Cross-border wiring in the studio for the new RFR release! Russia and Georgia share their musical conscience and deliver a fine split EP for cat. no. 16. RNBWS just recently caused a sensation with new tracks on RFR, and we already know Generali Minerali from his first release for RFR X. So now it’s about to time to melt their creative spirit into a collective EP on vinyl.
Generali Minerali and his army occupy the a-side. “Generation of Mars” is musical terraforming in its purest form. Minimally crafted electro, a shot of acid and well-placed melodic patterns are the main ingredients for a magnificent opener.
“Dry Water” sticks with the electro leitmotiv. Compared to the A1 we find a closer reference to the dance floor, meandering scanner sounds and a snare, that keeps slapping constantly. This is how we like it!
On the b-side RNBWS carry on where Generali Minerali and his troops had left the battlefield. “Galaxy” opens the doors to an interplanetary round dance, the place where mind and body join together in the sense of classic electro.
“Nothing but Hardcore” needs no further explanation. UK hardcore in its most beautiful garments, which is so characteristic for RNBWS’ tracks. Interwoven by electro elements, who get to the heart of this EP in terms of stringency.

The track “Stringhe Di Saturno”, taken from “Decisioni del 1961”, Disco Morato’s forthcoming installment on Maxima Culpa, will make you think our today’s premiere is about an Italian release. The thing is: It is not. Disco Morato (SXDNS147) is a Russian artist and Maxima Culpa is his own label, hence, a Russian imprint. His partner in crime, Gegen Mann (SXDNS220/ FREEDL031), is also Russian. That said, now you know why extreme and absolute darkness prevails in the entire 4-Italian-named-track EP.

Those familiar with Disco Morato’s career are already used to his sinister-as-hell Italo-themed pieces. Those who are listening to his work for the first time must have been tricked by the title of the track and were probably expecting some colourful and upbeat Italo Disco gem.

Mr. Morato’s sonority is not easy, fellas, it’s intricate, noisy, full of distortions, and devoted to casting blackness and obscurity into our hearts and minds. “Stringhe Di Saturno”, an Electro/EBM-infused masterpiece, is the perfect example to depict in a nutshell what he intends to deliver/trigger with his productions.

With this joint venture between Wrong Era and Italo Moderni, label boss Adrian Marth brings it on with a five track EP including two killer remixes from Fabrizio Mammarella and Geneva Jacuzzi.

Expect nothing but harsh basslines and filthy drums from the Barcelona based producer. His love for the classic sounds of italo, space, and cosmic disco of the 80’s comes perfectly together on this release.

Geneva gives ‘’Hypnotic Eyes’’ a synth driven vocal pop rework that will hypnotize you from the start. Fabrizio instead, gives Adrian’s track ‘’Disorder’’ a peak time heavy edged remix, that will not disappoint you.

We are excited to release a 6-track EP from San Francisco based DJ, producer, and remixer Sepehr Alimagham. The San Jose native has been a fixture in the Bay Area house and techno scene for quite awhile now — on the dance-floor, behind the decks, in the studio, or all of the above. Early influences like Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin and post-hardcore bands later in high school started his affinity for off-kilter, underground music. In 2017 he began performing live PA sets, utilizing his immense production backlog to perform vivid and electric sets, from potent dance music to psychedelic and esoteric soundscapes. 

"Body Mechanics" is six tracks of acid drenched dance music that ebb and flow from floor filling club thumpers to more cerebral soundscapes. Inspired by the new wave of the acid sound as well as nostalgia from his formative years in the San Francisco music scene, 'Body Mechanics' takes a functional, yet psychedelic approach to 303 styled techno and electronica.  Attention demanding basslines, indiosyncratic structures and hallucinatory atmospheres provide an effective framework for Sepehr's vision. The themes of the track titles take root from a series of dreams Sepehr had with a common atmosphere of strange characters and textures, akin to scenes from David Lynch's 'Twin Peaks'. All songs have been mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The vinyl comes housed in a jacket featuring a dark and inviting cyborg hand holding a rose designed by Nicole Ginelli.

Tender Leaf was a band from the 1980s whose sound could be described as easy-going soul with essences of psychedelic music. Its two founding members, Murray Compoc and Darryl Valdez, first met while working as drivers of the city bus (aka The Bus). They discussed music and jammed together, eventually forming a band. Both Compoc and Valdez wrote most of the material on the group’s solitary album, Tender Leaf, recorded in 1982 at Seawest Studios (then located) in Hauula, Oahu.

For their landmark 10th release, Hard Fist is proud to have snapped up multi-talented Belgian producer and performer Strapontin for a new single including Damon Jee and Thomass Jackson remixes and a complementary & prescient video game that pokes fun at social media.

The specially designed game and accompanying music video pertains to the overall theme of the EP, which shows an absurd society obsessed with social media descending into a dystopian world. It is a paranoid graphic vision, set in Brussels, Strapontin’s hometown, that puts you in control of a role playing game as you march round the city collecting social points with scant regard for others.

Besides being a dancer, performer and on-and-off "Madame pipi", French-born, Brussels-based Strapontin is also a DJ and producer who mixes up slow and rough techno with thrilling soundtracks and groove driven disco. He has released on Nein and I'm Single amongst others and marks this 10th Hard Fist release in fine style.

Opening up the EP is 'Nervous Days', a gallivanting techno-disco groove with rugged loops and jumbled percussion that sounds like a rampage through a cityscape, as per the video. Then comes 'But The Nice One!', a stomping and rough and ready ride on lumpy drums and bass that is dark but playful. The quality continues on 'Miss Mickey the Dumbs', with some brilliantly heavy and reverberating drums making you jerk your body while sci-fi effects float and drift about up top.

Blindetonation label regular and esteemed modern disco man Thomass Jackson remixes 'But The Nice One!' In his capable hands it becomes a melon twisting workout with spangled synth lines, psyched-out synths and percolating drums that are finished with a vulnerable and eerie vocal. Last of all is a Damon Jee remix of 'Miss Mickey the Dumbs', His music can be heard on the underground’s most sought-after labels including Roam, Hafendisko, Suara and Sincopat to name just a few. His version is a more direct affair, with searching laser synths and a hypnotic space-techno vibe that carries you off to the stars at increasingly high speeds.

This is a fittingly brilliant EP from the vital Strapontin on ever-excellent Hard Fist.
