"Hamburg's mastering maestro and edit extraordinaire returns to Kojak Giant Sounds, following up his 2013 Roy Ayres edit with this swinging two tracker of groove based delights. On the A-side "Carrie On" bursts out the blocks with tough additional drums and a replayed buzzing synth bassline before settling into a swinging jazz influenced groove complete with rasping sax, off kilter piano chords and warm vibraphone licks. Perfect for the warm up, cool down or simply to switch things up a little, this cut perfectly marries the club friendly bottom end thump with sophisticated melodies. On the B-side, the title track plunges us into the psychedelic swirl of an ancient tribal ritual. Ever changing polyrhythms bump, thump and rattle and the additional synth bass throbs through the subs, feeding the dancefloor frenzy while raucous brass and group vocal chants put you slap bang in the middle of the action. Top notch!"

After a brief period of studio lock-down at the start of 2019, Brame & Hamo are back and present their fifth EP ‘Pressure’ on their eponymous imprint, due out on the 24th of June.

Having recently appeared in the Mixmag Lab, and put out a highly-curated mix via Ninja Tune’s Solid Steel Radio late last year, the duo from Sligo have an ever-increasing tour schedule, which is taking their vibrant brand of music to dancefloors worldwide. They recently completed a sell out four-show tour in Australia, and have trips to the USA, Canada and Asia booked for later in 2019.

This EP is a contagiously energetic three tracker. Starting off with ‘Pressure’, an infectious drum pattern morphs into a driving and spacey dance floor weapon. ‘Transit’ is an intricate commute of driving synths, whilst ‘Dial Up’ is the guy’s take on breakbeat rave, taking inspiration from Josh Wink and Chemical Brothers.

“The start of 2019 has been a few months locked away in the studio juggling demos for various labels and making sure everything is just the way we wanted it. We have been putting ourselves under a lot of (self-inflicted) pressure to continue to deliver music of the standard of previous releases, and finally we got there. Each of the tunes took only a few hours and were all done in one take, using all the hardware in our studio during some intense jam sessions’.

Powering out across the open highways, House Of Disco stick it in 5th gear for their 23rd outing that see’s the return of the mighty Fouk. Four funked up, disco house jams that are drenched in undeniable grooves, ‘80s synth gold and tight percussive touches. 
The A side houses ‘Release The Kraken’ with it's pitch bent synthwork, juicy basslines and emphatic vocal touches from Thumpasaurus. Next up the signature Fouk sound is bottled up on ‘Night Shift’, marrying sweltering synths with hazy Rhodes, beefy bass and infectious drums. 
Flip it over to find the walking bass badness and acid infused melodies of ‘Gloriole’, with ‘Arrakis’, a strutting summertime guitarled jam full of choice chants, ‘80s fuzzy keys and bongo loops, taking the closing spot - the perfect way to round off this huge House Of Disco release.
