Past, present, future : of all the electronic terrain currently being traversed by intrepid young explorers, the borderlands between early noughties micro house, and OG mid 90’s psy trance feels pretty much unmapped at this stage.

Fearless Leeds / Manc upstart Miurra was just about born when Akufen was cutting up audio collages on Force Inc in 2001/2, and probably wouldn’t necessarily know early Flying Rhino from Dumbo the elephant, but his Collective Leisure debut Tessellate opens up with a burst of artfully chopped up and reassembled samples, before drifting into sweeping, oscillating synths and a propulsive bass line, all underpinned by punchy, stripped back drums.

Support track Fennel comes in two mixes, main version and HBM, both elegant slabs of cheerily avante garde broken beats, rolling basslines, tinkling wonk-keys, topped off with the odd dada - esque spoken vocal intervention.

Berlin has always been a city ready to embrace the leftfield, but here, current resident Shan takes a break from Running Back duties and strides in brandishing thumping kicks, robo - Italo funk, and swooping arpeggios to restore a bit of dancefloor order, via his widescreen Tessellate remix.

Don Orione is the first solo ep by the italian dj and producer Gianmaria Gamberini.
Two original tracks with acid synths and house groovy percussion from the Raibano's co-owner also known to be half of the italian duo Club Paradiso.

The genre re-defining chameleons of Hard Ton (@hardton) are back on Schrödinger’s Box (@sboxdj) with their own brand of style splitting acid house disco. Bigger is Better, a double EP album, has all the depravity and drama you would expect from these disruptors. “Waking Up The House” melts claps, cowbells and vocals over a molten melody. Bold stabbing keys are central to “The Right Thing”, lyrics spiralling skyward as a bitter acid line pulls the track down into the sweaty pit of the club. That TB303 goes into overdrive for the wonderfully demonic hedonism of “Bypass My Love.” Two-stepping jack is given a voice thanks to the breathy words of Josh Caffe as fanfare rains. The understated “Let Yourself Go” is a distant cousin of the bawdy and brutish “I Know A Bitch”, the heavy bass and cutting samples of the finale recalling the basement bruisers of Chicago.

This is the first release by Chuck Nolad on the WPP label.
There will only be one more.

Chuck Nolad is not necessarily a person. He is a half-baked notion about the elusiveness of time. An off the cuff remark on the ebb and flow of past partnerships. A poor excuse to revisit unfulfilled achievements from the past.

The first track, Sixindamornin is an out of time house-not-house track. It's chuggy and funky in equal amounts. It's simultaneously euphoric and unsettling. It's honestly utterly unique and irresistible.

The second track, Let the Love, is quite simply asking you to open your heart and let the love come in. That's a pretty solid advice, if you ask us. Especially when it comes drenched in ethereal synths and mind spinning arpeggios with drums and guitars that sound as if they were played by a post punk band that accidentally discovered MDMA.

Escaped Records returns with a new release, fruit of the collaboration with Bobby Terrestrial from Welsh Street Heat and label manager Jarod Esc. Venus EP is composed of two edits, digging deep into forgotten Vietnamese Italo Disco tracks. Both artists partnered on this EP whilst residing in the paradise surroundings of Hoi An, Vietnam. 

Made of 2 tracks, dance floor fillers, with the light touch of carefully crafted synthesiser sounds along with other elements distinctive of the 80’s era. The first track “Venus” embarks the listeners to a flashback into time, revisiting the iconic anthem sprinkled with Vietnamese vocals. The second track of the EP “Just A Boy” focuses on delivering a tight synth melody for the late night movements that sway to the reverberated sounds of the 80’s"

Boblebad Joins badabing diskos with a pair of musical house, indie and disco fusions that come with a remix from Vinny Villbass.

Oslo-based creator Boblebad is an artist in every sense of the word. Blessed with an uncompromising creative vision, the producer, musician, painter and visual artist has been a prolific contributor to the Beatservice catalogue since arriving on the label in 2021. With an evolving sound that's impossible to pigeonhole, he's also released music on Eskimo, Full Pupp and Paper Recordings. Now as he joins the badabing diskos family, he serves up a further selection of vibrant sounds.  'Dream On’ has bubbling bass with echoing and flirtatious vocals. It is a superbly stylish and hypnotic disco house affair with cosmic chords smeared in all directions as the catchy grooves and hip-swinging claps lock you in.  Label boss Vinny Villbass remixes the second original track, ‘Go to Sleep’, delivering a deep club diversion that is perfectly hypnotic. The original of 'Go To Sleep' then closes out the package, a brilliant electronic indie lullaby for late summer insomniacs. It has sumptuous chords and sunny acoustic guitar riffs that bring an intimate and artistic feel to this most roomy and luxurious song.  As always this is a colourful, cosmic and characterful package from badabing diskos.

Summer is over and the end of 2022 is rushing up to meet us. But we’re just getting started with Throne of Blood’s anniversary releases. Hot on the heels of EP 1 featuring Chloé, Joakim & Max Pask, Justin Cudmore, and Liona, we return with the second blitz of special material for EP 2.

Kicking things off is label fixture and A Love From Outer Space maestro Sean Johnston in his Hardway Bros guise with “The Other Side,” which was the very first song submitted for this series composed in the wake of Andrew Weatherall’s passing. Having been roadtested extensively in pandemic-era ALFOS EBS livestreams, it is finally available to all.

Rounding things out are tracks from Hapa, a duo of NYC underground stalwarts, Takaya Nagase (Joy) and Eric Pecoraro aka Eric From America (Chomp Chomp Records),new wave acid punk Curses (Ombra International), and West Coast legends Split Secs,
