Roughion delve deep into their classical music memory with the release of Play Piano out on Hotwire (date TBD).  
 
Following on from their acidic releases of 2021 so far (Polarize - Mr Phormula Roughion Remix [Mr Phormula Records] and Living For Free - Shamoniks Roughion Remix [bandcamp exclusive]) this is their first original release of this year and takes deep dives into their musical history from Steffan’s classical background and Gwion’s DJing background. Play Piano subtly hints at Darude Sandstorm from the rolling baselines whilst simultaneously having an aura of mystery and class from the grand piano. Play Piano can be enjoyed at home or in a club environment as seen in Roughion’s DJ set for BBC Wales last summer. With more and more releases Roughion hone in on a signature sound and Play Piano plants itself right in the middle of what Roughion aim to achieve.

Surely one of the biggest underground tracks of the summer in Ibiza and beyond, ‘Don't Forget To Go Home' by Emanuel Satie gets  some remix treatment. The first part includes the Original Dub Version by Emanuel himself, a re-edit from Rebirth’s boss Shield and a remix from Black Loops.

A former Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune on BBC Radio 1, and supported by names as diverse as  Sven Väth, Kolsch, Luciano, Dj Koze, Lee Burridge, Guy Gerber, Claptone, François Kevorkian, and even Tïesto….'Don't Forget To Go Home' is a future classic, mixing jazz with deep house ! 
The track is a collaboration with the internationally renowned drumming virtuoso, percussionist, composer Billy Cobham and Nicolosi Production. The Jazz fusion pioneer has dedicated his whole life to musical exploration and creative expression,  working with artists like Miles Davis, Horace Silver and George Benson. 
The label boss Shield loved the track so much and decided to give the track his personal touch. The edit features a new afro rhythm pattern played by Carlos Santana’s percussionist Idrissa Diop, psychedelic effects created with the EMS Synthi Aks and an additional rhodes part. The result is fantastic. Emanuel delivers an exceptional stripped out dubby version, a bass-rolling peak-time house number for the dancefloor, while Black Loops, the italian house duo based in Berlin, strip the musical theme back for a deeper version with a funky disco vibe.

It was back in 2010 when Polish artists Grzegorz Demiañczuk and Wojciech Tarañczuk founded PETS Recordings, the same year when the duo's  sophomore album Escape from Zoo was released – not on the newly founded imprint though. It took another three years then until Grzegorz and Wojciech, commonly known under Catz 'n Dogz and former underground act 3 Channels, put their first EP with Eats Everything out on the label. However, with PETS Recordings the artists have always followed a balanced selection of releasing music from aspiring and renowned artists, from local acts to global players, from Deep House to Techno but always meaningful and foremost beautiful music. For the label's 10th anniversary the duo compiled a 12-track strong various artist compilation coming in three parts and portraying the label's past years musically and hosting tracks from affiliates like Bawrut, Jeigo, Das Komplex, KiNK, Catz 'n Dogz themselves and Studio Barnhus label head Axel Boman. The Stockholmer contributes his take Pink Mist, a rather deep musical approach to the collection. An intriguing chord-sequence underlaid with organs and stalactite sounds as well as sparely used but thus even more catchy spoken vocals Boman creates a track that not only finds a home on the compilation but will do in many DJ playlists as it combines a decent groove with deep melodies that taint one's mind like only love can and therefore hits close to every music lover's heart.

10 Years Of PETS Recordings Part 2 will be released on December 11th, 2020.
