Amsterdam-based Afghan-Dutch artist Daidu has been DJing, producing, and crafting tasteful edits for more than a decade. He is always experimenting with genre boundaries and has a meticulous approach to sound design that fuses the synthetic and the organic in innovative ways. After contributing to AliA & DTM Funk’s Black Gravity Rhythms compilation on San-Kofa Rhythm Records, he continues to make waves in the studio with this latest oﬀering. Opener 'Arpenin' is a chapter-spanning, in-your-face 909 roller driven by a bouncy bassline and mutating arpeggios, building to several atmospheric synth liftoﬀs. It's infused with future soul while harking back to early Detroit tech and oozes elegant power and sophistication. The shape-shifting 'Circular Discontinuity' blends Daidu’s jazzy keys and percussive jams with a rubbery, oﬀ-grid techno rhythm. Gradually evolving into a rich electronic sound and propelled by synths that reach an intense summit, it's lush techno with a rare musicality and freeform sense of soul.

Dream Chimney proudly presents ‘Tidal Figures’ the new EP from Paris based producer Sim Fossil. The release is a deep dive into cosmic soundscapes, synth melodies, heavy basslines weaving together elements of house, nu-beat, and ambient into a truly unique, low-BPM fusion. Across four original tracks, ‘Tidal Figures’ explores a quiet duality of space and time. ‘Echo Marina’ and ‘Nyrosine’ bask in a soft, melodic glow, while ‘Null Meridian’ and ‘Backcurrent’ plunge listeners into a darker, even slower synthetic haze. The tracks are all driven by deep, slow basslines and shimmering synths that feel heavy and submerged, reminiscent of a half-speed Harold Faltermeyer adrift in an underwater voyage. 

Adding to the EP's allure, ‘Tidal Figures’ features two remixes from revered artists Max Essa and Project Sandro. Latvian-born Eugenie aka @__geneva._ is a DJ and music curator known for her sensual, genre-blending sets that effortlessly combine hypnotic downtempo, leftfield electronica, and progressive house. Formerly a creative director she left the corporate world to fully embrace her deep-rooted passion for music — and has since emerged as a distinctive voice in the European electronic scene.

She's resident at Fauve Radio and co-organizer of a series of curated, offbeat parties in France, where she showcases both local and international talent. Her sound is defined by emotional storytelling, playful irony, and a nostalgic nod to the late 90's and early 2000's — always delivered with a sleek, seductive edge.

Geneva is also the creator and host of ONS (One Night Stand), a podcast series exploring themes of eroticism and sensuality in music. Through ONS, she delves into the emotional and physical language of sound, crafting immersive listening experiences that go far beyond the dance floor.

With a growing presence across European venues, radio platforms, and underground parties, Geneva continues to push boundaries with a style that’s both intelligent and unapologetically intimate.

Canopy is a Portuguese based label now in its fourth year, run by New Zealand born Emmanuel Dalton aka Sumosui. Reissuing forgotten tropical gems of synth infused 70s, 80s & 90s funk, disco, boogie and derivatives of these genres that emerged from the creative meeting pots of West Africa & The Caribbean. The other side of the label presents remixes of these vintage works, in an Afro-disco direction, through to contemporary house stylings as well as original works inspired by these motifs. Canopy artists include Captain Planet, Opolopo, Bosq, Aroop Roy, Kiko Navarro, Joi N’Juno and a host of colourful creative talent

Welcoming Lontra to the Canopy family, this release is the first in a number of exciting projects. Lontra is Brazilian born, Colombian based producer, and musician, Guille Katorzi. The inspiration and influences for this project were drawn from diverse sources, including disco, house, Nigerian boogie and Afrobeat. The instrumentals were written and produced in Bogotá with Guille laying down the guitar and bass parts which the songs were built upon. After sending the demos to vocalist Sir Jean (Voilaaa/Sir Jean & NMB Afrobeat Experience), he was thrilled to receive a warm response and travelled to France in 2023 to record vocals in the singers' hometown of Lyon. Returning to Bogotá, a selection of top brass musicians contributed their blazing horns to the project. 

