Walking through the darkness, he cast a glance backwards and gazed at his footprints left in the snow. The streetlights flickered and flashed up above casting a faint orange glow down atop the white, bitter world beneath. Some might shiver and shake at the prospect of a night spent alone in the dark and cold but he had no fear. This moment had been coming for a long time and as he walked between the tall, towering buildings towards the river he felt reassured by the fact that tomorrow the sun would rise, the world would go to work and life would go on as it always did. 

Acid Waxa have released a new track from Jacklyn, it's the Newcastle based producers debut and features the cold, hard facts of life told through the use of a Nina Simone sample. This one is deep and delightful as they come.

Inspired by the 80’s anime series Ulysses 31, Parallel’s Seven Close Suns EP dives into themes of space and technology. Incorporating sounds from the series, arranged over driving Italo bass lines and bouncing hi-hats, the London based producer delivers 4 original tracks. Birds remixes the title track, with a post-punk, new wave twist, merging her vocals over the top for her typical sound.

This time they take the step up to prepare only their 2nd full-length record 'A Change In Motion'. A collection of tracks that are the epitome of their unconstrained style of electronic music, subverting expectations by blending an array of captivating ideas and atmospheres to form a true voyage through sound.

Club legend Lele Sacchi and Italy’s most influential indie label Asian Fake present their newest Milan-based venture, Stolen Goods Records. Their first release, ‘Volume Zero’, is a sampler featuring twelve Italian artists showcasing the upcoming flavours of the imprint, spanning all corners of the electronic music spectrum.

‘Stolen Goods - Volume 0’ boasts an impressive cast of established artists and newcomers alike. Life and Death and Ransom Note veteran Bawrut, legendary 90s hero DJ Rocca and up & coming Asian Fake artist Plastica kick off the release. They are joined by Funk Rimini’s blissful footwork, recent Truncate & Symbolism signing Elisa Bee’s floor-filling techno and Nic Sarno’s experimental style of new wave dance music.

The release also sees Hot Creations & Defected’s Rogue D rework an old Tyree Cooper hip-house track before label co-owner Lele Sacchi comes in with a hypermodern fusion of house and techno. Apparel’s Artizhan, Ruff Stuff, Sickarone and Tempio del Futuro Perduto mastermind Industrial Romantico round things off by adding a rave-ready, electro and breakbeat influenced package to the release.

Amsterdam via Wales DJ & producer Maroki unveils a darker, more eccentric side to his productions, this time opting for four bass heavy, left-leaning cuts of idiosyncratic dance-floor experimentation on LTFIRE. Nestled amongst the trees along the river lJ, Maroki is surrounded by influence, from the city's bustling streets to the tranquility of nature's boundless beauty; Maroki’s work walks the tight-tope between these two spaces, a place where machines and human complexity meet.

‘Pots & Pans & Handstands’ opens up the A-Side with a high-octane journey, meshing breaks and shape-shifting bass with hoovering pads that sound like landing UFOs. ‘Hasnoot’ continues this menacing theme, providing an immersive experience that feels compulsive and raw. Yet, there’s elements of fun and flashes of colour, adding to the almost audio visual vibe Maroki can create.

The B side opens with ‘Boiler’ a nocturnal groove that sways ominously in the wind; If the UFOs were landing on the records A side, this is the soundtrack to their dystopian future. Maroki completes his metamorphosis with ‘San Andras’, visuals of large spaces with high concrete ceilings come to mind, where the track's mechanics can thrive, reverberating beautifully amongst the looming shadows of dancers.

Label veterans Sleep D crank the dial to 11 and spit out a banging electro mutant that was concieved at Melbounre Electronic Sound Studio early in 2018. Vintage synths are imagined in a new light on 'Shark Tempo' and met with fast-paced klangin drums and a relentlessly hypnotic bass sequence. 

Flip the disc to feel the bass bin shaking sounds of Melbourne via Perth transplant Roza Terenzi that has been making plenty of noise lately. Debuting on the label with a rude, zonked out rave house beast that is 'Paranoia On Tap'. Heard first at her debut live set at Inner Varnika festival early in 2018.
