Subliminal crafted this Boombap Beat during a phase of insomnia on FL Studio. The track incorporates a sample from a movie theme, though Subliminal sincerely apologizes for forgetting the name of that flick.

In addition, he utilized an acapella from a Griselda tune and structured the beat around the vocals of Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher, and Conway The Machine. This was done to steer clear of any rhythmic inconsistencies and ensure a smooth flow.

 Five in the morning. A dirty hour. Too early to be up, too late to sleep. Only the insomniacs, the twisted, and guys like me are still around. The coffee burns the throat, the joint spits its poison, and here I am, standing in front of my machine. A piece of scrap metal, my last refuge. I’m talking about a life.

I open my program. That’s my pen. Where every note I place is a strike against silence. It knows I need to make the sounds crash to release the demons. The beat is spinning in my ears. Raw. Not finished yet. Just a skeleton that needs muscle. But there’s something. A smell of violence, sweat, truth. So, I refine.

A USB stick in my pocket and a shiver in my gut, I head towards the Shogun HQ. The place is dark, suffocating. The walls smell like cigarettes and the art of strategy. Everything here is calculated, maneuvered. Over there, behind the console, Smoke2Match. This guy, he’s a legend. Not the kind you cheer for. No. He does his work in the shadows. And he’ll break you or elevate you, depending on his mood.

He looks at me with his tired eye, a smirk on his face.
— "Put it in the KONTROL S3," he growls.
I obey. Not the type of guy to argue.

Smoke digs up a track. A raw gem still carrying the scent of its cradle. A kid made it. Belac, he’s called. A name that hits like a slap. This kid, he’s got fire in his veins. Smoke, he takes the track and drops it on my beat. He messes with the buttons, the sliders. The sound changes. It screams, it bleeds. A raw thing turns into a weapon.

And then, it’s born. "Lil’ Smoke Fantasy." A monster.

I look at Smoke. He smiles. Not the smile of the happy ones. The smile of the guys who just created something bigger than themselves.

Me? I crush my joint and I smile too. Because in this dark world, it’s not every day you give birth to something beautiful.

 Cinq heures du mat’. Une sale heure. Trop tôt pour être debout, trop tard pour dormir. Y’a que les insomniaques, les détraqués, et les types comme moi qui traînent encore. Le café brûle la gorge, le joint crache son poison, et moi, je suis planté devant ma machine. Un bout de ferraille, mon dernier refuge. J’te parle d’une vie.

J’ouvre mon programme. C’est ça, ma plume. Là où chaque note que je place est un coup porté au silence. Elle sait que j’ai besoin de faire cogner les sons pour sortir les démons. Le beat tourne dans mes oreilles. Brut. Pas encore fini. Juste une carcasse qu’il faut muscler. Mais y’a un truc. Une odeur de violence, de sueur, de vérité. Alors je peaufine.

Une clé USB en poche et un frisson dans l’ventre, je me dirige vers le QG du SHŌGUN. L’endroit est sombre, étouffant. Les murs sentent la clope et l’art de la stratégie. Ici, tout est calculé, manœuvré. Là-bas, derrière la console, Smoke2Match. Ce gars-là, c’est une légende. Pas du genre qu’on acclame. Non. Lui, il fait son taf dans l’ombre. Et il te brise ou te sublime, selon son humeur.

Il me regarde de son œil fatigué, un sourire en coin.
— "Mets ça dans la KONTROL S3", qu’il grogne.
J’obéis. Pas le genre de mec à discuter.

Smoke déterre une prod. Une pépite brute qui porte encore l’odeur du berceau. Un gamin l’a pondu. Belac, qu’il s’appelle. Un nom qui claque comme une gifle. Ce môme, il a du feu dans les veines. Smoke, il prend son truc et il le balance sur mon beat. Il tripote les boutons, les curseurs. Le son change. Il hurle, il saigne. Un truc brut devient une arme.

Et là, ça naît. "Lil’ Smoke Fantasy". Un monstre.

Je regarde Smoke. Il sourit. Pas le sourire des heureux. Celui des mecs qui viennent de créer un truc plus grand qu’eux.

Moi ? J’écrase mon joint et je souris aussi. Parce que dans ce monde noir, c’est pas tous les jours qu’on fait naître quelque chose de beau.
