Discos Capablanca return with a record from the mysterious Detroit-based Sharif Laffrey (we know little more than his place of birth, and that he likes to ride his bike and warm weather) who brings the heat on the Turn It Up 12". Recorded in Detroit in the late 80s and released on a cassette tape compilation in 1988, the original "Turn It Up" is a long forgotten gem from the period that Electro was beginning to morph and mutate into nascent forms of Techno. Excavated by Hugo Capablanca's label, the track is presented in an edited version that stays true to the original and complemented by an Acid Dub Not Dub version that implements plenty of deranged 303 action.

The eight chapter of the infamous Slow Motion Compilation series, “Italian Dance Wave Disco Otto”, has quite some hidden gems to be discovered. Beginning with a track from Marcello Giordani DJ (half of the duo Marvin & Guy), that expresses a perfect Italian melancholic sunset (as the title also states), energetic, strong, but always poetic. Always following that “beachy” vibes we find The Caribbean House, serving a track that could last a century, and we would never mind. Electro hints mixing with deep and balearic vibes: ears glued to the headphones. Moreover, we have again Slow Motion queen, System Olympia with a track that could make even nuns sweat on the dance floor: beats and bass to die for. To close this chapter, you can pamper your ears with a angry balearic track from Gallo, not suited for the more weak hearts, that’s for sure.

System Olympia - Scandalous - Italian Dance Wave (Disco Otto)

French talent Endrik Schroeder continues his musical journey with a new single on Zone that comes with a remix from Marco Passarani.
Influenced initially by Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream and Art of Noise, Schroeder later added a love of techno, electro and Italo disco sounds to his arsenal and has now released on Interface Records amongst others. He has a key role in his native Grenoble's electronic scene and has been playlisted by artists such as Laurent Garnier and Dave Clarke.
The magnificent 'Everyday of Your Life' is a lush and glossy disco track with glistening leads and retro chords that light up the skies with heart-swelling emotions. The train track drums chug below and keep you rooted while hands will no doubt go in the air as this melodic masterpiece unfolds.
Remixer Marco Passarani is a long-time Italian legend who has released on vital labels like Peacefrog and Detroit based Alan Oldham’s ’Generator’ label as far back as the mid-nineties. Here he reworks the track into something with a lead synth that rides up and down the scale in dazzling fashion as drum fills and percussive splashes all embellish this crystalline disco groove.
These are two timeless classics once more from Zone.

Ric Piccolo (The man from Pampas)is an Argentine music producer and Dj who explores different genres such as Disco, Wave, House and Rare Grooves with experimental/leftfield concepts.
He is also digger, reworker and remixer of all obscure gems from the Argentine 70’s and 80’s scene with his mix series PampasDiscoShock and his 12” releases series AustralWorks and The Sound Of Pampas.
As a Dj, his style ranges from obscure Disco madness to the most innovative current sounds for the dancefloor. His Freestyle sets are always remembered.

Furor Exótica is an Argentinian Disco/House duo from Buenos Aires, formed in 2013 by the vocalist Viky O. and the producer Ric Piccolo.
Furor Exótica live sets combine jamming vocals with floating rhythms and synthesizers, for a non-stop dancing atmosphere.
