The "Shodar ep" here is all about raw but playful analogue electro in all its glory fashion. It will be out in a bit less than a month circa 13th of may in all usual suspects shops and online retailers around the world, Juno, Deejay.de, Red Eye Records, Clone and the likes. Nocta Numerica won't stop to bring the heat any soon yet as a various artist six tracker with the cream of french new electronic scene involved on this one with Voiron (again), Elliott Litrowski, Masterflashhh, Glass Figure, Le Matin and Too Smooth Chris , hot !

ИДА (@idasound) is a record label from Moscow that was born from a local club night, that brings some of the most prominent international DJs to the city. Such as Chaos In The CBD, Fantastic Man, Mehmet Aslan, DJ Boring, Borrowed Identity, DJ Octopus, Steve Murphy, Adesse Versions, Kornel Kovacs, Jacques Renault to some of Moscow's most famous venues including; Denis Simachev Bar, Science and Art, Propaganda and Powerhouse.

For their sixth release, they welcome newcomer fellow Russian @fakundofakundo to the family. Who has had some notable recent releases on Slow Motion Records and surely one to watch. For the ‘Shoes’ EP he delivers 2 broken beat tracks with dark vibe and some unexpected samples.

Dancing Glass Figures EP

After a summer run of scorching sounds and horizontal grooves that were designed for sandy open air scenarios, Hell Yeah kick off 2019 with some more of their curious curveballs and playful party pumpers. It's time to forget what you know and prepare for a weird and wonderful trip into weirdness with Alexander Robotnick: he is the man behind the music and a track that was previously released on the Coast to Coast 12” in 2013 and soon became a Balearic gabba classic.
Now it gets a second spot in the headlines after label head Marco first heard it played years ago by Justin Vandergvolgen and asked him to edit it. It comes backed with dazzling remixes from Prins Thomas, man of the moment Bawrut and Irish outfit The Vendetta Suite who takes things in more of a weird and wonderful direction that the label also deals in.

Alexander Robotnick is a legendary Italian producer who had a big hit in the 80s with ‘Problèmes D'Amour’, produced many bands in the 90s and founded his own Hot Elephant label in the 2000s. From Italo-disco to electro he is a master synth manipulator who can go into new romantic o synth pop territory with an always futuristic vision. The original track on this EP was dropped by the likes of Gerd Janson, Dixon, Jackmaster and Peggy Gou in DJ sets and Boiler Rooms.

It is a playful track with a wild, unhinged lead synth line that burrows deep into your brain. Brightly glowing chords have real warmth and add irresistible colour to the track as they ride up and down the scales and the crisp boom bap drums pack a real dance floor punch.

Scandi-disco maestro Prins Thomas remixes it into brilliantly filthy disco cut with rasping bass and hip swaying drums. It builds the tension over three minutes, locking you in before psychedelic leads burst out of the mix and carry you into the cosmos.

Then it’s the much loved current champ Bawrut, whose old Scuola Furano project label boss Marco was the first to release on vinyl back in the early 2000s on Mantra Vibes. His version is a pumping old school house remix, with analogue bass and that unhinged lead synth line bringing the madness. It's filled with raw energy and will blow up any floor.

Last of all, The Vendetta Suite follows up his Solar Lodge 23 EP on this label in 2017 with a remix that is perfectly dreamy. His rippling synth puddles and sci-fi motifs are brilliantly rich and glowing and fill you with warmth. It's the sort of mind expanding track that leads you into a world of cosmic curveballs and cut from free the real world.

Especial is delighted to present Phil Gerus to the label, with his personal ode to relationships, Still Blind.  After acclaimed boogie, disco and italo tinged 12”s for the likes of Public Release, Superior Elevation, Leng and Sonar Kollektiv, here we present Gerus’ first solo full vocal performance - eschewing samples as a natural development.

Progressing confidently from his early excursions, Still Blind finds funk’d rhodes, Prophet 5 synth, guitar, slap bass and Linn drum all wrapped around a killer pots’n’pans groove, then sent to vintage cassette.  His heartfelt vocal, give a knowing, memory inducing cry that marries past and present as some Downtown NYC meets Europop, discoidiant dream.  

In best presenting Gerus’ first vox it seemed natural to ask Especial family member, friend and confidant Mr Philip Lauer to once again get behind the mixing desk.   Still Blind is just made for his melodic wunder; with an increasing penchant for all things synth-pop, his ubiquitous arpeggio heavy but beautiful tight, rising hats, nuanced dub programming, hands high strings, plus a way with melody that brings the reversion to dance floor transcendence.  

The 80s bromance complete, the flip is handed on a dubplate(r) to label remixer, designer and visionary, Jamie Paton to turn out another of his deep, drudge, dub outs.  Coming as both vocal remix and dub – again conjoined in “discomix” style for the brave (dead) heads – this is Paton at his brooding, echo laden best.   Rising and falling, Gerus’ refrain acting as dub melody around symphonic heavy bass.  Tune in and dub out.

B1. Still Blind (Jamie Paton Remix)

The clouds pile up in the Dresden autumn sky, but Uncanny Valley still sees a little bit of blue on the horizon. And why not looking on the bright side of life for a change? It’s appropriate. At least if you have five killer tracks in your bag. Anyway, the collaboration with the Leipzig graphic designer Doppeldenk proved to be very fruitful and has now produced the fourth of seven children. So, after PINK, RED and ORANGE, here is BLUE. May life be good to you.
Our pick up from this stunning compilation is a fresh breeze blows around your nose. In Brecht Hat Er, the mysterious Dresden underground formation AGB spreads wisdom in staccato mode, accompanied by Cold Wave-like music, which could also have been created in the shadows of the Berlin Wall. As the clock struck midnight, she made her way out into the night, closing the front door firmly behind her. This part of the evening always exhilarated her, the feeling of not knowing what the night would hold, of what excitement might lie ahead. She made her way to her favourite haunt, the place she always started the night's revelry, but she had no idea where she'd end up next. Planning wasn't her thing.

Hailing from Denmark, electro industrial duo CHAIRNOGOODFORBACK, comprising of experimental jazz drummer Frederik Hauch and saxophonist Rasmus Christian Pedersen, take a unique approach to electronic music. On their debut release for Music For Dreams' offshoot Music For Clubs, the pair exercise the principles of classical minimalism to stretch out the fluid grooves throughout, using everything from analogues synths to Hauch's drum samples and elements of music concrete. "Body music – but, you know, with a brain."
