Nick J. Smith drops his debut EP under the Lone Saxon name with 4 original cuts designed for the dance floor and multiple feels. Heavily influenced by his love of the early 90's ethereal Italian Dream House/Rimini sound. Joining the dots between the Italian house train parties and northern warehouses, creating an emotive sound of dance floors lost for present day hedonism.

Frankfurt based producer dj/producer Martin Heimann presents his debut single “Salto” on Carry On. Remaining faithful to its name, the small label puts out another piece of limited wax every once in a long while. Enrooted  in  the  soundscapes  of  80's  proto-house,  the original  version  of  Salto  is  a thriving  piece  of  octave  liberation.  Consistent  changes  between  harmonics  break  up  the repetitive structure, while FM pads and the 303 are performing a little duet.
The release is ennobled by two proper remixes from LYO favorites Moon B and Jex Opolis ! Jex remix here featured comes with some embellishment to the cords, change in the bassline and a nice 808 snap. On top Mr Opolis adds some mysterious and cheesy vocals samples that match perfect with the moody 80's orchestral stabs, dope ! Expected for end march

Having shared edit duties on Universal Cave’s 10th release, Philadelphia duo Superprince take the reins solo for UC011 with four slices of Philly rework heat.
From the soulful Caribbean funk of ‘Mama’ to the syupy, slo-mo boogie of ‘Rose’, the A side is a sublime double header of slow jams to kick off the EP.
On the B side, Superprince picks up the pace with delicious, private press disco for the dancefloor in the form of ‘Come To Me’, before the dubbed-out balearic bliss of ‘Buy You A Dream’ closes out the affair with a chuggier and cheekier high note.

The product of an intense love affair with the Casio CZ-5000 synthesiser, the eCZtasy EP sees the cult producer, DJ, remixer, NTS resident and label head Ruf Dug release on his own label for the first time in 4 years. 2019 was the year that Manchester’s Simon Hindle released EPs on Futureboogie and Rhythm Section, tackled FACT’s Against The Clock and embarked on a tour that took in Pikes, Gottwood, Love International, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Moscow and more. He kicks off 2020 with the first release on a reinvigorated Ruf Kutz label.

Ruf Dug says “After hearing the Satoshi & Makoto album and checking their youtubes I just HAD to own a CZ-5000… it wasn’t long till I managed to snare one and got lost in its tones… this record contains some of the highlights of that whirlwind romance.”

The A side sees Ruffy in full-on peaking rave mode as opener INWARD CONVERSION PROCESS shows off the classy, glassy tones of the CZ-5000 from the outset as 11th chords stack up on one another to create a euphoric future anthem that takes in the best bits of prog, trance, dream house - with the occasional zouky drum pattern to remind you that the tropical cyberpunk is at the console.

There’s no time to rest up as we cascade immediately into WET PLAY BANGER - surely Ruf Dug’s trackiest release ever, almost a DJ tool more than a tune. The CZ’s sequencer comes into play here as pattern after pattern collide, co-mingle and then disperse with the effect of boosting dopamine & serotonin levels in all who experience. Named for the infamous Manchester club night which Ruffy & pals started, this one has been stress-tested on the universe’s finest dance floor and emerged, wide-eyed and mindless, to be captured here on wax for you…

The B side welcomes a change of pace. Opener SHOPPIN has the CZ-5000 re-purposed as Balearic conspirator, adding an ibicenco skank & sandy pans to a rugged DMX beat that suggests Laid Back making a lost dub for Saada Bonaire. The B2, FRUITY DANCE, sprays a cubensis mist over the Casio and dials the exotica setting up to infinity as woozy bells and live drum samples get all tapey and loose to close out a very welcome return to Ruf Kutz for its proprietor.

She was beautiful, elegant and charming. She moved across the room with grace and caught the attention of wandering eyes who watched onwards from beside the pool. She sipped from a tall drink as the wind blew softly in the midst of what was a warm summer afternoon. Out here in the countryside, the world was peaceful and innocent. The air was clean and pure, the people kind and good. This was the land of Baila, a sun kissed tropical paradise beneath blue skies. 

Pitto is set to release a new EP via Heist Recordings. A euphoric, driven, dance floor focussed EP with energy and promise. It's reminiscent of late nights and warm climates.

Legendary Adriatic DJ and producer Verdo doesn't release often, but when he does you need to listen. He always has one foot on the dancefloor, while the other makes a leap into outer space.

Resident at the infamous Gratis Club in Senigallia, a skilled musician who brings virtuoso playing and someone with his own immediately identifiable sound, Verdo is a real hidden treasure. The Italian has previously released on Danny Was A Drag King and also this label back in 2017, and mixes up anything from afro to acid, disco to downtempo in his grooves.

'Symmetry' kicks off in strident fashion, with throwback piano chords lighting up the airwaves as stomping drums make you move. It's the sound of an all out celebration of the sort we have all been missing recently. 'Babbions' strikes a more tender note, with warm chords rising up through the cosmic arps and long legged drums. It's a twinkling track that glows bright and lifts your spirits no end.

'Procida' layers up more retro-future chords with bubbling melodies and star-gazing pads that will soundtrack sunsets by the sea in perfect fashion. "Second Trip' is a thoughtful track that sinks you into warm grooves, with shimmering keys that bring the romance. This one also comes as a bonus beatless version for lush ambient escapism and sentimental moments.
