Much loved underground community organisation Parry Talks has announced the release of their sophomore, record label, charity compilation, Parry Talks Alumni Volume II. The 4 track compilation comes off the back of an extremely successful debut release which raised $1500 for NSW Aboriginal Legal Service. Now the tracklist has opened up to Sydney/Eora’s noisy neighbours in Melbourne/Naarm for a charity release with 100% of the revenue being dedicated to Smugglers of Light. This digital only, bandcamp exclusive release features a who's who of the incredible underground scenes, featuring Purient, DAWS, Posture and Glen S.

The charity which every cent of the compilation will contribute funds to is Smugglers of Light.
The Foundation was created to provide assistance to young indigenous musicians and youth at risk through programs of taking film-makers and musicians to their communities. The charity introduces songwriting and musicianship and performance skills for First Nations communities, assists n the provision of musical education and training to persons in the area of youth and indigenous music, in order to improve the outreach of musical education and storytelling in Australia, to facilitate musical development and innovation in Australian indigenous communities; and to encourage the performance of contemporary community music.

Standing united against social exclusion in order to contest cultures of isolation, racism, and discrimination, R4R organizes grassroots resistance and campaigns against the oppression of refugee communities in Germany and Europe enabling freedom of movement for the most marginalized. The compilation is free, but all proceeds will go directly to the Refugees4Refugees network.

The first X-Kalay release of 2022 finds Melbourne’s Escape Artist traversing wormholes, complete with an assist from the ever-prolific Roza Terenzi.

Picking up where a 2019 Salt Mines debut left off, ‘Wanna Dance’ allows proggy tendencies to flourish across some mind-altering electro. Portals to higher planes of consciousness and uncharted star systems fling open as widescreen, celestial pads make way for lysergic climax.

Ramping up the intensity with her ‘Bassbin Mix’, Roza Terenzi jumps on remix duties; another electro workout, but this time more urgent, more propulsive. Bringing the tribal-breakbeat pressure in spades, it’s quintessential Terenzi.

More prog, but leaning further towards cosmic techno percolation, ‘Levitator’ finds mazy arpeggios in seemingly infinite ascent. ‘Time Knife’, on the other hand, is a radiant, beatless highlight. Deploying cascading synth arps to truly mesmeric effect, it sees the Antipodean achieve sublime tension in a rare moment of introspection.

He specialises in rave-influenced sounds, Chicago house, and disco, but his 20-year career has ranged from jungle to footwork to freestyle (he literally has it all!). His strong reputation as a ‘genre bending’ producer is one that is fully deserved and he proves just that in this record. On the B side we welcome back Soundbwoy Killah and Denham Audio, both providing a killer remix to top off one of our most exciting projects yet.

Times are tough. The pandemic and economic fallout are affecting lives and businesses in many different ways and to different degrees.

Especially hard hit are the clubs and bars, particularly independent, underground clubs. While it is vitally important these places remain closed until safe to reopen, it’s possibly even more important that they do reopen. People need a place to let loose, be themselves and dance, even more so after all of this.
That’s why we're launching Devolver, a series of releases aimed directly at dance floors for their eventual return.

85% of proceeds will go towards helping local struggling clubs get back on their feet, while we have also chosen to donate 15% to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund from 21/06 through to 28/06, who play a huge role in fighting racial inequality.

We've handpicked a variety of local producers with an aim at reaching across the spectrum of different dance floor moods that we so sorely miss.

2020 was definitely a sad year for club culture, but it reminded us of the importance of sharing in our communities, especially in the times to come. So, what better way to start 2021 than inviting a bunch of talented crafters around the anvil? We’re thrilled to unveil the fourth volume of the ‘Crysta Ampullaris’ series: an eclectic blend of works by friends, artists we love and – as usual – La Forge’s core producer unit.
More ambitious, this extended compilation brings together 13 tracks from top-tier French producers Saint-James, Scarlet, Aval Douar, Atomic Moog, Vina Konda, JKS and Raven, as well as Swiss army knife Hermeth, alongside regular blacksmiths Shonen Bat, Nigm, Ayuji, Slowglide and Lebird. It results in a wide-ranging and emotionally charged patchwork of highly energetic breakbeats, electro and techno bangers, deep introspective explorations and futuristic sonic oddities. Like a hopeful prayer for our beloved dancefloors to re-open soon !
