Black Light Smoke returns to his Death Decay Magic imprint alongside Léah Lazonick for ‘Work’, backed by remixes from Happy707 and Dina Summer.
A Chicago native now based in New York, Jordan Lieb, aka Black Light Smoke, is an artist who wears many stripes within the realms electronic music. A DJ, producer, songwriter and composer, the diverse talent has also added the title of label boss to his resumé in recent years having founded his imprint, Death Decay Magic. Launched in 2020, releasing material spanning techno, EBM, electro and beyond, the label has welcomed releases and remixes from artists such as Cardopusher, The Hacker and MAN 2.0, to name just a few. Returning for his second EP on the label, mid-June sees Lieb partner alongside Brooklyn-based vocalist and producer Léah Lazonick for ‘Work’, accompanied by remixes from Argentinian duo Happy707 and trio Dina Summer - a collective made up of Kalipo and Local Suicide. Don't be annoying to the lady, she doesn't have time to listen to your useless mixex, and also fpr dj's.

PREMIERE – Francisco and Malkuth - Night Of The Creeps (Bordello A Parigi)

A steadfast beat pulsed from the speakers in each corner of the room, unrelenting in its energy and pace. You could barely make out the shapes of bodies amidst the smoke and the haze, only flickers of silhouettes would form when the strobes flashed. Tonight was a special night, it would be one of the last times they'd dance in this space; somewhere they'd frequented for many years; somewhere they called home. What would come next they didn't know, but at least they'd always have the memories of the freedoms this dance floor had given them...

Ombra International bring friends together for one last hurrah to close out the year. Their VA releases have become a cornerstone of the label catalogue and have connected artists from across the world who are operating in similar sonic territory, namely threads of acid, wave, new beat, EBM and post-punk.

For this one, which also marks the label's 24th release, they enlist the help of Tallin-based producer Sugar Rody, who makes his label debut; as does uju Records boss Shubostar with a new beat club cut; then we're treated to a flip of an 80s classic from Unconscious that features Ombra boss Curses on Vox; before the record is closed out by the guitar and synths of Milan's Astroloop and the psychedelic sounds of Chilean producer Aural Trace.

Title of the track, written and produced in 2018, sounds a little risky considering nowadays geopolitical context, but rules are simple - you can’t take a lyric out of a track. Some serious bass line action here, you must check it out.
“Singapūras” is a tribute to the country Shkema has never been to. Massive flute solo, wonderful percussion section and a dream to go there one day. Disco Mortale (previously known as Daniel Monaco) delivered an Italian bass slapping boogie version of “Atomik Bomb”. Proper 80s vibe, perfect for a ride in Miami, driving a red
