Fire is “a process in which substances combine chemically with oxygen from the air and typically give out bright light, heat, and smoke; combustion or burning”. “Fogo”, the equivalent word in Portuguese, represents here the union of two hot South American projects in a compilation with several Latin artists – from Brazil to Uruguay, passing through Argentina: Ariel Freitas, Balam (SXDNS048), Camões & Martha Pinel, Cauana, Hoochie Coochie Papa, Imanol, Lagoeiro, Maco Maltauro, Mau Maioli (SXDNS246), Panko & Dada Scáthach, Ricardo Ruben (SXDNS103) and Sub-P, each one contributing with their plural and vast sonorities, helping to turn “U're Guay Feat. Borogodó Pres. FOGO” one of the most interesting releases of the year so far.

The track we chose to premiere, “Sudor From Hell”, is another irrefutable proof that Argentinian producer Balam is definitely one of the most creative artists amid the so-called Indie Dance scene. His infernal contribution to the compilation brings an interesting fusion of Soca, Samba and Afro, resulting in a true percussion extravaganza with an astounding upbeat atmosphere.

A new EP is coming on Logia, and it's from our great friend Poulper, Argentine DJ and producer, who is currently touring North America. Aventura EP is a little journey full of adventures, nature and musical textures. Composed in American and Aztec lands recounting from a beat in the mountains, a ritual on the beaches of a port to a dark trip that doesn't let you go. Collaborating with Della, Argentinian dj/producer based in Barcelona, ​​"Hills" sweet and acid progressively harmonious as the view from above, Aventura that gives its name to the EP with the collaboration of Karen Colman, a Korg Synth and some beach percussions to run through the sand . Dark paradise the dark side of the ep, inviting the devil to have a drink in the garden.

The EP has great remixers, Balam with his afro-acid version of “Hills”, Tiempo de Maldad did an analogous and doomy version of “Aventura”, and finally the Spanish Arkademode taking “Hills” to a very dark-disco version. fit for the track.

PREMIERE : Poulper & Della - Hills (Balam Remix)

British DJ and producer, Wallace, debuts on Disco Halal with the two track EP ‘Contact’. Across both tracks, the artist showcases an eclectic taste for left-field dance music, that continuously offers the dancefloor a sense of the unexpected. On the title track, the artist delivers a peak time hit that’s driven by a thumping bassline and layers of instrumentation that’s almost hypnotising in its design. Whilst ‘Ragaman’ looks to the east for inspiration, in what’s a truly left-field interpretation of indie-dance which fits perfectly with the label’s Middle Eastern roots.

On his thought process behind the EP, Wallace states: “During a year of lockdown I found myself really struggling for the inspiration which I usually find in nature & cities. Instead, I decided to try & dream up new places & capture how they would feel. Both ‘Contact’ & ‘Ragaman’ were born from these visions. I really wanted to try & express the joy of everyone coming together again & inject this energy into the music.”

Such a diverse sound has resulted from a life dedicated to music. Wallace spent 5 years running club nights in Edinburgh and has since put all his energy into his own productions. The resulting left-field aesthetic stemmed from a unique upbringing, where the artist was exposed to sounds across the world thanks to two parents who loved music and nature respectively. The result is ‘Contact’, a journey through dance music that spans continents and cultures alike, where the artist takes aspects from his own travels and delivers something that’s truly personal to him, which has proved to be equally powerful on the dance floor.

Cosmic Sumo is a Cosmic Disco and Nu Funk label based in the picturesque Florence, a city in Central Italy and the capital of the Tuscany region. Considered by many academics to have been the birthplace of the Renaissance period, it became a major artistic, cultural, commercial, political, economic, and financial centre in Europe. It is also the home of one of the truly Italian masters of the Dark Synth scene: Tulioxi (SXDNS049), the curator of the imprint, by the way.

After a quality above quantity first semester, delivering some AAA+ works on Latido, Mélopée, and Bandcamp, he is now back on Cosmic Sumo with two enorme & sofisticata tracks, ingeniously constructed and heavily influenced by New Wave and Post-Punk plus Sci-Fi cinema. Distorted guitar riffs and modular synthesisers set the mood of the solid “The Elevator” EP.

Premiered here, “Saturn Copies” brings the aforementioned influences and elements and combine them with a menacing and twisted vocal hook, that’s when you notice how creative and insightful he is by observing that every single aspect of the song is tied to the composition, nothing is too little or too much. Yes, with Tulioxi everything is how & where it must be!
