Manfredi Barbarossa's Italian label Night Vibes Records welcomes countryman Nnatn for a fierce selection of house music that joins the dots between the past, present and future.
Nnatn was born in Italy in the early nineties and grew up with classic house, disco and afro. He started to produce in 2015 and has remained hard to pin down stylistically, with releases on Roasted Records, Pogo House and Lisztomania Records amongst those vying to establish his name and sound.

His latest and greatest EP opens with a fine and feel good groove, 'Don't Stop Me.' The big hi-hat ringlets bring light and air to warm, vamping chords and splashy cymbals. The drums are pure house, and the whole thing brims with character and soul. 'Love Me To' explores a deeper sound, with mid-tempo kicks couched in swirling, dubby bass and dreamy leads meandering amongst the clouds. The Kerri Chandler-esque 'Groovin Magic' is a bumping and brilliant gem with taught kicks and synth flourishes filled with colour.

Next, 'I Had' ups the ante, again brings elements of Chicago and New York house. The leggy bassline is perfect for getting you on your toes while the twinkling chords get hands skywards. Closing out this crucial EP is 'Break Down,' a sizzling six-minute voyage into a deep acid house that jacks the drums and is sure to frazzle minds.

These are timeless and effortless house tracks from a young talent who set to blow up in 2021.

PREMIERE : Nnatn - Break Down

Exactly one year after his 2020 release entitled Dunklewissenschaft, DVS NME returns with a collection of new tracks that were produced between late 2020 and early 2021. This 25-track album is another obvious thematic tribute, only this time he chose to pay homage to the writing of the socialist revolutionary Karl Marx. Every song title is a nod to the German philosopher's economic and political theory. Even the album cover borrows directly from Marx, re-adapting the original cover of the 1848 pamphlet entitled 'The Communist Manifesto'.

This album, as with the last, relies heavily on the sounds of classic Electro machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-2, System 100, Juno 60, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, as well as some contemporary additions to his studio like Hydrasynth, System 8, Novation Peak, Minilogue, SE-02, and Microkorg.

EBM has seen better days...DAF's wannabee inheritors have continuously drained the genre's legacy of its substance in waves of over simplification and risible first degree. As standards are reproduced endlessly the appeal of "EBM" labelled music wears thin. It takes a name like Gérard Jugno 106 to give the sleeping beast a much welcome pinch. Let's clear something right off the bat. Dall'Aglio is no rookie to the game : founder of the Dada minded and hyperactive Linge Records Imprint, the man from Montpellier's been active under many aliases releasing a continuous stream of confronting, off kilter, bouncy, infectious, and also mostly confidential, jams. None however matches the sharpness of his latest, the world conquering "Grand Korg Malade". On this one Dall'Aglio's love for the darker end of electronic music meets his absurd playfulness and sense of tease in a radiant result. While the jump would be perilous to many, Dall Aglio's years of dada raves hosting have turned him in a true tumbler, a juggling influences in impossible positions to a fascinating result. Through a deluge of sonic collages and beats deliriously hammering in delicious AFX fashion, the tracks read like a matrioshka set of references delivered in ed Bangerlike unbridled strokes. Such a sense of spontaneity and devotion make in turn for a record of rare precision turning the sense of fun into a serious and hallucinating art...

Splits is a new series of releases from OO Recordings that focuses on connecting two artistic minds into one split cassette.
The first installment is a Nordic affair with Iceland's Jónbjörn on the A-side and Finland's Torolf Stendik on the B-side. Though stylistically operating in different shades of electronic music, both artists share a knack for relentless experimentation, ingenious use of their chosen array of sounds, and Nordic quirks that are hard to put a finger on. Having been fans of both artists for years, we're more than thrilled to present to You the meeting between two mind-bending talents.

OO Recordings is a label run by DJ Aleksi, Handshaking, and Raul E. The label focuses on releasing electronic music from a local perspective yet with an international connection. The previous releases have focused on exploring the label’s provincial scene of Helsinki, Finland. As a next step in the label’s voyage in music, the aim for the new Splits series is to serve as a meeting spot for two producers who share a similar space in the minds of the label’s founders’ heads. You know, kind of like combining two people that do different things but somehow share an ethos or an underlying spirit of doing - at least in our minds.

OO Recordings also hosts a monthly show on Noods Radio. Titled O to O, the show focuses on exploring sounds that inspire both the trio of DJ-producers behind the label as well artists connected to it, and in general people who are friends of the crew or just darn talented DJ’s.

O to O is also a club night at the notorious Kaiku in Helsinki, Finland
