Long forgotten amidst the cragged slope of a dormant volcano, the ruins of an ancient temple stood firm in silent reverence. A millennia of lava flows had reforged its walls time and time again, warping the structure’s dimensions each time as stone was birthed and culled by the forces that were its primordial progenitor. For thousands of years this cycle had raged at the edges of the temple compound, and yet for thousands of years one singular structure had remained - the great bronze idol of the temple’s forgotten patron deity, untouched by the tongues of raging flame. 

There had been no true supplicants for hundreds of years, and only a scant few visitors had ever braved the rigorous journey along the obsidian-clad spines that lay below the temple even to simply gaze upon its ruined form. Thus it was that when a lone traveler clad in orange robes entered the inner transept of the Temple, his bare feet bloodied from the pilgrimage, the long-smoldering flame of devotion roared to life behind the eyes of the great statue as the volcanic ground quivered expectantly beneath it. With ritual pilgrimage completed by this stranger, a new age could now begin. Under the Gydra’s watchful eye, the lava would run again. 

GYDRA make a triumphant return to EATBRAIN as they reignite the flame of LAVA RUN, delivering a VIP mix of the famed track to delight of the EATBRAIN horde’s eager ears. Meanwhile, label boss JADE unveils JADE VENOM and adapts the serpentine qualities of his new alias to remix GYDRA’s IKRA, perhaps the most storied track within the label’s extensive catalog. Together, the pairing makes for a release of unstoppable power, celebrating all that is EATBRAIN from front to back.

The depth of the forest was unknown to those who lived at its verge. Shadows cast from the dense canopy seemed to reach out towards those who passed close by, wisps of darkness unfurling and twisting around the limbs of the youngest that dared to play at its sinister edge. The oldest stories of its roots passed across the creaking voices of the town pensioners hunched in the safety of others, discretely whispered and shot through with fearful looks. The allure of that dense and ancient place stretched back eternal, and bitter consequence waited for those who breached its dark heart.  The crew ignored the nonsense of such crones, pulling the carts of equipment under the cover of dusk until the sounds of the town were but a memory. The speaker stacks were raised against the night, strings of lights hung between the trees and purity of disturbed bass rolled against the surrounding trunks as they disentangled themselves from the mundane fiber of the lives they left behind. Twisting against one another as they let flood serotonin delight, they ignited an orgy of sonic symbiosis as the rave found its wings and took flight. The spores drifted imperceptibly into the clearing from the darkness around, lodging without discomfort in the eyes, ears and noses of the gathered young. And then the screaming started, the undulating mass of the gathering turned inward… devouring itself as limbs were separated from bodies, necks ripped as skin tore loose and the blood flowed freely over the gnashing faces of those left alive at the KILL PARTY… 
  
GYDRA return to EATBRAIN in force, following up their well-received CYBORG EP with the dynamic, darkly driven but funk-laced assault of the KILL PARTY EP. From the old-school drenched piano and ultrafunk of the title track, to the playful sinister intent of PRIMITIVE INSTINCT, the filthy sub explorations of PROBLEM and the predatory sensibilities of IKRA – the 4 tracks within display the dynamic and exploratory character of the production outfit. This is Russian neurofunk at its finest, delivered on the platform that’s tailored exactly to the premiere kinetic nature of its content.

Deep within the shifting sands lay the remains of a once great city, a monument to the hubris of those who had once thought they could conquer the indomitable forces of the planet. To hold back the everpresent encroachment of the dunes they had raised walls of great heights, built upon the sacrifice of those least fortunate among them, those condemned to work beneath the blistering heat of the land. It was through their blood that the city was built, through their blood that the fortunate lived in such an otherwise inhospitable climate. As the death of these sacrifices increased however, they bore new life elsewhere. Their blood, seeping through the cracked desert soil, awakened something long since sealed away.

Fed by their misery, the creature’s power grew beneath the dunes. For each that fell it became stronger, its hunger rising as it tasted more and more that which had been denied to it for so long. Upon the night of the sun’s peak it rose, driven by the heat that still radiated from the earth. It was a malstrom of sand, fire, and bone, an amalgamation of destruction which surged across the landscape. What little life there was in this desolate place was subsumed into its maw, becoming a part of the dynamo which swept towards the city. Its winds battered against the walls, grinding their stones to dust which only furthered the creature’s power. In minutes it had broken through, and as the city was swallowed within the vortex the DUST DEVIL reclaimed for the desert what was its own once again.

MIZO returns to EATBRAIN with the release of DUST DEVIL, a five track EP featuring collaborations with TRILO & CHASER. DOUBLE RUSH features the powerful combination of MIZO & CHASER, as well as the combination of a frantic topline and charging bass which work together to move the track forwards at a rapid pace. DUST DEVIL whips this dynamic energy into a further frenzy as its basses whirl with unrestrained fury atop a devastating drumbeat. While the gradual approach of HORIZON grows to become a steady lock-step rhythm that soars with effortless aptitude over its arpeggiated bassline, MIZO & TRILO’s ARTIFICIAL NOISE takes a different approach as it leaps into the musical melee, bolstered by the power of its roaring synths.The second collaboration with CHASER, CONTACTLESS, closes the EP, its desolate soundscape quickly transformed into a tech filled groove that rides upon its rolling sub and the strange shiftings of its tonal topline synths. Backed by the powerful Eatbrain platform, DUST DEVIL is sure to soar across the sonic landscape for quite some time.

Now over ten years deep in the game, decorated Slovakian drum and bass
veteran Trilo has amassed a loyal following thanks to his natural ability to juggle intricate melodies with unrelenting bassweight. Best known for his contributions to the neurofunk scene but equally comfortable producing myriad styles of D&B, the now Kraków-based producer’s vast back catalog spans prestigious labels including Renegade Hardware, Bad Taste, Eatbrain and Let It Roll. His most recent offering, 2019’s “Rush”, saw him collaborate with Bad Company UK legend Vegas. Now keen to explore his own musical identity rather than conforming to labels’ often rigid sonic requirements, Trilo has opted to self-release his music via his own label, Trilo Music.
First up on the label is the new single “Sion”, a barbed belter which opens with epic leads, cinematic pads and swirling FX before catapulting into a stunning climax dominated by gravelly basslines and vicious drums. A triumphant showcase of the signature style Trilo fans know and love, this serves as the first in an upcoming string of similarly heavy and technical releases on the label, set to be imminently released on a bi-monthly basis. In
the near future, however, expect Trilo Music to encompass a broader range of music across the D&B spectrum, including plenty of exciting collaborations with other titans of the scene.
