"Hey this is Skwirl here to gab at you briefly about the records we have coming for our first thematic cluster! The theme is Circadian Rhythms and so as you might expect the records are presented to you by time of day. We have daylight hours, dusk, night and afterhours selections for you.

Our dusk record, “Supernatural Beast City” is by a gorgeous friend and a loveable nutter Ed Flis who hilariously goes by Duran Duran Duran. He's far too humble to say but he’s a bit of a breakcore legend and golly gosh we are lucky to have him.

This is balls to the face rambunctious progressive jungle stylings taking inspiration from anime, sunny beachside locales and the loveable filth of Berlin. I’m listening to SBC as I write this so if there are random interjections of heavy breathing, face gurning and egregious use of exclamation points you’ll know why.

There’s a lot going on here: kicking from the spooky alleyway slinking of “Salt Lamp” to full frontal (!) breakcore assault of “Just Feel It (w/Dev/null)”, looking off into the middle distance to catch a glimmer of the 90s in “94Rinse.out”… and that’s just the first side (and I’m not giving away all the tricks here…just go listen to it!!) Supernatural Beast City is at once pleasant and dire, playful and goofy, nostalgic and forward thinking, and all underpinned by serious amounts of b-b-b-bass.

This sparkling gem of a track pushed all the right buttons with a euphoric attitude that only comes from years of experience of rocking the best dancefloors around the world week in week out, and now the label is set to take the story to the next level with 3 diverse, exciting new remixes.

The enigmatic Rich Lane from Newcastle Under Lyme (who also records under aliases such as Original Disco Thing and Chug Norris) has been gaining plaudits for his musical creations that loosely fall into the realms of what are variously tagged “Slo-Mo”, “Chug”, “Nu-Disco” and even “NEW New Beat”. Hailing from the current hotbed of exciting musical evolution, Argentina’s Alejo Gonzalez (renowned for his show on Radio 90.3FM Delta) has joined forces with fellow DJ and producer Max Blade to create a beautifully melancholic interpretation of “Sad Robot”, a perfect, understated finale for this remix package.
