Golden Slumbers from the 2017 Album, Love and Lullabies by Les Lankhorst, is an inspired, dreamy version of the Lennon and McCartney classic. Lankhorst, best known for his Sinatra-esque stylings, brings in the talents of producer and woodwind virtuoso, Jeremy Diffey from Victoria, Australia and between the two of them, they really create and unique, singular mood with this version.

Golden Slumbers

Les goes all the way to England and the classic (almost cultish) family film Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang for a hauntingly gorgeous rendition of the lullaby "Hushabye Mountain" For this, he chooses to bring in some wonderful, young talent in the form of 18 year old newcomer Miranda Taylor. With Lankhorst's smooth, smoky baritone voice juxtaposed with Taylor's lilting, wistful timbre, the song takes us all away to the fantasy land of Hushaby Mountain. The guitar solo in the break, by the exquisitely soulful Jack Pantazis, turns us around and almost takes us to the world of James Bond. It leaves us to wonder if this is an obvious nod by Pantazis to the writer of Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, Ian Fleming, famed for his James Bond mega-franchise.

Hushabye Mountain

Les Lankhorst's traditional and hauntingly beautiful version of "Moonlight in Vermont" is one of the highlights of his 2017 album - "Love and Lullabies". Produced and mixed by Jeremy Diffey out of Australia, this track will stick with you and ease all those troubles of the day away...

This is Les Lankhorst performing "How Deep is the Ocean" at a Benefit Concert at Kansas State University. It's a gorgeous rendition of the Irving Berlin song from 1932. Les is accompanied by Dean Kranzler on drums, Andrew Book on bass, and Bill Wingfield on grand piano.
