This time they bring us an EP of digger delights from Frankfurt’s under the radar production trio of Manfred Holz, Michael Buchner and Jürgen Blömke. Operating under two different aliases, on the A is The Soundstealers’ revered '80s electro nugget, 'Steal It An Deal It'. The flip brings to light the obscure acid chugger ‘Amazonia’, complete with a balearic rework from London’s tropical twosome Good Block.

With his EP “Selected Four" St. Petersburg based Bogdan Ra (@bogdan_ra) takes on Russian poetry and recontextualizes the Russian silver age. Drawing from the splendidness of Disco, Italo, and Funk and combining it with his genuine vocals, Bogdan Ra definitely marks a silver lining for contemporary Indie-Dance with a sound that doesn't take itself too seriously but stays deeply honest. This throughout authentic four-tracker from the most ambitious producer we know will soon run from the stack of Schrott Rec (@schrottrec).

“Alen”, shines with a strong encouraging bassline that‘s gonna stay in your head. Doesn‘t matter if you call it new-age disco or future funk - your legs will move anyway.

RFX worked on three edits with some heavy celestial aspect and punchy drum machines to be played in revolutionary parties that will come in the next years. Jackit went for a retro downtempo FM vibe with mesmerising drum works and hard breaks with flutes so that you feel in Vietnam.

Discos Capablanca return with a record from the mysterious Detroit-based Sharif Laffrey (we know little more than his place of birth, and that he likes to ride his bike and warm weather) who brings the heat on the Turn It Up 12". Recorded in Detroit in the late 80s and released on a cassette tape compilation in 1988, the original "Turn It Up" is a long forgotten gem from the period that Electro was beginning to morph and mutate into nascent forms of Techno. Excavated by Hugo Capablanca's label, the track is presented in an edited version that stays true to the original and complemented by an Acid Dub Not Dub version that implements plenty of deranged 303 action.

Ric Piccolo (The man from Pampas)is an Argentine music producer and Dj who explores different genres such as Disco, Wave, House and Rare Grooves with experimental/leftfield concepts.
He is also digger, reworker and remixer of all obscure gems from the Argentine 70’s and 80’s scene with his mix series PampasDiscoShock and his 12” releases series AustralWorks and The Sound Of Pampas.
As a Dj, his style ranges from obscure Disco madness to the most innovative current sounds for the dancefloor. His Freestyle sets are always remembered.

Furor Exótica is an Argentinian Disco/House duo from Buenos Aires, formed in 2013 by the vocalist Viky O. and the producer Ric Piccolo.
Furor Exótica live sets combine jamming vocals with floating rhythms and synthesizers, for a non-stop dancing atmosphere.

Dance for Relief is a project that's been on our minds for a while as a way using our music to help raise funds for causes that we are passionate about. With the world currently struggling with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic now felt like it would be the right time to get this project started.

The first project under this banner is a compilation of edits, remixes and secret weapons from various friends, with Volume 1 focusing on cosmic, tribal and trancey sounds of the 90s.

All money from this release will go straight to Direct Relief (directrelief.org), a charity who's mission is to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies, and who are doing great work to ensure that protective gear and critical care medications get to as many health workers as possible. We felt they were a particularly both in the midst of current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

Finally, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all the artists involved who have given their skills and time during a difficult period to help make this release happen in support of a worthy cause.

One year after the release of Roland Kaiser Wilhelm's acclaimed „Indigo EP“, the Berlin/Cologne label Papercup Records delivers two top-notch remixes. While Roland relocated from Cologne to Berlin, also changing his label and adding more live-played funkiness to his Balearic Barock sound, Lucas Croon, the title track's remixer, still resides in the Rhine-capital (and home of DAF and Kraftwerk) Düsseldorf, where he deejays in the famous Salon des Amateurs as a resident, when not playing in his bands BAR (Band am Rhein) or Stabil Elite, producing his own music or working on movie soundtracks. But he has also been visible in the Berlin club-scene a lot lately (well, before Corona, that was), shaking the floor in places like Paloma Bar, ACUD or Arkaoda.

His „Indigo Blue Jeans Mix“ relies heavily on the famous slapbass patch from Korg's classic M1 synthesizer workstation, while also adding pitched real and sampled vocals and lush chords. Its playfulness suits the track pretty well, and the production is so rich in detail it's an extreme pleasure listening to it both in the club or on headphones. The beat evolving from broken into straight four-to-the-floor also makes it an ideal bridge track to clubbier parts in a set.

Conga Fever's „Hookah Mix“ of the track Archangelsk is a whole different affair, a deep, oriental journey with fat bass and a truly massive drop. It's still utterly melodic though, and the visionary melodic guidance sets itself apart from most of the current productions out there.

Both tracks have been lovingly mastered by Berlin's Steddy, who really knows how to meticulously shape the sound of any track in order to bring fatness to the dancefloor.
