In this offering, True Romance introduces Montreal based OJPB (also known as Bowly, DÐD, MTSP). Through this alias, French-born Olivier Borzeix delivers raw and adventurous rhythms sourcing his inspirations in rare funk disco nuggets and the golden age of house music, blending it into what he likes to call : Hypnotic Soul. 'Lonely Planet,' the 2017 debut album from Tornado Wallace, found the new age-loving Australian reaching new levels of sophistication, and now his creations have been given the remix treatment. Slated to arrive on March 16 via Gerd Janson's Running Back label, the new EP features reworks from veterans like I:Cube, Move D and Prins Thomas. The latter is a slow-burning exercise in cosmic disco, and it debuted on Red Bull Radio's First Floor, our weekly look at what's new in electronic music.

Tornado Wallace "Trance Encounters (Prins Thomas Discomiks)" [First Floor Premiere]

The masked hero comes back after the LP with a 3 tracks EP landing in the summertime and it’s yet again worth the wait, as it brings back hints of that nu-disco house music we learnt to love but together with a new touch. “006A1” is the opening tune which is a funky view on the dancefloor with hints of blissful acid grooves and a meticulous structured arrangement, for club use only. "A2" is pertinent to the mood of the side A and it's a slower but solid groove with smooth vocals that come in without warning. A more classic approach to end the first part. B side is surely a masterpiece, a 11 minutes track taking over the whole side with a trippy approach containing so many musical inputs; throughout the whole composition we can hear how scrupulous is the sound research that the artist made, from sound design, to sampling and structuring, and the groove itself exploding in a mix of world music-afrofunk- beat belter, with the vocals giving it a touch of a tribal dance. A track to remember which surely lifts the level of the whole EP. A track we are, amongst the others, proud to release on our own label (@Apparel-Music). APLWAX006 is landing, so fasten your seat belts, because this is one to remember.
