Written during the darkest days of the Covid-19 Pandemic the tracks are deliberately imbued with a warmth and light. Teen Daze flips the energy of the original to a languid pace for a more poolside atmosphere. Cool electric keys and sparkling chords add a dreamy, hazy quality to the music. Embracing the dream house aesthetic of the original, the Desert Island Disco version offers up a breezy house vibe that moves with an energetic pace, introducing cool piano hooks and breathy vocals. Pleasure Voyage take a nostalgic turn, transporting us back to the heady days of Rimini with a fun italo-house rework packed with irresistible grooves.

On Friday 8th September Morocco was struck by the strongest earthquake on record for over a century. Hitting the High Atlas mountains, around 70 kilometres southwest of Marrakesh, the 6.8 magnitude quake has killed over 3000 people and impacted the lives of over 300,000 more.

As a way to raise funds for families and communities impacted by the disaster, we’ve rallied friends together for ‘Tadamoun: A Compilation for Moroccan Earthquake Relief’.

Compiled in collaboration with Geneva-based DJ and producer Reda Saiarh, the release features 24 tracks contributed by artists from across Europe, including Anatolian Weapons, Romain FX, Justine Forever, Cornelius Doctor, Zaatar and more. Musically it travels across many sounds and styles too, from ambient electronica, trip hop and leftfield bass to chugging Italo, jackin’ new beat and trippy techno.

All proceeds will be split 50/50 between two charities who are helping to raise money for those affected and to rebuild communities that have been devastated: Atlas Kinder, a charity who supports abandoned children in Morocco, and Insaf, a non-profit organisation that protects and supports women and children.

DC Promo Tracks: Nadeem Khan "Tu Tak Tu Tak Tutiyan" (Elado's 4am Mix)

Two years on from their widely acclaimed third album This Bit of Earth, Greg Dowling and Shane Johnson are back on Go Deepwith their latest long player. ‘What I Mean By Beautiful’ touches on the previous collection’s themes of upheaval and dislocation, digging through the lost and found of modern life, always looking for light in dark places.  The album marks something of a return to the duo’s house music roots, with a four-to-the-floor foundation underpinning many of the eleven tracks. It exudes a warm, natural sound, where samples sit with modular synths, programmed drums with live loops, and quirky plugins with obscure outboard gear. 
 
Opening track, ‘I Float in the Clouds’, sets a dramatic tone with intricately interwoven guitar and keyboard lines, fragmented, spectral vocals, and deep, melodic bass. Tempos range widely throughout the record, from the loose, low-slung grooves of ‘So They Were Changed’ and ‘High Wire’, to the infectious, mid-paced title track, to the intense house workouts of ‘You Came Into My Life’ and ‘All In Everything’. Greg and Shane’s long established dub leanings are also in evidence, especially on the slow-mo churn of ‘Low Tide Dub’ and spacious atmospherics of ‘South Gate Step’. The album closes on an open and optimistic note with the soothing pads and deep electronic pulse of ‘Be Brave’, the result of a collaborative project with author Lisa McInerney and actor, Hillary Rose.
