In June 2021, an unmarked package arrived at the Psychic Liberation headquarters. The small box, which had no return address, contained three items: a thumb drive, a printed message from a notes app, and a small satchel of what seemed to be carambola seeds. The note reads: “We were raised in the ashes of time. This is a philosophy of live. Made while sailing the seas of chaos on our humble houseboat, a place you’ll come to know. But do not seek us out. We are gone.”


Unwilling to risk a computer virus, or humor what was maybe a prank, the thumb drive sat on a shelf for a number of weeks. Eventually, label head Nick Klein decided to take it to the Royal Library of the Netherlands and open its contents on a computer there, just in case.


The thumb drive was titled jd swift. It’s unclear whether this is the artist’s name, the title of the album, or both. The recording opens with an alien spaghetti western: a chopped voice and wobbly single note, signaling that this is a strange place. The percussion is directionless at first, but warbled samples, including the nostalgic clink of getting a coin in Donkey Kong, give way to mutant structure.


Distorted twinkles, dubby hats, and big paranoid kicks occasionally swirl into lo-fi hurricanes, but mostly this music resides in the calm but weirdly charged eye of the storm.


Though little can be assumed about the context of these sonic creations, they seem to be the result of extended jams. The toolbox includes broken arpeggiations and fuzzed bells, air horns and watery pannings. This is twisted globalism, a nexus of serenity and catastrophe, a series of unrecognizable landscapes that read like field recordings though they are intentional creations. The inscrutability of their delivery captures perfectly the sense that artists are no longer individuals or collectives—they are circuits of larger machinery.


Meandering between sounds, these sui generis recordings don’t quite fit the categories of contemporary electronic music. Junk ambient, marginal acid… it’s a struggle to appropriately describe the sounds. Part of this difficulty comes from the artist’s (or artists’) purposefully self-effacing strategy, a circumventing of the systems that edify and circulate art based on identity, practice, and vision. Indeed, this is one of the reasons PL was strangely attracted to these recordings in the first place.


All eight of the individual pieces that make up jd swift are untitled, but are labelled with the time at which they start in the recording. The first track is titled 0:00. Does this hint at new beginnings, or a stance against time itself? If you find yourself on a coast, keep an eye out for a houseboat. Its occupants may know the answer.

LYL SHOW #1 - Premier Rayon's Mixtape by Mari & ani dj

At last! This is Lost Soul Enterprises big 15th release on wax, a tidy compilation of off-kilter dance floor cuts and misfit synthpunk anthems.

Side A commences with the gothic, neon-soaked Miami bass of ALONZO's "Cruising with Pap," featuring sinister verses delivered by a shadowy syrup-sipping secret guest vocalist. Up next is bucking bronco NICK KLEIN's slow-mo industrial headbanger "Posture Test.” The sonic equivalent of a sweat-soaked concrete floor, it lurches along at its own mechanical pace amid the metallic hiss and howl. Lastly, wild synth lines and ethereal dubbed-out samples dart in and out over a tough, punchy rhythmic foundation in NAEEM's "TLX," an android's sci-fi electro vision gone haywire.
On the B side, HEIDI SABERTOOTH’s “Was It You” launches us deep into chugging acidic territory, combining enigmatic spoken vocals and a psychedelic, slowly evolving SH-101 line over a persuasive groove. Like a slap in the face after that comes raucous synth-punk powerhouse SSPS with “Paradise Lozt,” raw as fuck, chanting a litany of dystopian tales atop pumping drums and a wash of demented organ-like synth stabs. Finally we close with the short but powerful “New Vape City” by the nomadic DOUCE ANGOISSE - an absolute earworm, a doleful coldwave ballad whose lush production plays perfect counterpoint to the icy, deadpan sentiments within.

Ligovskoï - Goha (HBTVSK Remix)

Gouru is launching its own label, SUBMERSIVE, with an EP from Brendon Moeller aka. Echologist, including a remix from French duo HBTVSK (Voiski & Heartbeat).

In 2014, to celebrate the 4th birthday of the webzine Gouru, Brendon Moeller and HBTVSK were invited to play at La Machine du Moulin Rouge (Paris). Following a car accident on his way to the airport of New York, Brendon was unable to appear and play. To make up for this unfortunate incident, Gouru offered Brendon the inauguration of its new label SUBMERSIVE, and invited Heartbeat & Voiski aka HBTVSK, the duo he was supposed to share the stage with, to remix one track.

2 years later, the first EP of the label gathers all 3 artists who were not able to share the decks on stage, on the same record. As Brendon himself says , “all good things take time” and instead of evoking the nostalgy of a party that did not happen, the record opens the doors of the imagination and takes us to a powerful collaboration between 2 artists’ generations, thereby showing us the Techno scene at its best.

Zur opens the ball and sets the tone of the EP; a dub and progressive rise, based on a cyclic structure, punctuated by a random reverb. Tension is maintained throughout and finally leaves room to Filth, whose rhythm is faster, unrestrained, yet keeps an air of suspense and unpredictability - The perfect soundtrack for an exhausting race. Looking for Trouble plays on a more hypnotic side. With a dark yet electrifying atmosphere, rhythms are exalted by a strident and piercing melody, evolving alongside uncontrollable sounds, throwing us straight into a cosmic trip.

Faithful to the spirit of the EP, the Filth remix delivered by HBTVSK is a perfect exercise of style. Without denaturing the original track, the remix revisits it. Its’ heavy, powerful mechanism is, at the same time, accurate and sharpened. Certain parts of the original track are easily recognizable, which finally get lost in the subtle gearwheel of an anthem tinted by noise.

DEMENT3D Records presents: Ligovskoï - Mana EP and Remixes - DM3D016

Mana is the second EP by Ligovskoï, the most poetic and abstract band here at DEMENT3D.

The duo, between Bruxelles and Paris, has come up with five new pieces, bringing their craft to a whole new level. Their condensed and moving soundscapes are now heightened by narrative compositions and constructions. Their music is still mysterious and unsettling by essence ; and there is now something of a paradox between a kind of wary decency that definenes their attitude - where melodies and rhythm patterns are concealed in a vast arrangement of deep frequencies - and on the other hand, how they have now managed to now perform as musicians and express some impredictable energy and interpretation in their works. A very elegant way of installing an incarnated and personal dimension in their music, that complements the classic intimacy and deepness of their ambient / drone etiquette.

The record here, much like Ligovskoï’s previous project “Dilip” is associated with remixes - which makes it a double EP. The originals by the duo are found on sides A and B of a white, opaque vinyl, and the remixes on sides C and D of a classic black 12”. 
Abdulla Rashim honours us with a third remix for the label and  we are also proud to welcome Peder Mannerfelt in our remixers roster

A 2017 archive - 3 years later comes the time to share VOIESX, a 52 pages fanzine initiated by Victoria Renaud with the collaboration of Antoine Melquiond. 

The zine is compiling work from 23 artists, folks and freaky geniuses, part of the venue community and members of the Champ Libre artistic team.

Compilation of 15 tracks, including exclusively material from artists who performed at the infamous Champ Libre venue "24 rue Davoust".
