Israeli producer Nenor delivers a 4-tracker of impeccably produced dancefloor weapons for his second outing on Razor-N-Tape. Since releasing on Moodyman’s legendary Mahogani label a few years back and as part of duo Rabo & Snob, Nenor has been honing his craft in the studio, and now puts his skills on full display on an EP that ranges from the poppy disco house of “How Can I Be Free” to the deep Larry Heard-esque textures of “Do You Remember,” and the gritty underground bangers of  the title track and “Work That.”  He did indeed take his time on this beautifully crafted record, and the result is something quite special.

Like an undercover cop, the best grooves grip you before you even realise it's happened.
Hooked, lead track on nineteen79's latest dispatch from Planet Freakout, has you in a headlock well before it's finished building.
You can thank/blame an indecently funky bassline, skittering percussion and gently undulating arpeggios, drifting through the arrangement, floating in and out of reach.
Then the sound of woozy chaos. A people-losing-their shit synth riff riding a filter all the way to a breakdown that's warm, wonky, wired.
And that's when it finally drops - you're hooked.
On East Coast Roller, the buzz-baiting New Zealand duo go deep, showcasing a hitherto unheard side of their sonic expertise.
The bassline, hypnotic and - you guessed it - rolling, provides a rock-solid grounding for pulsing, propulsive off-beat analogue stabs and glassy eyed electric piano motifs, all punctuated with a tripping, gripping vocal sample.
The world isn't short of deep tech producers. This EP underlines why nineteen79 are serious contenders.

Unique Bristol based trio Elder Island deliver the first instalment of remixes on tracks taken from their sensational debut LP The Omnitone Collection'. With a jaw dropping line-up, part one sees the burgeoning talents of Hubie Davison, Demi Riquisimo and https://soundcloud.com/kassiansound each offer a fresh take on album tracks Vulture), You & l' and ' Fold You respectively.

Up first, Hubie Davison's ethereal take on Vulture effortlessly hypnotises, as an enticing and subtle acid melody keeps the track rooted on the dance floor. Next up having been making waves of late on his own Semi Delicious imprint, Demi Riquísimo injects a new lease of life into 'You & I With its undulating groove-riddim bassline, gliding under the irresistible vocal of band lead vocalist Katy Sargent.
