Silk Textures is thrilled to release its fifth album, "Silk Textures 05," mixed and compiled by Da Funk, the sensational Swiss producer and DJ. Da Funk not only has been an active musician for nearly two decades, but he is also the founder of the acclaimed Acryl Music label. It is our great honor to announce that Da Funk is now the leading ambassador of our imprint, having recently embraced the role of "Silk Textures" radio show host. A long-standing show on Proton Radio, "Silk Textures" recently reached #1 on the San Francisco-based, underground dance music station. 

Da Funk's continuous mix includes 15 deep, groovy, and lush cuts: from Dousk's deep-diving remix of Kyo Koichii's "Spit On You" to Sure-I-Can's outer-worldly "Sin" and Da Funk's own funky "King Filth." Previous Silk fan favorites on the album include Claes Rosen's jazzy, yet soothing "Glancing," as well as Bodytemp's provocative "Kalm."

Several of the album tracks are previously unreleased. Specifically, Irish newcomer Jay FM treats us to the tranquil "Waterfall," a sensual deep-progressive journey that works especially well as a soulful opener in a live set. Legendary Silk veteran Kobana offers a new remix of Sean Mackey's "Aviary," which proves to be a vintage, uptempo deep house cut. Last but not least, another label veteran, Denis Laurent, contributes his distinctive brand of chilled, late-night progressive house yet again on "Osennee."

This compilation offers Da Funk's fans a glimpse of his acclaimed DJ style: fluid, compositional, and soothing, yet powerfully emotive. Silk Music cordially invites you to kick back and relax to the sensual and soulful vibes of Da Funk, as well as numerous other core artists on Silk Textures.

It is time for another dose of a stupendous & quality filled release here on Perplexity Music, this time coming from US based talent, Kono (USA). It's a pleasure to have him back here with another 3 track EP titled 'Moku/Petrichor' which would be a journey into the unknown but all will be explained the moment you hit play.  

The first track, 'Moku' is a delightful number to begin with as it highlights what the EP is about & the story behind its title.  You are treated to a host of sun ladened melodies that start off from the moment you press play, illuminating your mind & preparing you for a dazzling production that streams out good feelings & pleasant musings. Moku, a little place of heaven off the Hawaiian coast, a place where the water is as blue as the nightly sky & the sun as blazing as can be, that is where you are transported to from your daily lives; to this exotic & riveting destination. The energetic & subdued synths work well with the overall floating elements of the crisp vocal chops, bringing in flavour & colour to this already extraordinary work of art. A delicate piano line is used for a tender touch to lighten up this exquisite piece bringing it all to soothing & peaceful end; coaxing the lustrous Hawaiian breeze right to you.

There has been a dry spell of weather, but all of a sudden, the rain pours down & engulfs everything in sight, for however long that is. Suddenly, it's bright again & slowly the rain water is drying off, leaving this pungent & dense smell in the air, almost refreshing, as if the pores of rain that are drying are evaporating all around & you can smell it; that, that is 'Petrichor'. As refreshing as the word itself , you can feel that new & untouched feeling of everything being cleansed by the way the gorgeous melody kicks in right away alongside the subtle but strong percussion. The bell like chimes add in that authenticity, with the powerful chord work protruding through to heartfelt sounds. Almost like a rising tide, the breakdown serenades you into oblivion by the light piano lines that purge everything that is dark, leading you into the light before the full extent of the fluttering melody really launches in with the well placed vocal chops; that's when you know you've felt it & tasted it, the freedom after the rain.  

Canadian talent Martin Peter brings in his impressive musical artillery for a divine remix of 'Moku', luring you in with the slow & deep chords that spark wonder yet positivity. This beautiful remix really focuses on the sweet melodies from the original, using a great range of chord accentions & vocal  chops to enhance the smooth & delicate textures of it. It is vibrant & welcoming, really being one to warm up those blistering & fast approaching winter nights with the right blend of rhythm & melody that works strategically, again taking you away to the warm Moku air that surrounds you.