Opening up, ‘Money, Money’ serves up a lively disco beat with percussive Afrobeat highlights, funky guitar licks and Afrobeat inspired horn parts, backed by an irresistible bassline, setting the scene for  Sir Jean's lyrical warning "money cannot buy your soul". Dropping some of the Afrobeat accents and staying closer to the centre line, ‘Life Is Movement’ is a dancefloor focused track where Katorzi's guitar hook pairs with a restless bassline over which Sir Jean's vocal delivery shines. 

The flipside begins with a sensuous overture on ‘Mysterious’. A loose Afro-beat and guitar syncopation provides an inviting space for the horn section's refrains and solos. The arrangement allows plenty of room for the listener to become intoxicated by the groove, before Sir Jean opens his heart with the emotive ode to someone we learn of only as..."Mysterious". Closing out proceedings with ‘The Lyon & The Hunter’, Sir Jean sings a warning wrapped in metaphors while Lontra throws down a club focused punch that dances between funk, house and Afro while the scorching horns set the lot aflame. The culmination of different inspirations and intonations imbues the project with a vivacity and richness in colour that reflects the multi-cultural assembly of players. 

PREMIERE : Lontra feat Sir Jean - Mysterious

Well over a decade has passed since the birth of "Dedication", Mikey Yamada and Felix Dickinson’s collaborative band. The project was born way back in 2005, during one of Dickinson’s frequent DJing trips to the Far East. While staying in Japan, the Cynic Records boss found himself in Yamada’s studio, alongside new friend Tsuyoshi Kosuga (a bassist and guitarist most famous for his work as part of Cro-Magnon), and carpenter-turned-keyboard wizard Botch. The name Dedication was borrowed from the clothing brand Yamada had been developing for some time. Felix took the recording of that first session back to the UK, where Kyle Chandler (his partner in Foolish and Sly) added some vocals. That track, ‘It’s A Dedication’ was released on Cutting Edge in Japan the following year. Since then, Dedication material has slipped out frustratingly infrequently, a reflection of the occasional nature of their recording sessions. Aside from a high profile – and well received – 12” on DFA in 2014 (“I Ain’t Gonna Tell You”, which was backed with a scorching rework by DJ Kaos), the outfit’s output has been limited to a handful of tracks on hard-to-find compilations. Here, two of those in-demand compilation cuts appear on 12” for the first time, via Claremont 56, the long-running label operated by Dickinson’s old friend Paul “Mudd” Murphy. On the A you’ll find the sublime “Let Me Rock You”, a track that first emerged on Jason Kincade’s Mangiami collection, a tribute to the legendary NYC bar-turned-midweek party venue of the same name. Tactile, groovy and emotion-rich, the track sounds like a long lost, late ‘80s remix by Frankie Knuckles – perhaps the Godfather of House’s legendary reworks of Womack & Womack’s “Missing Persons Bureau”, and Chaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody” – with Botch’s fluid piano solos recalling the similarly superb work of Satoshi Tomie. It’s little less than a dreamy, wide-eyed dancefloor hug. On the flip you’ll find “Pito Deep”, a track named after a deep underwater trench that was recorded after Dedication’s band members swapped instruments. Powered by a headlinegrabbing synth bassline, tidal guitar flourishes, crunchy Clav lines and spacey synth solos, the track has been in demand since it first appeared on Mule Music’s CD-only The Definitive Japanese Scene compilation way back in 2009. Finally, this winding chunk of deep disco brilliance has finally made it to wax.

They are among the emerging artists of that new German scene of kids that make house inspired by old Jazz and Funk records. The boys are mad about rare vinyl. And they love to make music with a positive spirit. Yes, there is something sunny in their tracks. Something that instantly makes you want to move. We heard so many mixtapes that started with a COEO track. Makes sense: They are perfect to set a vibe. A good mood. But if you know that the COEO boys work in a studio over the roofs of Munich, with a fantastic view over the lights of the city, with a great vibe where you see all the glammy colors of the light in the night..Ö then you understand why COEO's music sounds as it sounds.
