Once upon a time, on the eastern bank of The White River, when the fertile lands witnessed the most tremendous flames that had ever occurred, a divine spirit appeared blandly in the foggy waters. Cloaked in black garments, with ink-fish rings adorning every single finger and an ophidian mark on the countenance, the uncanny figure emerged from the water and extinguished the inferno as it slowly walked towards the scorching lands. Known as "Personal Sauveur" by the people, the figure began revealing the essence of the creative life force to the first Kalamari tribe and then vanished swiftly.

At the dawn of a makeshift civilization, the icon of "Personal Sauveur" started to be venerated throughout the Kalamari empire. The people chose to forsake their sun-worshipping beliefs and all symbols of oppression associated with them. Instead, the believers embraced an alternative way of life: harvesting forest fruits under the dark starry nights, transforming their lucid dreams into ritual chants, venerating earthly spirits in plural form, paying reverence to the sacred waters, and transforming every sickness into a profound body of knowledge. For centuries, the Kalamari mankind lived in peaceful harmony until the wicked despots returned and decimated the entire population. It marked the end of an era, so they say…

In 2020, a fortuitous discovery was made when a suitcase filled with mummified ink-fish rings was found in the swampy soils of a Brussels suburb. The antique treasure quickly captivated the Pathfinder's imagination. After some time, he decided to delve deeper into the lost civilization and felt compelled to revive it. He felt a strong sense of duty to embark on the "Personal Sauveur" quest, with everything beginning in the birthplace. As he set foot on the promised land, he found himself amidst dilapidated concrete social projects, shattered ethanol bottles strewn across the streets, GHB-infused strippers haggling at bus stops, and renowned bench street poets.


In the heart of the megalopolis, one day, the trio crossed paths at Bazar Olimpia while searching for specific weaponry and began discussing the destruction of symbols of oppression. Soon after, they united their weapons and devised a master plan to rewrite history once more. Drawing inspiration from post-communist and early capitalist field recordings, French-Polish slang slug rhymes, proto-paleo synth wave, and Eastern riddims, the band created a danceable and mesmerizing journey through the shanty town.


The debut album opens with 'Hydra Psalm,' a preaching ode to the tribe believers infused with a kosmische psych-rock undertone. 'Bania Maryja' refers to the symbol of oppression, the Virgin Maria, imposed during the Christian era. It combines Brussels-slang experimental rap with an abyssal scream groove. The terrestrial beat of "Praga Medina'' takes you on a lighthearted cruise through the district, capturing all its distinctive delights. 'The Kalamari People' presents a linguistic reinterpretation of the lost tribe dialect through modern calypso-xylo and infectious thumpadumpa rhythms. And last but not least, 'Kikimora' is a mechanical dark-o-punk tribute to the capricious witch of the night.

PREMIERE : Personal Sauveur - Bania Maryja

Manchester band RSL reform and release their award-winning vinyl album ‘Every Preston Guild’ digitally for the first time! RSL got together 20 years ago and was founded by bassist Joe Botham, keys player Martin Almond and drummer Chas Morrison, after meeting mid-90s during the explosion of house, hip hop, and drum & bass. Despite spending most of their time locked away in a studio, they dipped into the eclectic club life of post-indie Manchester. Both Joe and Martin studied music and orchestration at Salford University while Chas’ musical career started early, signing to Tony Wilson’s Factory Records. The music they created was something you would more likely expect to hear coming out of Southern Spain or Spanish Harlem, combining jazz sensibilities with uplifting driving beats, heavy percussion, soaring vocals, dark brass, and touches of deep flamenco brought together with classic vintage production. 
Fast forward to 2023, RSL digitally release their 2003 album – only ever out on vinyl before - that includes the spiritual house anthem ‘Wesley Music’ on its 20th Anniversary. The track was voted ‘Track of The Year’ by listeners of Gilles Peterson's 2003 Worldwide Show on Radio 1. The followup single ‘The Mast’ was also an underground hit, being licensed around the world for multiple compilations, including Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide series, Village Records and Dave Lee’s - In the House.
On Friday 14th July - ahead of the full digital album release on 4th August - the band will make the single ‘The Mast’available to stream and download. The single will be released exclusively on Bandcamp as a remix package, with all its component parts provided. Fans or producers alike will be able to download and remix or re-edit the track as they wish, whether that be for fun, or as a DJ tool. In addition, the original 8piece line-up is playing at We Out Here Festival, Blues Kitchen, Manchester, and the Jazz café.  Finally, back in time some hefty remixes were done of ‘The Mast’ and‘Wesley Music’ by the mighty King Britt & Danny Krivit. We have included them in your promo package!

