JUNO Review:
Extremely limited, only 300 copies of this 12 minute dub wig-out have been pressed and they've promised no represses and certainly no digital. Cosmic with a heavy lolloping bass plod (think Norway's burgeoning sound in the mid noughties) expect to be completely washed out by shimmering oceanic guitar strums that sound like a really slo-mo, heavily processed sample of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" (but probably aren't). 
As the groove spirals into hypnotic bliss, the 12 minutes pass with a blink of the eye. 
Deliciously deep; Even a 30 minute edit of this wouldn't be long enough.

Just what you want to hear if you see HARVEY at 3am: a 12-minute long, deep, dubby, trippy, hypnotic disco workout that fuses guitar licks with chunky drums. 
It’s one of those tracks you’re already loving before the vocal drops in, meaning when it does a dancefloor orgasm isn’t out of the question.

The title 'Myth Machine' demonstrates all the richness of meanings that gives us words connected by genitive case: if you want, read it 'The Mythical Machine', or "The Machine Creating Myths".

Ambiguity here plays into our hands. This epic compilation by NEN Records is dedicated to myths as a ways of giving meaning to the suffocating meaningless reality. It is devoted to narratives, coherent or broken, that each of contributors create by their own lives. Perhaps, therefore, the release turned out to be so poly-stylistic, and there is nothing to be surprised at.

And of course, behind all these narratives, lurks the shadow of a huge and hardly perceived Machine, which severely cuts off the plot lines and - arbitrarily, it would seem, draws new ones.

Note: All tracks on the compilation are created on electronic machines of varying complexity, each of which, for sure, has a hidden desire to tell its own machine myth (and you can even distinguish it).

Volume  2  of  retakes  of  C  Cat  Trance’s  unique  post-punk  meets  world  beat  brings  the  collaboration  between  Malka  Tuti  and  Emotional  Rescue  to  a  close.Here  again,  the  label’s  call  in  a  selection  of  heads  to  re-envisage  a  modern  vision  of  the  music  to  present  a  perfect  representation  for  today.      Starting  with  Red  Axes  retake  of  an  almost  untouchable  classic,  the  booming,  sound  system-quaking  version  of  Shake  The  Mind  is  a  heads  down  mover  that  should  add  to  their  reputation  and  finally  give  DJ’s  a  follow  up  to  utilise.  Next,  Jamie  Paton  gives  the  perfect  trance-inducing,  dubbed  edit  of  Take  Me  To  The  Beach.      Looping  the  drums  and  horns  infinitum,  building  through  repetition  was  never  truer,  before  release.      His  individual  take  on  remixes  is  again  displayed,  deep  dubs  from  the  brethren.      To  close  the  2  EPs,  the  final  side  is  given  to  a  meeting  of  older  and  established  artist  and  new,  upcoming,  but  already  respecting  crew.      In  Prins  Thomas,  the  psychedelic  protagonist  of  the  heralded  northern  disco  lights,  his  name  was  first  to  be  penciled.      His  live,  drum-heavy  reversions  have  become  trademark  and  in  Sudaniyya,  it’s  all  there.      Subtle,  confident  and  alluring,  Thomas  builds  to  a  steady  jam  of  machine  and  man,  letting  it  all  hang  and  simply,  groove  along.        In  finale,  Khidja  bring  in  friend  and  fellow  Romanian  production  rising  star,  Borusaide  to  cover  Simple  Helen.      A  slow-burning  ode  in  original  form,  their  genius  reversion  captures  the  essence  and  much  more,  giving  C  Cat  Trance’s  music  a  whole  new  lease,  while  presenting  their  production  talent  and  musicianship.    As  was  the  hope  and  intention  of  these  updated  versions  -  Re-mixes  for  the  21st  Century  -  with  a  nod  to  the  past,  but  feet  firmly  in  the  future. The french artist Dombrance continues his series of tracks and songs inspired by politicians.

"These are not political songs, I just get inspired by their names and personality" says the producer on an interview with French TV.

In collaboration with Bufi, this is the first time Dombrance uses a non-french politician, choosing the recently elected Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AKA AMLO) and his controversial personality as his victims. Mockery or hommage? Is up to you to decide.

The single is complemented by a dreamy "Tulum" and magnificent re interpretations from in-house artists Mijo & Perfect Lovers, and Ambiance.
