Welcome to the euphoric universe of Clint, co-boss at Slowciety and one half Mt.Rave (with 6tizen) Here we find him with his debut solo release, digging deep into his inspirations and capturing the euphoria and energy of 90s house and trance. Think Lil' Louie, think Hooj Choons, think Underworld. Think vibes as you’re wrapped away in new school nostalgia.

‘Libra Falls’ sets the scene. Upbeat and well on the way to Pumping City, but still proggy and cosmic, there’s an air of late 90s Cream to this as we get deeper into the groove. ‘Marathon Dad’, meanwhile, takes things full Gatecrasher with a pumping 130BPM groove that raises and raises in tension in a way that’s similar to ‘French Kiss’. Finally ‘Mental Season’ keeps us right on the spot with its similar turbo spice but with added psy-lines to the bass and flurries of synth pipes.

If that’s not enough, NZ rising star Eden Burns keeps the balance in check and delivers two incredible remixes of ‘Libra Falls’. One upbeat and full of drive. One stripped back and full of dub. Both maintain the vibe and spirit Clint’s created on this EP.

Three originals, three explorations into an era that’s not really been re-explored as much as other 90s genres; Clint’s captured the current energy of the time with a well timed revisit of a sound that changed dance music… And ironically made Slowciety’s fastest release in the process.

After a long process, we managed to get in touch with an Australian four-piece that went by the name of Boxcar from 86-92, producing a lot of music ahead of its time. They've recently started re-issuing their songs with modern producers on remix duty and after asking Romain FX to work on a remix, it was only natural that Fauve Records would work on a limited-edition vinyl-only release with a stellar cast. For this edition, we have asked some of the coolest cats in the game to hand us a remix with their specific touch and an array of bangers came about. Donald's House with a rave house-inspired remix, Fabrizio Mammarella with a more EBM/Italo touch, Jonny Rock with a dubby finger-licking-good take, and of course Romain FX with an intergalactic voyage.

Venus EP is composed of two edits, digging deep into forgotten Vietnamese Italo Disco tracks. Both artists partnered on this EP whilst residing in the paradise surroundings of Hoi An, Vietnam. 

Made of 2 tracks, dance floor fillers, with the light touch of carefully crafted synthesiser sounds along with other elements distinctive of the 80’s era. The first track “Venus” embarks the listeners to a flashback into time, revisiting the iconic anthem sprinkled with Vietnamese vocals. The nomadic life was all they knew, for as long as they could remember they'd moved from place to place, with one eye constantly looking over their shoulder. In this day and age it was impossible to remain undercover; to don a new identity and pitch up somewhere for an extended period of time. No matter where they went, what buses, trains or planes they boarded, eventually they'd be tracked down and there was no knowing what would happen then...

After welcoming PCL to Slow Motion's Wrong Era off shoot back in June, label boss Fabrizio Mammarella makes his return to the parent imprint arm-in-arm with Italian retro-futurist producer Bottin for a brand new project: EYE-BM. The pair were jamming at CIMM studios when the release came to be; it's a melting pot of their combined musical passions. Backed by a remix from Italian synth wave icon Alexander Robotnick, the EP features three original tracks to get your body moving, which blend EBM, electro, Italo disco, cyberpunk and new beat.

Following on from Tu Sei Pazza, Daniel Monaco returns to the Bordello with the bitter taste of the TB303 on his tongue. Acid Maria smoulders with the intensity of a Belgian new beat banger circa 1989. Smoky words whisper over rusted rhythms before the fog and strobe take hold. Cold strings haunt with snaking coils of 303 squawk growing ever bolder in this intense track. The flip is divided into two very different remixes. First up is Curses who approaches the piece in his own unique way. The fanfare and frigid lines of the original are expanded. Strings come care of guitars as a bright synth wave reimaging unfolds, a reimaging with one of the most daring breaks you are likely to ever hear. Younger Than Me close. This interpretation adds a fevered tone to the original. BPMs rise and pitches are pushed while chilly notes soon balloon into a frenzy to bring a full floor energy.
