Two of the most promising producers of the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene joined forces to deliver the forthcoming release of the respected label Espacio Cielo: Lucare (SXDNS175) and Aurum Miles present “Demonomania”, a devilish and intense EP featuring two spirited originals and three lively remixes provided with love by an international selection of top-notch artists: Mexico-born/France-based Leonor (SXDNS034), Spanish Lebollet (RASTROLIVE004) and Belgium duo Marching Machines.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, “demonomania” can be defined as “a delusion of being possessed by evil spirits”. The condition has surely not affected the lads but the same cannot be said of their synths: The sonority they conveyed sounds fiendish and infernal – undoubtedly, the dance floor will say thanks!

Premiered here, Leonor’s crushing remix of “Taste Of Your Mushroom”: In his interpretation, the mayor of Tournus opted for a darker instead of a more percussive (and characteristic) atmosphere, investing in a fatter bassline and ominous synth layers – the dance floor will also certainly say thanks!

Bulletdodge Records release Michael Greig & Gareth Whitehead’s remixes of ‘It Goes’ this July by Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselić's band Giants in the Trees. Giants in the Trees are a Northwest US band from rural Wahkiakum County —with definite connections to the Seattle music. The band was formed by former Nirvana bassist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Krist Novoselić (who plays bass and accordion), Jillian Raye (Vocals, Bass & Banjo), Erik Friend (Percussion) and Ray Prestegard (Guitars). 

Bulletdodge founder Gareth Whitehead who founded the label in 2007, has a vast amount of experience in the electronic music scene and teams up with label signee Michael Greig to release two breathtaking remixes of the original. The pair previously worked together on a track entitled ‘About Time’ as part of The Brood collaborative album project and was subsequently remixed by 808 State. 

The ‘Transitional Remix’ is a chugging, low-slung cut adding hypnotic pads and crunchy fx above the glistening vocals, whilst the ‘Distillation Remix’ lays focus on cosmic energy and wave-inspired atmospheres.

PREMIERE : Giants In The Trees - It Goes (Greig & Whitehead's Transitional Remix)

Selection for my friends Thomass Jackson & Iñigo Vontier from @calypsorecs, which is a home for @plot_pilot music - my project with Tumosa.
Mix was inspired by the first gig after 8 months break at 313 Cable park in Palanga (shouts to all the dancers - you were amazing!), selected in the sky, while flying all over the Europe and finally finished in a small beautifull town of Deià in Mallorca. It contains lots of my favorite vinyls and some of the new digs - 
perfect introduction to the sounds you can expect to hear me playing this summer. Hope you’ll enjoy - see you soon in the dancefloors.

Founded in 2018, the still-young and consistent label Richmerch has been since then devoting its efforts to releasing high-quality House, Techno, and Electro infused with lots of darkness and stance – and so far, they haven’t disappointed. Competently curated by respected Torreón-based DJ and producer Ricardo Medina aka Macaulay, the Mexican imprint reaches its fourteenth instalment delivered by the big boss himself.

“El Panic” EP consists of four compelling originals that showcase Ricardo’s creativity and resourcefulness when it comes to underground e-music production. From emotive and trippy cuts to uplifting and frenzy themes, the different soundscapes provided by the release focus on the ever-changing dynamics of the dance floor. Macaulay spared no efforts to bring seamlessly together his main influences to provide a New-Beat-meets-Punk-meets-Techno-meets-Indie-Dance-meets-Dark-Disco EP.

The track we chose to premiere/review, "Time", is the most hypnotic piece of “El Panic”, the result of the imperative and eerie non-stop vocal hook that keeps saying “it is time” as if it were a mantra whose main goal is to make us lose ourselves to dance like if there was no tomorrow – something we all must be ferociously craving.

Modern Slavery is a 4-track EP including two original tracks and two remixes. Aurum delivers two slow-moving tracks driven with dark atmospheric sound design with obscure programmed female vocals layered with energetic basslines.
The title track 'Modern Slavery' has a darker theme with a forceful groove mainly created by the bassline and supplements the groove of the drums. The track is layered with melodic, almost symphonic synth melodies which complements the bass. Loopy but progressive vibe creating a darker feel with a wide range of sounds that are spread out and are designed to enhance the stereo image and sound wider.

Tulioxi is one of the new great personalities of the Italian Nu Disco Scene. He Has published at least thirtyworks, among EP's, singles and collaborations with other artists.

Tulioxi has established himself as one of the most interesting talents of the new Italian Disco Scene for the last 10 years. His Works are well respected amid the international community of Indie Disco Artists and his name has been circulating into the inner circle of DJs and producers from all over the world.

For the last decade, his released music shows how creative and prolific he is, keeping his productions at a very high level in terms of originality and experimentation, and his search for a personal sound is confirmed in every new work.

He is one of the masterminds behind Cosmic Sumo Recordings and one of the developers of MEFF, theannual Modular synthesizer Exhibition Fair in Florence, tied to the brand Tiptop Audio, one of the mostpopular synth module manufacturers in Eurorack format.

Video Self-Delight is a great piece of work composed by 2 original tracks - Video Self Delight and Zorkan Machine - and 2 remixes by Günce Aci from Turkey and Stockholm Youth (Stockholm Syndrome and Tronik Youth) from UK and Australia.

On 13th August 2021, Berlin based label Public Relations will share the final installment of their debut release by Earth Space Object (E.S.O). The package features the artist’s first two singles plus remixes of both tracks by Amarcord and Ian Blevins.

Kicking off proceedings with the dark mechanical dance rhythms of Red Curtain, minimal bass lines and synth melodies provide a dose of melancholic adrenaline centered around E.S.O’s haunted, lo-fi vocal. Contrasted with the dark mood of Red Curtain, second single Magic 777 carries a lighter, more pop-infused touch. Still retaining the hypnotic percussive patterns and heart-skipping melodies the artist is quickly becoming synonymous with, Magic 777 is a colorful deep dive into E.S.O’s introspective side, and it quickly pulls you under.

The two singles provide a conflicting vision of euphoria and melancholia, with warped vocal elements and loose transitions being the common theme running through E.S.O’s new wave vision. Although executed differently, a sense of liberation is present in both tracks, a characteristic indicative of the artists approach to writing in this early stage of his sonic explorations: “Like much of my music at this stage, rather than having a specific message, my first two singles are more of an expressive release. Part self-help, part autobiographical, I’m experimenting with collections of sounds and a stream of consciousness, forged in between lockdowns but continuing to slowly evolve.” – E.S.O

Both singles have been remixed by two artists E.S.O holds in high regard. First up is Amarcord’s cascading melancholia-drenched rework of Red Curtain. With a very diverse background that ranges from Krautrock and Ambient to New Wave, Disco and Techno, Amarcord's productions and DJ sets are characterized by a continuous research and personal development which distinguish him as an artist never scared of breaking boundaries and taking unpredictable choices. Ian Blevins version of Magic 777 comes marching out the stops before introducing a deadly bassline and generous dose of Balearic sparkle into the mix without losing any of the punch. Ian rose to prominence with iconoclastic output on labels including Future Boogie, Not An Animal, MeMeMe, and most notably, E.S.P Institute.
