Our favourite Irishman Gavin Boyce delivers his biggest track to date with the very slinky disco-groover ‘Divine In You’. Superbly programmed beats, a deep as the ocean bassline, sweeping pads and just enough of a vocal hook look set to make this a deep house anthem. Cork deep house legends Fish Go Deep join in the fun with a more energetic and driving remix, while Boyce adds a funky instrumental and alternate mix for house lovers of all shades. A big piano-led bonus track ‘On You’ only serves to make this release even more unmissable.

'Divine In You' is Gavin Boyce’s fourth EP for Vancouver’s deep house institution Nordic Trax and cements his ties with the label. His previous releases – ‘Rooftop Soul EP’, ‘Face Down EP’ and ‘Sometimes Its Me’ – have received widespread support from DJs including Laurent Garnier, Nacho Marco, Ralf Gum, Mark Farina,Jay Tripwire, Mazi and Kaskade.

Boyce has also worked with Alphabet, Chillin', Kolour and Shak, and can be found recording as Untaken City. His tracks have been licensed to OM Records and Ministry of Sound among others. Gavin lives in Waterford, Ireland, and regularly plays at the club nights Republik and Resistance alongside the likes of Mark Farina, Kerri Chandler and Charles Webster.

Remixers Fish Go Deep are house music royalty. The duo of Shane Johnson and Greg Dowling have been releasing records since 1997 and resident DJs at Ireland’s longest running house club night ‘Sweat’ at Sir Henrys in Cork for 10 years previous to that. They are best known for their anthem ‘The Cure & The Cause’ with Tracy K, released through Defected in 2006, peaking at #23 in the UK charts. More underground tracks have appeared on Brique Rouge, Chez, i! Records, Om and their own goDeep and Ork imprints.

Johannes Albert is a producer as diverse as they come. Comfortable across all sub genres of dance music from deep house to italo disco, in Italy they call him Giovanni Alberto. He's been praised by the likes BICEP, Gerd Janson, Lauer and the Keinemusik crew, and he's only just getting started. 

The Dancing Plague EP is summer music for summer people. Opening with the hefty, wonky basslines of the club ready; TPTS. Gravy Train is a combination of grooving bass-lines and disco drums, the end result is a solid dancefloor stomper. The uniquely titled Pachanga follows, abundant with nu disco and italo references. This is a real summer track, as the sun sets in the city ahead of a huge party, the one that will entice the shyest of dancers to move. Keeping with the off the cuff track names, the EP finishes with the dusty, sun tinged Rainbow Pan.

Somebody called it Jazz Funk House – and that fits. Crazy flute and rhodespiano solos played by Mathias „Munk“ Modica on Kapote’s heavy funk basslines and rolling drum patterns. It’s house, it’s broken beat.
This is a pre-release to the KAPOTE ALBUM that will be released on Toy Tonics in April.
The music reminds the early 2000 West London sound of Archive Records & Seji as well as the original NYC jazz house from the Kenny Dope and Joe Claussell school. It’s not far from the vibe Gilles Peterson and Bradley Zero have been spreading for years, but the music adds new elements to it. Especially the complex way Toy Tonics co-founder Mathias Munk Modica plays his solos, influenced by the school of Hard Bob and Fusion jazz makes these music special. In fact Modica has been studying Jazzpiano at the Manhattan School of Music before getting into club culture. And Kapote is a big love for the Brazilian Funk sound of the 1970ies. You can hear that.

Canadian producer Honeydripper makes his debut for Nordic Trax. The four-track ep ranges from peak-time funky house to moody and deep – all with a distinct musicality. A trained musician, Honeydripper’s years of experience in live music shine through on this project.
Edmonton-based Steven Gevenich, aka Honeydripper, is a producer, musician & deejay who’s quickly become a staple on the Western Canadian House scene. A guitarist by trade, he has spent well over a decade heavily involved in live music – taking inspiration and experience from a diverse background in jazz, funk & roots music. If you are lucky enough to catch him live, Honeydripper combines the classic sound of Chicago house with a unique performance: laying down the groove with his Fender Jazz electric bass live.
Honeydripper appears regularly at festivals and clubs in Western Canada and has played alongside Black Loops, Dunmore Park and Folamour to name a few. He has released a handful of eps to critical acclaim on Night Vision, Delve Deeper, Sooo Wet and House Salad.

