Tortured Soul’s sound is reminiscent of neo-soul groups like Jamiroquai or Brand New Heavies, while also being influenced by the contemporary freshness of house purveyors like Louie Vega, and nu-disco artists like Soul Clap and Purple Disco Machine.

The new single from Tortured Soul is a quirky, upbeat disco-inspired track, inviting listeners to wear their heart on their sleeve. Radial Gaze and Geopard Tourist present Cactus Chronicles, a captivating EP on the Epicure Records label. The first track, also titled "Cactus Chronicles," blends hypnotic sounds with danceable rhythms, creating an immersive and magnetic atmosphere. Abstrack Records est de retour avec un nouvel EP qui fait la part belle aux instruments et à ceux qui en jouent. La formation angevine Auroboros, émanant de Freaks Pop, organisation historiquement sœur d’Abstrack nous offre vingt minutes d’un jam rock, progressif et cos- mique.
«Camel» semble comme une longue poursuite, une progression vers un point de fuite qui se dérobe. L’inexorable accélération du tempo et la montée en puissance des instruments semblent nous mener vers un paroxysme inimaginable.

A la faveur d’un break où tout est étrangement plus rapide et calme à la fois, on aperçoit cet horizon, on croit même l’atteindre quelques instants, les percussions s’évanouissant. Mais l’ascension reprend et la transe n’est pas négociable. Le flot puissant des énergies instrumen- tales emporte avec lui les immobiles et les sceptiques.

Sur la face B, deux remix très différents complètent le tableau. Romain FX distille l’essence dancefloor de «Camel». Avec une ap- proche cosmique et presque orientale, l’ascension onirique instru- mentale accouche d’un banger de peak time, pur matériel à secouer les jambes à toute heure.
Mytron nous offre un remix plus joueur et trippé. Sept minutes d’une vibe qui semble dériver et prendre à contre pied, sans jamais rompre le groove installé patiemment, avec tribalité et presque avec humour.

DC Promo Tracks: Donald's House & DJ Chrysalis "A Curious Warmth"

Following an exciting set of Bandcamp limited edition specials recently, including ‘Smalltown Boy’ and ‘You and Me’, David Morales’ gets set to unleash his new playful production ‘Nanananena’ on DIRIDIM. Offering a chunky percussive tribal vibe, ‘Nanananena’, is all about the groove as David layers mesmerising earthy beats and hypnotic vocal chants and sublime keys, delivering a real treat for the dancers.

Not An Animal is a label born from the party debris left uncleaned from London’s infamous Bad Passion parties, as ran by Chris Stoker and Andy Bainbridge. For the next release on the East London imprint Donald’s House and fellow antipodean DJ Chrysalis give Not An Animal Records the intercontinental treatment with a four-track transpacific delivery of psyche-laden progressive house music melded with the sleazy stylistics we have come to expect and love from NAAR releases.
Melbourne native Donald’s House is the pseudonym for the sonic explorations of James Isaacs. His sound is as distinguishable as it is diverse, and his musical endeavours has seen him release on Touch From A Distance, Permanent Vacation and Wax’ O Paradiso. DJ Chrysalis, also based in Melbourne, a bubbling DJ and dance producer who has had heavy releases on Public Possession, KANN, and Plush Records Inc. The outcome of this pairing is a cohesive late-night package with an exceptionally current sound whilst somehow remaining thoughtfully reminiscent. 
‘Pound Bend’ leads with a breakbeat, and the scene is set by layers of proggy synth patterns before descending into a powerfully dark, driving bassline. Apiento takes a stab at the title cut delivering in a more introspective effort, stripping it back to a reprogrammed bass groove, infectiously enlivened by an earworm synth loop that is likely to stay with you for eternity. ‘A Curious Warmth’ drops a bassline that ploughs through a soundscape of delicately programmed drum patterns layered with pads and new-age trance synths, while a scattering of housey breaks and pads reinvigorate the track in the latter half. ‘Tingler Ring’ brings things down to a slower burn as the bassline is left to drive the cut, accented by a haunting of delay laden stabs whilst acid synths sit at the forefront bringing the EP to its close.

Raised in the vibrant Bay Area of California, Coflo’s journey through music and dance has been nothing short of extraordinary. A life-long devotee of American-style house dance and the Afro-Brazilian martial art Capoeira, Coflo seamlessly weaves these influences into his productions. As the head of A&R at Ocha Records, his original beats and remixes for Yoruba have garnered acclaim from industry legends like Louie Vega, Anané, and Osunlade. In 2023, Coflo’s remix of Ron Trent's ‘Black Magic Woman’ for Sacred Medicine, a label founded by Joe Claussell and Ron Trent, solidified his reputation as a visionary artist. Rawb Boss’s artistry is pure poetry fused with intergalactic funk, culminating in a debut album that’s as unique as it is captivating.
‘Coafeelia’ offers a dynamic and infectious collection of tracks, each telling its own story through deep, dark, and danceable grooves. From the bass-heavy ‘She Bad,’ - a soulful homage to elusive girls on the dancefloor,  to the deep house rhythms of ‘That’s What It Is,’ the funk-driven ‘Play This Game,’ the off-kilter ‘Foldgers In Your Cup,’ and the lush syncopated ‘Sedativ Medativ’ that urges listeners to learn and grow from their experiences.
