For anyone familiar with our international DJ Mix series, Anna Dubowick is a familiar name. A longtime friend of your favourite label, 2022 found the Ukrainian artist commencing working on her debut EP “As Within So Without” from what was to become the epicentre of military events in her home country. Synths and pad atmospheres sculpturing by the sounds and emotions of the surreal surroundings in her hometown of Kharkiv, after 100 days of war Anna moved to safe harbour in the city of NYC to begin life anew and where she began incorporating syncopated rhythms and rubbery breakbeats into the mix. With “As Above So Below”, the first track from her debut EP arriving on the Autumn Equinox 21st of September -  in polarity to Anna’s birthday on the Summer Solstice - so begin the emergence to what has become an emotionally charged spiritual journey into observation and reflection on such thought provoking themes as life and death, evolution and сollective intelligence. As one who has experienced the absurdity of war and its effects on family and home. 

In Anna’s own words: “As Above So Below is dedicated to passionate spirits, to those determined to live their lives on their own terms. Frequencies that wake up secret impulses. The ghost of your deep-seated desires, of your hidden thoughts: an eternal seduction with a sense of sweet melancholy.”

PREMIERE : Trudge - Drop

DJ Seinfeld presents an immersive EP exploring the balance between fragility and force. Sakura EP is out on Deep Sea Frequency in April. 
The four tracks draw from a multitude of inﬂuences. Breaks, electro, dub and trance elements band together with a familiar lo-ﬁ approach where distortion acts as an instrument of its own.
Title track "Sakura" is a subaquatic dose of old school electro with swollen bass and fuzzy harmonics. Sagrada brandishes swirling melodies with layers of detail whilst Belvedere uses looped breaks and a sub-driven bassline to build animated funk. Battery rounds out the EP playing with delicate melodic inﬂections over a cavernous low end.

Miss Kittin & The Hacker release ‘Lost Tracks Vol. 2’ on Josh Cheon’s Dark Entries label on 25th June. We’ve got the exclusive premiere of ‘Love On 26’ from it above.

Miss Kittin & The Hacker, real names Michel Amato and Caroline Hervé, worked on a number of EPs together in the late ‘90s that landed on DJ Hell’s International DJ Gigolo label.

Their long-revered electro sound is influenced by 1980s synthpop and post-punk bands like Fad Gadget, D.A.F., Liaisons Dangereuses and Yazoo.

‘Lost Tracks Vol. 2’ contains four previously unreleased demos recorded between 1997 and 1999.

Speaking about the track, Hervé told DJ Mag, “It’s a track we were not really satisfied with in the beginning. I had to sing straight live, as you can hear.

“The lyrics were about a joke we often said to each other: it’s not in the music business we will find a family."

All the tracks on the release have been transferred from the original DAT tapes and remastered for vinyl.
