John Parlsey composed his debut release on @lustpoderosa using his very own interpretation of a post minimal wave synth aesthetic. It came out as magical dark and gloomy four tracker which is packed with immersive rhytms, weird staccato voices, claustrophobic acid lines paired with hopeful melodies. Alex Over continues to showcase his dynamic electronic sounds with 'The People,' a third fantastic release on his Perpetual Collective label. This new single comes hot on the heels of the first two EPs in the second half of 2021 and again confirms Over is hugely prolific while keeping quality levels high. For many years now, he has been deeply immersed in the scene as a remixer, host of the U-Turn podcast, and experimental producer who has shared stages with the likes of James Zabiela. His long-awaited debut album is scheduled for release in Summer 2022 but before that comes 'The People.' This new release has two distinctive sides: an experimental original more suited to home listening, and a club edit that caters more to DJs and dancers. 'The People' (Original Version) is a brilliantly heavy track with muscular drums stomping out the groove. Twisted synths, rugged hits and dark spoken words all add to the intensity as rave, techno, bass and more all collide thrillingly. The Club Edit has a variety of influences and a more bass-driven sound that makes it ideal for club nights. The drums will lock in any crowd while the haunting voices remain in place to inject constant dynamism. 'The People' is another superb addition to Over's ever-growing discography and one that highlights his constantly evolving style.

With releases on Urban Connections, Abseits Recordings, Diffuse Reality and Bass Agenda Recordings as Nuklear Prophet, the LA-based DJ/producer readies his full-length album ‘Prophecies 11:21’ for Utrecht-based U-Trax. Formed of an eclectic and energetic collection of gems mined from his overwhelming archive, the album takes in genres such as Electro, Hip Hop, Footwork, Juke, and beyond.

Leading the release is the 808 luminary Egyptian Lover’s remix of ‘L.A. Rockz’, featured on the recently released ‘L.A. Rockz’ EP, kicking off the LP with his trademark 808-infused sound. A nod to Detroit-flavoured Electro is presented via the dark and brooding tracks ‘Nuklear Prophet’, ‘808 Plague’, and ‘Compton’, with the lighter atmospherics of the genre covered on ‘Solar Winds’.

‘Everlastin’ Bass’, ‘Back Up Off My Tip’, and ‘The Train Ride To Coconino’ offer Footwork inspired bangers, with the latter previously featured on the Legowelt curated U-Trax compilation ‘U R Here!’ earlier this year. Moving across a spectrum of tempos, styles, and moods across the album, exemplified on the sluggish trip-hop of ‘The Mars Goblin’, Nuklear Prophet expertly touches on a range of bass-driven genres, displaying his widespread influences and knack for hard-hitting production throughout.

Hailing from downtown Los Angeles, Nuklear Prophet, aka Erik Villalpando, is heavily influenced by West Coast Hip Hop and Electro. Winning multiple DJ awards, including 3x World Records DJ Competition under his DJ Dope-E alias, Villalpando cites his inspiration as coming from some of the most influential Los Angeles DJs of his childhood, including Tony G, DJ Joe Cooley, Julio G, and DJ Aladdin.

Mark Du Mosch is a master of electronics. Gracing a glut of labels in a career spanning more than a decade, he arrives at Schrödinger’s Box with a very special release. Presence is a fiver tracker of enviable quality. Set in the canon of warm techno, Du Mosch focuses on melody and texture. “Studio M Uno” is bright and unassuming, “Koriander” both assured and fragile. The tracks on offer feel like the musical accompaniment to a Summer’s day, a time where cares are in the present and future worries do not exist. The unseen complexities of the everyday are an audio focus, the intertwined interplay of drum patterns in “Mrk I Utilities” and the mechanical dawn of the title piece throb with a human pulse. Always present, but never imposed, is the techno composition that brought this dutchman to the attention of so many. This is plain to hear in the diverse threads that are collected to produce the rich and varied closer, “Too Much.”
