Our eighth premiere in the Sessions’ catalogue happens to be directly from multi-talented Heap himself, who not only runs his Vienna-based label Neubau, but is also about to drop his first ever solo debut. 
Amour Propre title, according to Heap, is based on a philosophical concept, making to think of “one’s importance of self-respect and the contradictory connection of self-love and self-portrayal” that seems to be predominant characteristics nowadays.
Raw and electrified notes, bending into a rough kicker line could be heard throughout the entire track, which is yet another symbol of “uncompromising”, “functional” and “honest” in the music, released and out on Neubau in the early April dates of 2019.

Heap - Amour Propre

There was a jigsaw sprawled dismantled across the floor, the pieces were in parts. A thousand dotted pieces each with a formative place in a story waiting to be built. The empty house was quiet during the summer holidays, board games were all that they had to keep themselves entertained. It was an old haunted mansion, busy with the rush and bubble of spirits and ghosts... It was a magnificent puzzle in itself, yet one which you'd not be inclined to explore. In the middle of the countryside, it was easy to become lost. 

Up next on a label very close to home, Insult To Injury, is an EP from Type 303. A rave inspired release drawing upon elements of hardcore and acid, as banging as ever and as destructive on the dancefloor as they come. Here is a remix from Japanese producer Shun, one to watch, as he reworks the lead track 'Thousand Pieces' into bits.

The Chica is one of the Latinoamerican female voices that has been stirring up her heart and voice for several years. The Chica is an exaggeration of reality, a mix, a mutation. She has unleashed her madness in Mendoza's "Porno Party” and other parties such as "Club Sauna" and "Recreo Festival" in Santiago, Chile. Two years ago she released her debut album “Soy Fan” with the DDR label, and last year she also released her second title “Paradancers” through Discos Pato Carlos, on this occasion we are proud to let go and enter deeper in her delirium with her latest release “GRRR”. Reflections is an exploration of dance floor narratives, intending to induce a trance-like state of mind through a very physical sound experience. Drums, voices and machines come together to create a ritualistic, almost visual atmosphere.
Title track "Reflections" premiered here, is a relentless banger which immediately takes over the room and floods it with sound. It's an intense ride under the spell of hypnotizing drums, untamable bass and tension artifacts. It's an assault on the castle, a Mad Max convoy battle, a ritualistic transformation.

After a family affair of SoHaSo's first NOWHERE installment the Amsterdam label around head-honcho Nuno Dos Santos is set to release the second part of the series bringing not only artists but different styles together. NOWHERE02 includes music from label mainstays like Ian Pooley or David Ellesmere as well as new cuts from aspiring artists such as Tjade or w1bo or long term musicians like Tripeo or Mark Du Mosch. The latter and Rotterdam-based beat-maker delivers flashy insights into his creative being and delivers a track that unites the beauty of an old-school bass line with  a still funky and groovey note and tops it with deep, charming and intriguing chords that keep the listener hooked throughout the take. In A Flash (e) is somewhat of a dubby approach that unfolds its full potential over a housey clattering bass line, which is designed to roll over those (shut down) dance floors.

Tuskegee Music producer D'Marc Cantu teams up with Danny Passarella on Passarella Records for their second collab, entitled 'The Future Has A Silver Lining 2'.

Following on from their previous collab in 2019 on Les Disques De La Mort, Michigan-based artist D'Marc Cantu re-joins forces with London-based producer and Passarella Death Squad's founder Danny Passarella. Passarella Records has previously had the likes of Perc and Oliver Ho both featuring alongside Danny and now sees the regular studio partners collaborate again on their next analogue- driven release.

'Survival' opens with dystopian soundscapes, splashing rides and a broken-beat rhythm before 'Reality' locks in a solid groove with analogue kicks, arpeggiated keys and decaying claps. Next, 'Appearance' energetically canters with layered cymbals, distorted snares and sharp synths until 'Memory' closes proceedings with an evolving bass, subtle drums and a hauntingly atmospheric sound floor.

Smart clothes, nice smile, good manners... He talked a bit too much though. She was sure she'd mastered the art of dating now; the do's and the don'ts, the conversation starters, the deal breakers and the escape routes. She had a checklist and it was imperative they met all the criteria. Nobody slipped through the cracks anymore, she knew exactly what she wanted and she wouldn't settle for anything less.  

Listening through Rouen-based musician and Steeple Remove member Arno Vancolen's debut solo album, you can hear the scores of influences that helped shape it. Drawing from his background in post-punk, krautrock, industrial and noise, as well as his work in electronic music with the likes of Laurent Garnier, 6 Fragments blends elements of classic minimalism, indie rock and avant-garde. Released via EPM Music, the LP merges his passion for both band and electronic, matching ambient drone sounds, driving, linear instrumentals and shimmering electronics with synthetic loops and heady guitars.
