T_A_M is a pseudonym of Aberdeen’s Thomas Emslie. Moving freely
across genres and styles and tempos for the last decade, T_A_M has
released music on labels such as Local Action, Coyote Records and mostrecently on his own label, Serene Wood Sound.
Coming in sounding like a late 70s downtown NYC Post Punk Art Rockband, T_A_M’s new EP for Paradise Palms showcases his explorative nature and growth, while still maintaining his edge. Over the four tracks, he touches on influences from his broad tastes and time as a DJ, from classic indie rock, to disco, krautrock and melancholy synthpop.
The title track, Yngwie Sleep Demon is supported by an upbeat yet moody bassline and punctuated by rich, crisp melodic textures. Couldn’t Hold It In feels like a meandering stroll, the pops and interjections of the arpeggiated synths making the world seem brighter than usual, with Golden Turtle building on this feeling with a faster pace and beautifully layered melodies.
Finally Mint Greens offers a blissful otherworldly experience in its
atmospheric chiming keys and distorted strings.

Welcome to the richly rhythmic and deeply esoteric world of Zaliva-D. Based in the Chinese capital of Beijing, they’ve been circling the country’s borders for more than a decade due to the extreme difficulty of streaming music there. Zaliva-D consists of musician Li Chao and Aisin-Gioro Yuanjin, who’s responsible for their stunning live visuals. We’re very proud to present Forsaken, their 4th album, but first ever vinyl release. Wrapped around a core of gut wrenchingly ferocious kicks and haunting vocals, these tracks possess a mantra-like quality and drown the listener into a world of Chinese and South East Asian textures. Forsaken, mastered by Wouter Brandenburg, is their most well-written, organic and esoteric record to date, showing a more fragile, sensitive side. She rubbed her eyes and squinted around the room, her gaze still clouded in the early morning haze. As her vision cleared, she realised she didn't recognise her surroundings. The room felt vaguely familiar, as if she had visited it a life time ago, but she didn't live here. At least she was pretty certain she didn't. How had she come to be here? As she rose from the bed, a picture on the mantelpiece caught her eye. As she approached it, she gulped. There she was, clear as day... Her own image smiling back at her.

Following her debut last year with the razor sharp Womanhood, Orphan. Records co-founder Klein Zage returns with an EP on her own imprint, inspired by her beloved service industry. The three tracks on Tip Me Baby One More Time move through the motions; the A-Side provides a snapshot of Zage 'clocked in' while the B-Side - our pick, 'I'm Almost Certain That I'm Here' featuring fellow Orphan co-founder Joey G ii - takes things into more introspective realms, with twinkling dubwise electronics layered with Zage's wistful yet commanding vocals.

All profits from the release will be donated to the Restaurant Worker's Community Foundation Covid-19 Emergency Relief Fund as well as New York's 'Service Worker's Coalition', in light of the impact that the Covid-19 crisis is having on the restaurant industry.

Keeping in mind the « ritual » and « cosmic » adjectives often associated with his music, he built a mystical artifact fallen from the skies, quite litterally indeed. « Black Magic Rituals » is a wizzard's book full of smart spells to open the space and time continuum. Whether it is made of shimmering stratospheric soundscapes or built in between constellations of the inner world, A Strange Wedding goes beyond his own forms to explore half-step industrial leftfield dub as well as mental-driven deep techno in the style of italian masters. Oscillating from far distances to intimate odes to infinity, this crystal maze of sharp music stands as a usefull toolbox for total mind liberation, and marks a step even forward into's A Strange Wedding sonic journey.
