Hyein is a dj and producer based in Seoul where she studied Film and Moving Images, focusing on the coexistence and cross-modality between image and sound. Naturally being drawn towards audio visual arts, she met DJ Soolee and she was fascinated by the spirituality and smeared texture of minimal, constructive techno. 

Always capturing minor irritations and traces of mother nature within objects around her, she tries to express her feelings and dissolve her fears by emulating those subtle movements through music. Inspired by “uncanny” ambient sounds from the 70s, she produces deep and dark sound textures, gently experimenting with movements of low frequencies. 

Hyein currently holds a residency at Seoul’s underground techno club vurt and works on the project Endless Wave which connects her paintings and techno sound.

Hyein은 서울에서 활동하고 있는 Techno DJ, Producer 이다. 학교에서 영상과 영화를 공부하면서 사운드와 이미지의 공존관계에 대한 관심이 생겨 자연스럽게 오디오 비주얼에 관한 흥미를 키워가던 중 DJ soolee를 만났다. 이후 테크노라는 음악의 정신성과, 미니멀하고 구조적인 음악적 형태에서 묻어 나오는 텍스처를 느낄 수 있는 점에 매료되어 음악을 배우고 시작하게 되었다. 

그녀는 대자연 같은 대상물의 디테일한 움직임을 포착하는 경험의 순간에 느껴지는 두렵고 낯선 감정들을 본인의 사운드에 녹여낸다. 섬세하게 풀어내는 어둡고 딥한 베이스의 움직임들과 70년대에 엠비언트에서 영감을 받은 사운드들은 사람들을 때론 ‘Uncanny’ 하게 만들기도 한다. 

현재는 서울 합정동에 위치한 club vurt에서 레지던트 dj로 경력을 쌓고 있으며 “ENDLESS WAVE”라는 주제로 그녀의 테크노사운드에서 상호 작용하는 것들을 페인팅으로 풀어내는 회화 작업도 하고 있다.

Soolee is a representative Korean Techno producer and DJ based in capital Seoul. Since 2012, he is curating Less n Less Podcast for worldwide techno music. Started More Than Less Records from 2014, he is working electronic music based on Deep and Techno.

Since the previous his name is discovered from Worldwide Techno scene from the event celebrating German unity “We Call It Techno”, His various and experimental Electronic music has shown in Korea long time. Soolee’s project “Future Jazz” get attention from Electronic music scene Media art field. Thus Media magazine introduce him as "Unbounded unlimited future musician"

Soolee’s plays based on heavy straight beats and groovy off beats, flying experimental ambience and rhythmic elements. On the stage he plays fluently commanded of demanding technique by himself on his unique hybrid set (mixed from three channel with Drum machine and analog effectors) and Live set. Since 2014, Soolee plays at pure techno club in Seoul, Vurt as a resident also playing in other Asian region like Taiwan, China and Europe such as Parisian Techno Parade, Concrete club, Lille 3000, Suicide Circus in Berlin as well.

his music is released from worldwide Techno labels include his More Than Less Records, Credo, Newrhythmic, Impact Mechanic, LCR and many other. His first Vinyl release in 2014, Tense is well supported from worldwide techno DJs like Joachim Speith, Develoiper, Bas Mooy, Francois X, Henning Baer, Tommy Four Seven, Reggy Van Oers and many more. In addition, his entirely re-created remix works are highly evaluated. Especially his remix from Joton - Collision is played famous UK Radio show Rinse FM by Techno legend Surgeon. Also he had invited from many podcast series like Invite's Choice, Death Tehcno, NWR and many more.

Soolee is a faithful DJ for makes people dance in the floor, explorer to find new sound in studio and pioneer to expand techno scene in new frontier.
