London via Berlin connection brings us a versatile ‘Rad’ EP from one of the finest producers of dreamy, melodic house, Powel. ‘Rad’ EP, inspired by the BMX racer movie from the ‘80s, features four original cuts by Powel and four remixes by Haider Uppal and Timo Chinala, Mark Slee, Lauren Ritter, and Brigade. 

Our premiere for today, the remix of the title track by Haider Uppal and Timo Chinala, brings dubby, ‘b-side’ vibes to the release. Its rumbling kick drum layered with ethereal pads and dreamy vocal samples make a perfect contrast and create an ideal atmosphere for late nights on the dance floor.

Earlier this year, Los Angeles based John Tejada released "Year Of The Living Dead”. Recorded during the monumental uncertainty of 2020, this full length brought out a blissful extended moment of balance between the new and the familiar in his music. Now, Tejada invites some of his favourite producers to reinterpret tracks from the album – the legendary Warp duo Plaid set their signature style to “Abbot Of Burton, whereas Jimmy Tamborello’s Dntel project combines layers of blissful moments from “Echos Of Life” to the timbre of a flute. Lawrence is one of Kompakt’s most beloved, kindred spirits and he turns “Panacea” into a gorgeously soulful house crooner perfect for the late hours that go on and beyond. Feeling extremely excited and proud for giving continuity to KEENE and Kaleta's release'Ayessi', this time in collaboration with the internationally renowned music producer and composer Henrik Schwarz. It also includes an outstanding remix from one of our favourite artists 'Philou Louzolo', responsible for bridging the gap between afro diaspora sounds and House and Techno.

Henrik Schwarz came up with two versions in wonderfully colourful fashion, sunny vibes and a triumphant feel that completely envelops this production, with shimmering disco hi-hats bringing the rhythm urgency and subtle strings and blips filtering away in the bedrock of the composition. A buzzing synth bores a tunnel through the centre of the groove while perfectly blending with Kaleta's vocals. 

Philou Louzolo showed his prolific production skills in all its glory with each element carefully positioned to keep things energetic, laying the foundation of a dancefloor bomb. It features an array of warm arpeggios that adds bright colours to the mix, with driving afro percussion pushing the track along with a gentle sort of power. Kaleta's vocals and blasts from sprightful trumpets were efficiently used bringing tension to the mix.