After our debut vinyl release “Cosmic Vibrations” with Rush City x Handerk we are ready to present our second vinyl release. This time one of our label founders Jonathan Lopez A.K.A Jonahlo wants to take you in a psychedelic journey on his new EP “ACID DAYS”; a four track EP where each track gets you through a different state of mind.

Jonahlo is an amazing musician, jazz bass player and producer from Bogotá, Colombia. He has released music on labels such as Nomada Records, Night Young and Otayana Records.

This trip starts with “Acid Days”; a superb Deep House anthem with layers of evolving sounds, exquisite melodies and uplifting chord progressions that make us take off and start feeling 100% positive. You can hear samples from cinema describing how it feels when you start connecting and being one with nature.

The following track is “Particles”; on this track Jonahlo goes deeper, evoking hypnotic and far-sighted moods of melancholy. At this point we start pondering about the universe’s infinite dimension and imagining particles vibrating as we fall into our deepest thoughts.

On the flip- side we bump into “Lost Mind”, a percussive deep techno with spacey and bleepy sounds reminding us that 90’s uk old-school style. Now is the time to get lost in the moment after going through the trip’s hard peak where you really start letting go.

The release closes with “It’s Alright”; a good vibe deep sampled house track that tell us to take it easy, to just relax and appreciate life.

The Album cover was disigned by incredible Colombian artist Jose Mejía which represents a flower going through the process of questioning oneself and coming out transformed on the other side. It is a process of exploration, discovery, and rebirth.

We recently discovered the German collective through their top notch compilation "Slow Cuts EP" made of original new music highly inspired by early 90's stuff, from new jack to obscure instrumental hip hop! Then we investigated their 'Super Sound Global Edits Vol. 1' which brought us to propose them to be featured on our series! As a result, we received this funky tribal progressive house gem! Keita Sano is a prolific Japanese producer who has released on revered labels such as Mister Saturday Night, Let’s Play House, Morris Audio and 1080P. His fusion of dark, distorted, acidic textures and crunchy disco beats gives his productions a unique sound which works perfectly for Delusions Of Grandeur and the label is proud to welcome him for his debut DOG EP entitled ‘Love Is Emotion’.
 
The title track comes on like a proverbial runaway train with heavy, pounding beats and bassline forging things ahead while the most twisted, tripped out FX rise and fall creating an absolute juggernaut of a track which takes no prisoners. A deceptively simple DJ tool which is loaded with drama for maximum impact on the more left of centre dance floors. Up next is Violet’ ‘which takes a low-slung deep house approach but with the grit and dirt that Keita always brings to the party. The first half teases with tension-building chords and syncopated bassline which bounces around a massive four on the floor kick drum. Things fall away in the middle to reveal a beautiful, heartwarming piano part, setting the scene before things get truly epic with orchestral strings bringing a touch of film noir to the proceedings. 
 
‘I’m A Man’ picks up the pace again for an intense acid work out which pushes the sonic boundaries to the limits with seriously warped FX creating mayhem around a simple, percussive disco groove. As secret weapon DJ tools go, this is right up there. Closing out this mind-bending release Keita remains in experimental mode on ‘Love Is Emotion’ offsetting melodic arpeggios and sweet chords with off-kilter sonic madness ensuring things remain dark, dirty and deep.
