Dusk was falling as they'd entered the space, ready to embrace everything that came their way. The pulsing sounds had absorbed them from the moment they set foot inside; what came after felt like a whirlwind, their memories becoming lost in a haze of sweaty bodies and enchanting rhythms. Bright light greeted them when they left, feeling as though they'd been chewed up and spat back out - yet it was nothing they wouldn't relive over and over again.

Siamese Twins' co-founder Sunju Hargun has been making moves over the last couple of years, both solo, as part of Mogambo and with the releases on his Bangkok-based imprint. After gracing the label a few times with the more downtempo side of his creations, Sunju makes his way to Taiwan's 禁JIN for two tracks that are guaranteed to have you drifting up into the cosmos. Backed by two remixes from Barcelona's Marc Pinol and Taipei's own Initials B.B., Sunju's originals are an ode to the sounds of classic trance and acid, with both set to light up dancefloors across the world.

En este caso se trata de Antártica II Evolution que es un nuevo album en proceso, una variación del estilo de Antártica Civilization, un EP que publique en abril de 2024. La idea es combinar estructuras musicales preestablecidas en un proceso de composición clásica para luego improvisar melodías, arpegios, secuencias y solos en el transcurso de la session otorgándole paralelamente la forma final a la composición. Es la forma mas arriesgada de hacer música pero plagada de sorpresas, sinceridad artística y emociones espontáneas. Pasa también que sucede algo muy curioso en el proceso: yo lo describo como ”efecto cuántico”, mientras practico y defino algunos pasajes o escenas parece haber una magia en el proceso y el desarrollo musical, en el momento que prendo la cámara para hacer la toma, esa magia cambia, se transforma. No pasando así con la grabación del audio. Puede que sea mi percepción pero creo que al ser observado el momento, la realidad cambia. Naturalmente realizo varias tomas hasta encontrar la que mas me agrada pero es interesante observar el fenómeno. Es por eso que mis grabaciones son constantemente versiones de versiones y me apasiona, al menos en este género, que así sea. Este universo musical es el que quiero compartir con ustedes. 

Ya no me interesa seguir un patrón absolutamente técnico y elaborado al detalle para igualar mi sonido al mainstream, mi dedicación es puramente artística y espontánea, naturalmente utilizo herramientas: sintetizadores y equipos de sonido de alta gama: la escenografía. Para lograr mis objetivos, comparando el Teatro con el Cine ambos son artes visuales pero lo que en uno prevalece la actuación pautada pero espontáneo e invariable en la línea de actuación, el otro no tiene límites de exposición visual y de perfeccionamiento en toda la línea de tiempo. Ilusión mata espontaneidad actoral, si se me permite esta analogía. Resumiendo: Trato de evitar componer todo en mi programa de música mas allá de las bases que necesito para improvisar en vivo. La utilización de la cámara es un incentivo estresante como si estuviera componiendo en vivo. Sera por falta de rutina o por el efecto cuántico? No importa, es completamente emocionante e inspirador, altamente ego complaciente.

Furious Frank returns to Butter Sessions with 'Ahora Sí'. The fully fledged house anthem is the result of a cross-continental collaboration with Barcelona based vocalist and producer Ivy Barkakati. 

We're treated to four versions of 'Ahora Sí', all tested and ready for the dance floor and those special moments! Kicking it off, Frank delivers his "Original Acid Mix". A deep, squelchy lurker with nods to late 80's and 90's house music, peaking with thick piano chords and Barkakati's deep Spanish vocals. On the 'Sunrise' mix, the piano and chords become the focus and set the mood for an uplifting journey, bolstered by the raw thump and jack of the drum machines. 

The flip side see's Barcelona based "IVAN" emerge with their version. The duo made up of Ivy Barkakati and Phran of Klasse Wrecks fame slow things down a touch, mangle the chords and inject the rhythm with flattering top-drawer percussion. Vancouver native D. Tiffany rounds the EP off with sub-heavy bass drops, hi-tek rhythms, euphoric vocal slithers and more stingin' acidic vibes.
