Just over a year ago, SEWA (Sewa Choki) introduced us to "Ritual del Aceite," a piece that merges the ancestral rhythms of her Yaqui heritage with a futuristic approach she has coined "Cyber Tribal." Now, this powerful work returns in a reimagined form with a remix EP, where some of the most intriguing names in the electronic landscape offer their unique interpretations.

DJ Babatr, Trinity Megas, Santa Niña, Sissel Wincent, and Arieshandmodel join SEWA on this project, breathing new life into "Ritual del Aceite" with remixes that explore diverse textures and soundscapes. Each remixer leaves their distinct mark, pushing the original track into new realms—from the deep beats of DJ Babatr's Raptor House to the dense atmospheres of Sissel Wincent.

The EP also features a special edit by SEWA herself, completing the cycle of this conceptual work that reflects the symbiotic and conflicting relationship between humanity and the exploitation of the Earth. These remixes expand "Ritual del Aceite" into an even more immersive and multi-sensory experience, where the ancestral and synthetic continue to intertwine in unexpected and provocative ways.

SEWA -  Ritual Del Aceite (DJ Babatr Rapacious Mix)

As autumn kicks in north of the equator, International Chrome brings a little bit of the global south sunlight as Miss Jay teams up with Sukubratz resulting in the Latin hyperpop stomp of Destello. 


After the release of the well-received mixtape, [untitled], Romanian DJ and producer, Miss Jay, started working with Sukubratz, a Chilean-Italian producer, and vocalist to unite a love of heavily processed vocals with the influence of South American pop. The collaboration meant both artists encouraged and accompanied each other out of their respective comfort zones, with Miss Jay trying out much slower tempos than usual, and Sukubratz leaving their usual spoken word style behind to sing on the track. ‘Destello’ is a Spanish word meaning spark, beam, or sparkle; something reflected in the bright shimmer of the music which has burnished, lustrous sheen, a trademark of the Romanian producer’s work. 

Sukubratz explains the lyrics, “[They] represent a celebration of my surroundings, they evoke the mood and situations that I have/had/and keep experiencing in the club. These moments refer to me and my friends and community being a sharp spark through the night. I used to dislike the club space before approaching it as a DJ and being able to control the crowd, hence why I approach it in a completely different way now after years of working in one and obviously looking for exciting revenge through my writing”

Backing this up, the track has been reworked by an equally glittery collection of artists: the now-Atlanta-based French legend, Brodinski, adds a harder edge with distorted 909 drums, while Amantra ramps up both the tempo with hard kicks fueling her take on the Destello remix with Latin lore.
Keeping things strictly South American, Mexico’s rising star, DJ Fucci turns the track into a Latin club banger, and Brazil's RKills adds a touch of Baile shine to the mix whilst maintaining a crossover sound.

This material features 22 Evil Geniuses who create madness, flavor and emotions through an absolute feeling for the dance floor.

Monte y Culebra is a well-known saying in Venezuela. we want to present an aesthetic point of view that sets us in a hybrid world, between jungle images, and the rawness of the street.

We are 16 Venezuelans present in this curation, interpreting what we could call Venezuelan Electronic Music. With the intention of portraying a possible narrative with these sounds, inspired by the aesthetics of our current context.

These Changa tracks are full of rhythmic, rapacious, technical patterns, many flavors that ensure enjoyment. A loving letter to the memories of our youth listening to samples of Waldemaro Martinez (La Voz de Venezuela) sounding in the minitecas.

We also have a clear influence from Footwork Chicago, DJ Elmoe, known for making the album "Werkin In Da Circle (2007)" in the era of myspace, a key reference of taste in this curation. Also present is Deejay YB (Gutta Soundz) granting a track that sets the mood for a virtuous dance battle.

Likewise, we also have a diverse Latin American contribution, La Wachita China from Argentina, with his characteristic, robotic and catchy Reggaethron. Toby with a track that explores an exquisite UKG with tribal nuances. Isablu and Aleroj bringing Colombian flavor at high speed.

The Rumba is a Monte, and we are its Culebras.
