We do like Ptaki a lot here at LYO ; in case you missed it, the duo delivered a delightful blend for our mix serie (and we even had the pleasure to play with one of its member in Manchester few weeks ago). Ptaki take another journey with Transatlantyk imprint to bring you the remixes of their well received debut album. Alongside unreleased dub from the “Przelot” sessions, you’ll find two great reworks here, both by contemporary heroes of the fast rising Polish house scene ; Eltron John and Das Komplex.
The real gem here is Eltron’s 10 minute version of “Sloneczny Pyl”, taking a whole A Side for a reason. It’s a straight up peaktime house banger destined for a summerjam status. Catchy female vocal loop from the ambient original is surrounded here by massive warm bassline running on a dubwise tip, layered tribal drums and percussions, and a few cisterns of raw, oily effects, guitar licks and pouring keyboard pads. And that enormous breakdown too... Eltron’s trademark “big room deep” vibe mixed with Ptaki’s slice of sampled psychedelia created a track that’s already a road-tested crowd favourite ! 16. Karol Aleksander - Pomiędzy Gęstościami [Beatport Exclusive]

Hailing from Eastern Poland, Karol Aleksander is Warsaw-based DJ, producer and vinyl record collector. With releases on labels like Pets, Whiskey Disco and The Very Polish Cut Outs he pays homage to house and disco music. His tracks have gained support from many DJ’s from around the world and have been played on various radio stations including shows such as Boiler Room or Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space.

Tired of another EP filled with US disco or afro boogie edits? Then we got you covered – after 3 years The Very Polish Cut Outs are back with another instalment of their samplers. This new offering is filled with 4 delicious polish tracks edited for making the dancefloor sweat.
The A-side has starts with a new edit from Holiday 80, the Warsaw duo steals the show with a proper stomper „Twą Jasną Widzę Twarz” („I can see your light face”), a heavy party weapon with infectious vocal hooks based on a totally unknown track by a very famous Polish folk band. The next track is deep disco at its best - „Dżinsowe maniery” („Jeans manners”) edited by Karol Aleksander who joins forces with Bisti, a new talent on the TVPC roster. Their reinterpretation of a pretty unknown song by superstar Polish diva is a straight floor-filler infused with soul vocals.
On the flip side, you will find two edits by the Belarusian maestro Schmoltz, who once again proves, that he’s the master when it comes to digging obscure tracks from behind the Iron Curtain. The first piece is „Piosenka młodych wioślarzy” („The song of the young rowmen”) an energetic time-bomb as well as a crazy combo of organ stabs and groovy horns. The other cut is a hypnotizing edit of “To będzie koniec” (“This will be the end”), a Polish new-wave unheard classic with a psychedelic twist. The cover sleeve was designed by the long-time label collaborator Bartek Szymkiewicz.