As we kick off 2020 and a new decade of music, our old friend Pete Moss returns to the label on a fresh collaboration with producer Onur Özman. The three-track ep is driven by the outstanding title track – an uplifting deep tech journey with a deadly vocal hook.

Fans of the label will no doubt be familiar with Pete Moss. The Philadelphia deep house don has been producing quality underground music for over two decades, with releases on Ovum, Dessous, Alola, Recline, Kwench, Worship and of course a pair of excellent eps on Nordic Trax (NT045 & NT053). In 2019 his remix of Colette's "Dreams" topped the dj charts and was a massive hit from Berlin to Burning Man. 

Onur Özman’s unique sound is a combination of music and architecture. His music creates soundscapes with atmosphere and function, as he says "with feelings & dance". He has been producing, performing and presenting deep, tech house music worldwide for more than a decade. His diverse discography includes releases for the likes of Noir Music, Rebirth, iRecords and forthcoming on the legendary Yoshitoshi.

Besides his own productions, Onur has collaborated with many renowned artists such as Kyodai, HotSince82, Cari Golden, Kevin Over, Cari Golden, Lazarusman & now Pete Moss. Onur rose originally from the Istanbul house music scene, but is now based in Switzerland.

Born in Hamburg and living in Berlin, Lukas Oppenheimer gives us the ‘His Dream’ EP.

We kick off with the title track, which takes matters into somewhat experimental territory, while still providing ample sustenance for a tripped-out dance - perhaps on a sunny day in Berlin, with trees swaying lazily in the background as you delve deep into all of those weird and wonderful sounds and that irresistible bass line moves your feet.

‘Where You Been’ centres its rhythm around an intricate melodic percussion motif played on tuned wood blocks. Straight kicks are at the heart of a Detroit-esque groove that sets its sights squarely on the dance floor, with floating strings and a lead line reminiscent of Underground Resistance at its best. 

The last of the originals is ‘Forever Oceanside’. With its dreamy soundscape, lush analogue chords and a shaker slowly emerging, it’s a great set opener. Opting for a breakbeat pattern on the kicks and short, crisp snares, the tracks builds with little melodies, reverbed percussions and a warm bass line, with freshsonic details providing extra entertainment.

Rounding off the EP, we have Nachtbraker (Dutch for night hawk) on remix duties, who works his trademark dubtastic magic on ‘Where You Been’.

The third release in our special digital summer series is the debut of an exciting artist from The Netherlands. “A Bunch of Guys” is the new alias of Utrecht based dj/producer Rob Scholtens, formerly known from “Pablo Discobar Soundsystem”. After 5 years as one half of the Dutch DJ duo, playing a lot of shows all across NL, he’s now working on his solo career with renewed energy.

The opener “Filthy Rhodes” is a pumping house track that will surely make you move! With it’s old school piano house chords and melody this one is made for pure good times. Followed by “Let the Rhythm Hit’em” where It’s all about, you guessed it, the rhythm. The combination of smooth jazzy drums, piano and the double bass, played live by Rob, will surely move your feet and keep you dancin’. Last of the originals is “Launch VII” a deep journey with Detroit flavors build around a rocket launch sample and gently driving you deeper into electronic atmospheres and towards a funky keys solo.

As the perfect topping to this great well crafted debut EP we asked our good friends and all time fave Dutch producers “Fouk” to produce a big remix of “Let the Rhythm Hit’em”. They boost the original to a raw and rolling Chicago-esque House banger. With their solid and chunky production this one is a big encore to close the EP.
