The unlikelihood of being alive warrants expression. In the increasingly digital universe we are tangibly intertwined yet phenomenally disconnected. The music within this record defines dream-like iterations of a post-Internet reality and is uncanny in its ability to emulate potential futuristic and imagined states of being. It induces the uniqueness and highly emotive aspects of undefined existences. "Unknown Data Set" is our first record and third release. It features  music from the label familia. 400 copies.

There was much to be said for those operating in the shadows; they kept themselves out of the limelight, uninterested in adhering to stereotypes or expectations. They had no interest in such things, only in their work and their mission, which served those who upheld similar values and beliefs. What they were creating was guided by honest intentions; it was purely for the culture.

Far East Flight is the brainchild of Lithuanian DJs Jokios Kulturos and Adventure Society, who come together to share their love of hypnotic trance and the rave culture of the 90s. Set for release on Electric Shapes, who've recently put out EPs from Tadan, Rambal Cochet and Tribalistic Junkies Of Universe, the LP explores all corners of trance, from Goa rhythms and classic and psychedelic strains to downtempo, playful cuts.

On his follow-up to ROOS10, French DJ and producer Adam BFD lets imagination thrive with five mesmerizing breaksy house cuts, best heard under a star-lit sky. Duality flows seamlessly throughout the whole record, Adam harnessing the power to connect everyday experiences with a higher state of consciousness.

The EP kicks off with ‘Digital Tales’ which layers wistful secrets over mood-altering pads; it’s hypnotic undertone grounding and continuous. ‘Cirrus Dreamz' ascends even further into the clouds, it’s steady pace expertly infused with cosmic melody and shuffling rhythms.

In a world driven by hyper-connectivity, Adam’s productions are a welcome reminder to stop and explore, none more so than in the immersive world of B side opener ‘1st sight’. Dynamic percussion provides the movement, while meditative sonics produce the feeling of being swept up in a magic carpet and taken along for the ride. Adam’s depth of field widens in title track ‘Rose’, a quasi-epic composition combining all the best elements of house and breakbeat.

The record comes to a contemplative halt with ‘Siniestro’ - an ambient bubble-bath with field recordings poignantly placed across developing pads yearning for connection; showcasing another side to a producer who knows how to tug at the heartstrings.

It’s been nine years since Antoni Maiovvi released Trauma on Bordello A Parigi. Since then, and before, the Bristol born artisan has been honing and refining his audio craft with explorations into electronics, soundtracks and rock. Now, in his latest musical incarnation, Maiovvi returns with Birds of Paradise. This avian themed four tracker is beyond anything you’ve heard from this synthesizer wizard. Complex, deep and layered, the EP is testament to a talent rarely heard. From the sheer elation of “Flycatcher”, which pivots and weaves, the listener is taken away. Throbbing rhythms and astral melodies are unfurled, arpeggios rumble as key scale ever higher in the heady notes of “Widowbird”. A steady kick is the morning song of “Streamertail”, warm computer tones scudding next chords that trill with optimism. Birdsong, a feature of the EP, is ever present in this agile and textured close. Drawing on his predilection for movie scores, “Quetzal” completes this feathered foray. Pulsating, drums offer the updraft for a spread of sounds and shape to takes to the wing. A unique record from an artist soaring to ever greater heights.

It's this experience of being at an age when you're really uncertain of everything and overwhelmed by how much grief and how much horror is happening in this world, overwhelmed by your trauma and your baggage and in many ways you are stunted by this fear or paralysed by it even though you are aware of how much better you have it than the vast majority of others out there. It isolates the idea that we all exist within a framework of fragility and uncertainty. 'Distilled Existence' imagines an alternative reality that exists in stark contrast, where everything is gentle and nothing hurts. This track is by Pulsum. Spoken word poem written and delivered by Ariana Molly.
