[PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB] is pleased to present its 87th release: Anchoret (@anchoret) – Winter Cigarette EP.

The first release of this winter, where the cold of Pittsburgh turns into sonic vapor. In winter the city resembles a giant ashtray of concrete and steam. Here the winter cigarette burns not with tobacco, but with noise, rhythm, and deep reflections — as if the city exhales music through steel bridges and snowy winds.

Original works:
::: Winter Cigarette — Anchoret lights the first track, smoldering with a cold dub pulse that slowly spreads across riverbanks, bridges, and old rail lines. Every hit falls like snow; every click sparks like frost in the air.
::: Whatever — an inner detachment, nearly chaotic yet surprisingly focused. Anchoret exhales doubts through a steady, linear beat while the delay gathers fragments of thought into a single spiral.
::: Curious — a midnight rave inside an introvert’s mind: curiosity instead of aggression, bass instead of voice, space instead of answers.
::: Alabaster — like a lantern’s glow reflected in snow: white, yet filled with countless shades hiding the city’s old industrial tales.

Then the interpreters step in, each offering a new way to hold the cold with bare fingers:
::: Francesco Tamburrano (@ft-dubtechno) bends Curious into a hypnotic whirl, shifting the trajectory of its rising smoke.
::: Oldschool_Dubtechno .Producer (@enercube & @x_fr) transforms Alabaster into a Frosted Redub — frost over reverb, each echo denser than winter ice.
::: Daverage J. Normal (@thedaverage) lifts Winter Cigarette onto the rooftops of a concrete world, giving every beat a sharper urban pulse.
::: Radio Badjay (@radiobadjay) rebuilds Whatever into a full radio transmission — as if the track bursts into late-night airwaves from afar.
::: Aritomi (@aritomi) reimagines Curious as a whisper inside a late-night metro train, where footsteps and bass fall in perfect sync.
::: Juan Moreno (@juanmorenomusica), in his Clear & Warm Remix, melts Alabaster from within: the snow under his hands does not dissolve — it begins to glow, softly, deeply, endlessly.

Winter Cigarette EP is like a trail of vapor in the frost: it vanishes, yet remains in memory. A sound that links Pittsburgh and Siberia with an invisible line of cold and rhythm. This release is a never-freezing smoke break for those who hear music in factory pipes, cracking ice, and the old whistle of the techno scene. Winter doesn’t ask if You’re ready. Winter Cigarette is already glowing somewhere between Pittsburgh and Novosibirsk — just breathe in deeper.

Anchoret - Curious (Francesco Tamburrano Remix)

"Feel the Drive" launches a new label with a four-track EP.  First there were the parties, then came the radio shows, and now the label.  Szymek Lawik and Martin Lefteri spend their lives digging up Italo, New Beat and EBM delights, so a record label was a logical progression.  It’s the perfect distillation of their combined tastes and determination to search for new music.  The four-track debut EP features Franz Scala (Bahnsteig 23, Tusk Wax, Cocktail d'Amore), Anatolian Weapons (Beats in Space, Dark Entries), Furor Exótica  (Bordello a Parigi, Sprechen) and the label heads themselves under their Ondata guise (Red Laser, Night Noise Music).  
 
First up is Franz Scala, with “Sabrina”.  A pulsing, new beat thrum bolts out of the gate, setting the pace with conviction. This straight-ahead velocity leans to guitar licks and Italo horn stabs, before you know it, you’re transported - hugging the curves and corners along with the motorik rhythm.   Shifting down a gear , the EP heads east with “Ela” as Anatolian Weapons light up the skies with  slow-burning intensity delivered with conviction. Exotic synth melodies, dextrous string playing and rolling acid lines carve out a unique path through the terrain, leaving no choice but to follow in its slipstream. 
 
Argentinian duo Furor Exótica  pick up the pace with “Fat Training”, an arpeggio-supercharged dancer guaranteed to lift the spirits and recharge the batteries come 3am. This track carries its momentum up front and its boogie in the back.  Closer “Kolossos” is an apt moniker for this no-nonsense, heads-down monster. It’s a neon-lit tunnel late at night, alien light throwing repetitive, yet slowly shifting shapes against sheer walls as you move through.  “It’s not as bad for humankind to be dominated by me than to be dominated by others of your species” a voice intones as we reach our destination. It’s metal machine music to save us from ourselves.

There was barely a ripple as he looked out upon the lake, it was quiet and peaceful in the valley and nothing moved nearby. The still waters reflected the radiant blue sky up above and looked as welcoming as ever. It had been years since he had last visited this place for it was not always easy to find or to make time for. He had walked and climbed for days to rediscover his youth, to recapture the very reason for his being and evaluate his choices. Now as he swam in the glistening lake everything made more sense, it was fluid and logical like never before. 

Rob Belleville is set to release a new EP on Fluid Electronics, a beautiful sun kissed assortment of melodic house and balearic influences. However, it also features a punchy remix from Conforce, a techno version of the track "Still Waters". It's great.

His finger hovered over the button hesitantly, his willingness to press it coming and going in waves. Once he hit it that was it, there was no going back, no beta mode to save him. The risk seemed to outweigh the return, and it would be on his shoulders, and his only, if there were any glitches. He knew he'd have to bite the bullet soon enough, but until then he'd let the anxiety gnaw away a little longer...

Our good friend Timothy Clerkin is back with another batch of acid-tinged bangers on his Insult To Injury imprint, run with our good selves, this time courtesy of Manchester-based producers Buran, with two remixes from Kincaid and Earth Trax. Spawned from several live jams, which have barely been edited before going to press, in typical ITI fashion the two originals pack a punch from the off, bringing together acid bass lines, rumbling low end and thumping kicks.

Integrity Records concludes the three-parter PANTONE series of releases with a 3-tracker EP by US based Italian-German artist Stefan Weise. The release follows on from the first two EPs by Miles Ellis and Ka§par, which were released in March and June r​espectively. The ‘Striations’ EP sees the producer in top melodic form, featuring a fair share of motor city chords and soundscapes. Italian siblings, The Robinson, deliver a mesmerizing triplet of tracks on the ‘Nightmares’ EP, having popped up recently on Futureboogie’s 2020 Summer Riot IX EP. And the FBR HQ has been all of a quiver after one of the deep house scene’s most prominent and revered figures, Ron Trent, blessed the release with a fine remix in his own inimitable style.

With only a couple of releases on RYE Records behind them, The Robinson are clearly fully formed already, as evident on ‘Burnout’, a sprawling and luscious house joint that’s replete with melodic emotion and rhythmic power.
