In a survey published on July 8th this year in the newspaper Folha de São Paulo, most respondents consider the Brazilian President (whose name will not be mentioned here) “dishonest, false, incompetent, unprepared, indecisive, authoritarian, and unintelligent”. We could not agree more! And as strong critics of the imbecile, we got really excited when we were solicited to review a track called “Fuck The President”, to be released soon on the label Suçuarana Records, the result of a collaboration between Berlin/São Paulo-based artists.

Voltags arises from the fusion between the Brazilian performer Volatille with the German producer Gats. Synthesized songs, distorted guitars, and a Cyber/Post-Punk aura accompanied by Vola's aggressive, mocking, and sexual voice.

“Chaos Center”, the duo's debut EP, carries a cellular atmosphere of telemarketing, transmedia calls that cross and intersect in a zeitgeist Cold Turkey of the current anti-virtual “pandemusic”. The album is also an exhibition of photographs by Brazilian visual artist and performer Nube Abe. In the remix duties, Martinelli and Zopelar bring quite different interpretations to increase the quality of the already solid release.

With a strong message and a compelling attitude, “Fuck The President” brings in its lyrics two more adjectives to be added to the list of attributes of the idiot: serial killer and genocidal. Brazil has lost so far almost 550.000 souls to COVID-19, mainly due to the lack of a proper mass vaccination plan to control the crisis.

The night is a time of metamorphosis and (re)birth. Sapphist Eye emerged from a parallel world where clubs and raves embody an ideal of freedom and collective experience. The project emerged 
spontaneously, the descendant in a line of strong, creative women who have helped redefine electronic music and its spaces.
After collaborations with the Barbi(e)turix collective and the Les Disques du Lobby label (alongside Naominitel), her first solo EP, ‘Another Side’ captures a very particular universe in today's techno scene, never fully choosing between the mental and the physical, dance and transcendence. Sapphist Eye independently produced this collection of tracks, which combines roundness and power without being overwhelmed by her sonic quest.
Sapphist Eye plays catchy, gripping synthetic music that harbours melodic treasures and sonic mirror games. She will be opening for CHLOÉ at Rex Club, in Paris alongside DJ Hell on the 2nd March. LISTEN TO ‘ANOTHER SIDE’ Seedy Streets, released on the 9th Feb as the teaser single, introduces the record with an EBM techno tempo heckled by supernatural vocals. The track interweaves its rhythmic efficiency with melodic flights of 
fancy that seem to set the machine's martial accents on the rails of human ecstasy. Behind its labyrinthine vocal lines lurks a story of empowerment. The more minimal Chorus Ensemble offers a 
dancefloor escape with distant kraut and cosmic reminiscences. Nothing, tinged with cold wave and industrial sounds, unfolds a long epic with more narrative overtones. Californian duo Club Tularosa, fervent promoters of Italo- and post-punk-infused techno, offer Seedy Streets a mental remix with a slightly elevated tempo, relying on an unstoppable vocal hook to turn it into a heady banger.
Sapphist Eye's aesthetic and musical approach fits in particularly well with the catalog of CHLOE's Lumière Noire label. It's a crucial step in the emergence of an already exciting figure in today's electronic music scene, whose approach is as personal as it is irresistible.
