is pushing the envelope with releases for labels like This Is Our Time, RDV Music and his eponymous record label. Now finding his way onto Cairo Xpress, Aspetuck continues in high spirits.

Premiere: Aspetuck - Clipper [Cairo Xpress]

The sheets were soft and luxurious to the touch as he climbed into the expansive bed and rolled around in the midst of the darkness. He'd never felt linen like it, so delicate and comforting in such a grand room which lay beneath the stars. He popped a pill to help him sleep and gazed upwards into the black sky up above as the stars danced majestically atop a canvas of darkness. Soon he would fall asleep, comforted by the soft, dense warmth of a dream far away. 

Aspetuck is a producer whom we have been keeping track of for a while now. Having released a number of EP's independently he now joins forces with Cairo Xpress for a new record which is both promising and prosperous for the upcoming producer.

Past releases on NYC’s Throne of Blood, France's Correspondant & Days of Being Wild or Belgium's Smile/PIAS, were previously supported by a diverse cast of contemporary dj’s such as Bill Brewster, Marc Pinol, ALFOS, Daniel Avery, Jennifer Cardini, Cosmo Vitelli, Ivan Smagghe or Jimpster.  "Breaking The Ritual" is the first extract of the "Child Of The Sun EP" and sees Jimi After venturing further in cross-pollination with a strong cinematic, yet metallic feeling which effortlessly hybrids Rephlex esthetics with vintage cosmic and heavy kraut synths.