Another EP that has blown us away & we hope that you felt the same range of emotions that these prodigious artists have managed to extract from the deepest parts of us. It's always viable to learn something new, whether through music or life itself, but we hope you gained not only this intoxicating music that runs in tune with our heartbeats but also a place of contentment & belonging in the mere form of words. "Chillout Sessions 01" is the first instalment of a new compilation series on Silk Music. It features brilliant and sophisticated music from label veterans and upcoming producers from around the world.

Lime Time (Russia) has prepared a unique interpretation of the Koda classic, "The Last Stand". The track takes off with an incredibly lush atmosphere, including smooth pad layers and hypnotic piano melodies. Koda's signature vocals are brilliantly supported by intricate percussion elements and delicate sound effects.

Clive Leighton (Italy) has teamed up with American singer Elli Espi on "Starting Line". A hypnotic soundscape introduces the song, featuring soothing pads, mesmerizing percussion stems, and Elli's enjoyable vocals on top.

Lessov (Canada) showcases his remix of an old Silk Music release, Sourcee's "Hear Me Now". The track takes off with a unique and frisky breakbeat and brilliant guitar riffs. Many striking background melodies accompany the well-known vocals from the original song quite well.

Anthony Yarranton (UK) provides a true Balearic experience with his "Bar Dusk". Outstanding pad layers, lush percussion elements, and brilliant sound effects quickly form a gorgeous atmosphere, which is later spiced up with delicate rhodes stabs.

"Memories" from Russian Bob Memphis is introduced by a strong breakbeat and mesmerizing bassline notes. Throughout the track, varying pad layers, compelling sound effects, and remarkable melodies combine brilliantly.

ElDera (Russia) contributes the brand new "Pacific Ocean". The song quickly establishes a breathtaking atmosphere, including captivating pad layers, subtle piano notes, and fascinating choir-esque harmonies.

Russian duo Edelways & Nail Abdiev presents their song "Moscow Lullaby". A charming soundscape introduces the track, soon accompanied by an intriguing breakbeat. The track features astonishing pad layers and impressive lead melodies.

"Hidden Lights" from Italian producer N4C showcases brilliant piano melodies atop mesmerizing percussion elements and lush sound effects. Later, subtle string layers and new lead melodies provide extra texture.

"Moon" is a track by Russian producer Onkakmir. In the song's early going, we witness a truly stunning atmosphere, featuring hypnotizing sound effects and intriguing melodies. Throughout the track, the listener is captivated by the vast amount of delicious sound variations and effects.

"Te Amo" from UK producer Zak Rush finalizes this chillout compilation. A soothing and energetic soundscape is quickly established, and intriguing melodies are added on top as the song progresses. The energy is maintained with continuous pad variations and frisky percussion elements.

From The Outside is the Nueva debut from Marcus Gauntlett and Dani Senior. The original mix features a great melody and is built around captivating and powerful vocals from Danielle. Vintage & Morelli on remix duties bundles the melody and vocals into an incredible progressive trance track that is reminiscent of the early 2010s. We are unbelievable excited to finally share this one with you!

American producer Will Canas is back on the sunny shores of sunsetmelodies and his progressive sound oozes a lust for Summer. Heading back to his trance roots, he’s created “Southbound”, a mesmerising and all-encapsulating tune that will have you gasping for the cooling breeze. Be guided through the tune by its compelling melody and basslines that enable you to get lost on a journey.

Canadian Andrew Lang has demonstrated his talents once again and his take on “Southbound” is one that is evocative and inspiriting. Driving percussion lines and massive leads are a signature and with a breakdown as sweet and warm as this you can’t go wrong.  The light vocal hues and piano melodies sweep through the track as beautifully as the sunset.

Keeping to the entrancing sound are The Antipodes – an up-and-coming Italian trance duo that know how to hypnotise. Pushing “Southbound” a little harder, the track facilitates an energy that makes you want to move and groove. With the fusion of lush atmospheres and a tempestuous bassline, you’re in for a treat.
