The emerging collective of artists, led by Raz Olsher, which form Bassically have been causing a stir with their humanised interpretation of house music classics. Their awe-inspiring live performances have gained the support of Kerri Chandler, Shadow Child, Matthew Herbert, Âme and DJ Zinc, in addition to landing them releases on labels such as Noir Music and Black Butter Records. The group now return to Fossil Sounds with ‘Introducing 02’ which includes remixes from Futureboogie’s, Bristol-based producer Maxxi Soundsystem and the multifaceted artist Chris Watson and Vamos Music’s Ollie Weeks joining forces. ‘Walk Right In’ swings with tight kicks, bubbling bass, rattling shakers, soulful vocals and subtle key before Maxxi Soundsystem’s remix goes darker with thumping sub-frequencies, shuffling synths, reworked and chopped up vocals and slick hats. On "Human Beauty" the spanish staple Kid Simius and Tender Games join forces to create a powerful single.
Kid Simius, who is known for his production in a lot of different genres and collaboration with many well known acts like Paul Kalkbrenner, Magit Cacoon, Marteria, Siriusmo, has been shifting more toward dance music this year and with Tender Games - who celebrated a string of well received goovers in 2019 - they created "Human Beauty".
The track is a homage to 90's rave culture:  a bass-heavy, emotional track that makes you dance as well as think. Pitched vocals fuse together with a layer of synths, arps and a floating jungle break. Lyrically the song revolves around the ever shifting standards of beauty, aestethic and the fact that chasing trends is a never ending rat race.

It’s 2020, the dusty Pets plain spreads out before you. Nothing but sand, cactus plants and a bottle of good old red eye are all you have for company. Then you hear the shots. They’re fired with such flare they can only be from one man… Renato Cohen AKA the ‘Lone Ranger’
He fires in such a way you can’t help but move your feet. Then you move your hips. Then your head. Then your heart. You’re in funky town now and Renato’s the mayor. He leads with the disco bubbles and slinky restrained funk of ‘Lone Ranger’ before moving on to the heavier weaponry; the cowbell riddled, hoover-rattled stomper ‘Deocleciana’ and the bassline-plunging, deep funk hustling swagger of ‘Bismuth’.
And it seems our lonesome techno patrolman isn’t working alone… ‘Bismuth’ is also backed by an incredible remix from Jennifer Cardini. Tibi Dabo returns to Crosstown Rebels with his second EP of the year The Distance We Share. His third EP will follow in the Autumn in advance of his debut album forthcoming in 2021. Globally revered American producer David Morales turns in two outstanding remixes that demonstrate contrasting aspects of his illustrious career.

The Distance We Share sees beautiful melodies standing both individually and combined to create an ethereal atmosphere. Starting with golden keys that drop into a twinkling lullaby, rising and falling throughout the track before ending with danceable energy. Komorebi opens with melancholic chords, the bassline moves at a relaxed pace over a rhythm of hi-hats and cowbell, sensual distorted vocals and delicate chimes induce a feeling of romance. The first remix of Komorebi from David Morales sees him add his legendary Red Zone stamp of New York influenced house music, building tension with darker tones, chugging percussion and hypnotic loops. On the Diridim Mix Morales turns the vibe to that of his newest label, with classic soulful electronics adding a deep sense of warmth.

Still in its infancy, the Tibi Dabo project from Max Guardans has seen his unique emotive take on electronic music and sound design catch the attention of influential figureheads. His debut release the Ende EP on Sasha's Last Night on Earth imprint demonstrating his remarkable talent.
