Bouquet. Records features Olive T. for their sixth EP release on vinyl to infuse their 2021 roster with the desired verve and energy that dormant club kids are thirsting for.

Releasing in early summer, the energetic dance tracks herald a return to the dance floor, uplifted by soul-stirring synthesizer orchestral strings. The native New Yorker and scene fixture was influenced by 90’s house, inspired by Raze, Deee-lite, Green Velvet, and smooth disco flows. The ascension sensation of “Goin Up” builds on familiar house grooves with digital synths and a thoughtful utilization of today’s technology.

Known to play a range spanning hip hop to club, jazz to funk, disco to garage, and more, Olive T has DJ’d countless venues and over international airwaves. An early exposure to house and techno, combined with a wide span of diverse musical taste, shaped her unique style. In 2020 she started her own 2 hour radio show on The Lot Radio.
Olive T worked with the up and coming producer Tiro! due to her admiration of his use of traditional sounds of the 90’s era, sensing he also listened prolifically to 90’s house and techno. Tiro!’s remix of “This Is A Bop” adds organic flare to the original. A long-time fan of Matt Karmil, she invited him to remix “Opaque.” He flips the track upside down to reveal a different, but still vibrant interpretation, with his technical approach to remixing.

'Mez's Oliphaunt' takes traditional textures and welds them into 2021 through a tumbling cascade of fast paced electro rhythms.

And finally 'How High Is The Sky?' is the result of several late night sessions in the legendary Rhythm Section studio - expect hammering 909's + chaotic squelching wonk straight out of the Wardolf Pulse 2.

DJ Spielberg is one of the monikers of Hugo Barão, a DJ and producer from Lisbon who has carved out his own place in the landscape of electronic music.
Defined by a multidisciplinar approach to the production, art and
presentation of his work on No She Doesn’t label, his records might
bring forth the unexpected, such as in his second EP, when he
engineered and designed a first person game emulating a Lisbon venue ‘Desterro’, blurring the distinction between physical and digital worlds on an immersive rave experience, while releasing Carregada/Calibrada EP.
His third release on NSD called TORQUE will happen in April 2023 and
features an artwork collaboration with the argentinian 3d video artist
Narf Alvarez.

It’s an interesting time for Haŵs, having successfully rolled out their parties to popular venues across Cardiff and London with takeovers hosting everyone from Special Request to DMX Krew in the last year alone. Their previous releases on the label side have been more languorous and serene, with their overarching vision primarily holding a strong emphasis on building upon a bedrock of house music, and bolstered with accents of acid, breaks and other subgenres. But since their more recent event bookings have been so notably comprehensive, the sixth EP has taken that full step into developing upon the variety they champion at their parties. This next chapter of their growth actualises itself in the form of Dawl’s ‘Break It Down’ EP, a warehouse-ready, bouncy and charismatic record channelling insatiable vigour from beginning to end. 

‘Break It Down’ on the A-side is a relentless jackhammer of a track, pumped full of rich breaks and clipped acid lines. ‘Subject 91’ flattens the gas pedal even further, with a gated, spectral synth levitating hazily above the militant drums that heave the whole track forward. 

On the B-side, the brawny ‘Proton’ returns to the acidic burn of the opening track, except this one is occupied by chirping synths and oscillations of noise that seem to rise and fall with a trippy authority. Finally, highflyer and man of the moment Kosh employs his natural gift of the gab on the closing remix of ‘Break It Down’ with a raucous rhythm and a regurgitated bassline that never dwindles on its own gusto. 

Despite the substantial weight and pugnacity of this 4-tracker, the staple Haŵs euphoria twinkles through. There’s no shortage in complex drum sequencing, breaks samples and all the other frills, yet the final output is compact and neat. As Haŵs increases its vision more extensively to dance music from across the board, it seems that the best things might at times come as contradictions, and this record’s tone certainly fits the bill.

OYE record store employee holds a bimonthly residency with online
radio station New New World and has also been taking part in
Martyn’s 3024 mentoring program this year.

For his next release, kuprion returns to his newly-minted Unnatural Evidence imprint with a damaging two track release. ‘Nein’ is a highly-charged electro workout while ‘Nine’ is an acid-tinged, breaks-laden slab of techno.
